First Samsung phone so maybe this is a Samsung thing. But, on my HTc phones my clock/weather widget would always update with current location and weather details. With the SIII I have to manually tap into it, then refresh it. At that point it updates the weather, but not location. Work in downtown Dallas and live in one of the burbs and the widget doesn't update location at same time as weather.
What am I missing?
Thanks.
You have to set the refresh manually since the default is to never auto refresh. Just tap the weather widget and go into settings, you'll see a spot there to set the frequency of the refresh. Used to HTC phones also, so I was wondering why the weather would never refresh heh.

Anyone having the home screen weather/clock widget not update your current location? and yes it is set to use current location in the settings. Is there anyway to clear the widget data?
I posted about the same issue some days ago.
Finally I got it fixed. I had noticed that each time I went to the clock app and open the desktop clock tab, it updated the current location. So I looked around and found that it was possible to have the weather on the lockscreen, what I did. I also went to settings>applications management>all and force weather main to stop.
I don't know which stage has been efficient but now my location is correctly updated each hour. I think it's worth a try.

I know it's an old thread, but I had the same problem and it got me on the right track. You need to have WiFi location enabled if you're connected to WiFi.
How can u force a location change on thus thing? Although I have refreshed the weather it still shows a weather of a different city I was many hours ago.

EDIT: before you go down and read the last page, as 99% of the posts are irrelevant, what i had to do in the interim for both of these is this:
1) go to the search cities through the widget and re-add the current location screen which immediately found my location
2) once this was done, the lockscreen was still stuck on the previous location, and this was solved by a restart.
Unfortunately forcing an update on the weather, did not change the location. Turning on the GPS did not either. Therefore im not sure if the update frequency changes this would allow for more accurate location service, or its a small bug that samsung needs to look into.

Weather widget is not updating
I notice the GPS turn on at same time weather widget is scheduled automatic update (1 hour), does yours? I also have weather on the lockscreen.
Search first before posting new needless threads.

Is it possibile to change city in lockscreen weather? It shows me only the city it receives from my gps/wi-fi position and I'd like to change that city..

Tap on weather widget, then tap + and add city
i think the WEATHER app database is off.
i went and cleared data, cache and defaults from WEATHER MAIN, DAEMON and WEATHER.
i go back and reload the widget and it goes and searches for location. it finds the wrong city. actually, the city next to where i am. but i'm kinda right at the border.
i'll try at a diff location and see if this cures it.
btw, i went into the MAP app and that finds me correctly...
I have CyanogenMods cLock widget on my home screen and for the last couple days, the weather fails to update. I can use Yahoo weather with it or Openweathermap with it when I place the widget. Nothing changes. I have it so it refreshes every 30 minutes but it never does and I'm unable to refresh it manually as it never refreshes.
Has anyone experienced this before and has a fix for it? I know I can use another weather widget from the play store but I'd rather use cLock.
I'm on CM12.1
Thanks!
When I am on CM 12.1, my CM clock also fail to update weather and location in widget.
But after keeping location ON, it solved. Then it displayed proper weather with respect to location.
For better weather report, location should be on High accuracy mode.

Yeah that'll probably help. I always keep my location set to Battery Saving. I've always had it on Battery Saving since I've been using CyanogenMod with no issues til now. Its always updated til it started messing up a couple days ago. Weird.
I'll keep location set to High Accuracy for awhile, see if it helps.
Hi all,
Probably a daft question, but before I updated to EMUI 8, I had the home city set in the weather widget to be my home town - set using the GPS "current location" setting. Since the update and a factory reset, I can't work out how to set my current location, when at home, as my home city. And as the text based city search entry is slightly different to the GPS current location, it means I end up with the dual time/weather display when I'm at home.
Seems silly, but it's upsetting my OCD.
I had the same issue drove me mad, so i resolved it with the following click on the clock, click settings, world clock > Date and time, at the bottom is home city, in that setting exit the add city setting and select none, it then uses the weather location which should be your location and gets rid of the dual clocks ( well it worked for me)

Under date and time I only get the option to either use the same home city as the weather app, or add a city. There is the option in the weather app to set the home city as none, but I want the dual time/weather thing, but not when I'm at home. The app allows me to add the town, Forfar, but GPS shows up as Forfar & District.
So, no further forward at the moment.
