google maps navigation is not yet available in this location !!!!!why - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi
I'm living in Saudi Arabia
and since i bought S III few days ago i shocked with this
google maps navigation is not yet available in this location
when i tried to use navigations ,
thats really awful , coz in nokia world there is ovi maps and nokia maps and its works here very well and navigation works 100 % with it
i found a little solution for that though installing a old cracked version of google maps but its buggy and crush alot so i uninstall it
now is there any real solution for that ?

Look for the Google Maps Ownhere Mod. It enables navigation worldwide.

Sygic - Aura problems !

Hi !
I'm a razr user since 5 days and i'm really satisfied with this device !
But......my Sygic - Aura navigator doesn't work with it.
Black screen when trying to load the maps.
I've tried to manually download base files and maps , i've tried also to copy files from nexus one to Razr....but...nothing happens.
Black screen then home screen.
I'm not able to get Sygic work.
Anyone else with this problem ?
Report that to the Sygic developers. It seems a sort of incompatibility with SGX or with the RAZR resolution.
Make sure you are using the latest version. I had a similar problem when I used a slightly older version.
Works fine now

[Q] navigation app

thinking of buying an offline navigation app, as i live in Europe i can rack up major data charges just visiting friends, who happen to live in another country. also be used for business, i work all over the shop!
been checking on market, but lots of negative reports on most, including navigon. i have a navigon gps for in the car, its okay, but by the reviews the android app is not so good. or is it?? google maps/navigation is great, but it uses data charge, loads if on satellite view
anyone have an offline navigation system installed, or can recommend one thru previous use?
thanx!
sygic not bad too...
I use mobile mobile maps from sygic. Works pretty good.
thanks, i'll check sygic out later..
I think osmand+ is the best. You can download all maps vector-rendered (small files) or as tiles from google, openstreetmaps and many more web-map-services.
So, I live in an area for a while, where coz of the occupation there are no navigation-systems allowed... (even normal printed maps are ridiculous bad).
So thanks to openstreetmaps.org which is developed very well in the last years and helped me out a lot! Nevertheless some routes are interrupted by yet another unknown roadblock

How to download and use offline maps using sygic
Sent from my GT-I5800 using xda premium
soooooo,
been using the trial version of sygic, pretty impressed, used it for work and must say its pretty accurate, and very usable. i've been having closure problems, (not fc, just closing app and sending me back to home screen) although this may be related to a ram manager i had installed (testing now).
other was, in the centre of the dashboard display, you have the countdown to the next junction and an arrow to tell you the direction, these are overlayed on my phone and a bit messy, you cant at a glance see it properly, just a tangled mess. is this the same on the paid version? on the sygic site these are 2 separate boxes on the shown picture.
otherwise, no complaints, would like to know before i pay €50!
also forgot, the android splash bar is also hidden, if you recieve a text, you cant see the notification, or gsm signal etc.
also in the pay version?
Bought full version last night, thanks for the info!

Worrying, because I'm going to try and use it to navigate in Spain soon.
Market is offering me the 6.2.0 update which appears to simply be 'night mode when going through tunnels in navigation'...
I'm on 6.1.1 and I haven't suffered any problems so far, let alone reboots
i got Cm7.1 installed and i have just installed the signed version of this app..
is that ok or do i need to installed un-signed version.
the reason im asking because whe i started google maps and Access request appears on my phone 3 times asking permission to access my google account
its says
the following one or more application request permission to access your account now and in the future
- maps
then a tick with Google and my email address
then underneath it says "LSID" - what does this mean?
Can someone please advise???
hi ryan,
what is the different between unsigned and signed?
sorry for my worst English

New Google Maps

So they introduced new maps...
With promised Offline.
Now they apparently removed the previous option..
And this functionality doesn't even work in Lisbon!!
I mean you can cache NewYork but what about other cities?!
Another disappointment, I have hoped Maps are developed enough to support it.
Must be because Lisbon got the same status as the Northpole. :silly:
Can only say the save offline works fine here in Denmark.

Good for you than!
I was able to cache any place before, now even capital city of Poland is not available.
Not to mention other Google services are still unavailable for many regions.
That's really crap. I was really hoping to have a global device once I quit WP7
but here the same.....:silly:

Hello. I got the same problem on my nexus 4. It`s used over 9GB over 2-3 days. problem began when i flashed on my nexus latest pa gapps.
Maybe that is the problem ?. I used my actual ROM before, and it wasn`t using so much transfer. My actual gapps is called pa_gapps-stock-4.4.2-20140123-signed.zip and i think they causes the problem.
@edit
I did factory reset and install everything as before but i used pa_gapps-stock-4.4.2-20131215-signed.zip.
Everything is ok now so i`m sure problem is in latest pa gapps.
