its normal as our screen gets the most of battery huge size :-D

Yeah it's normal, my screen takes even more

It really depends on how much the display is on, if you where playing nova 3 for 14 hours then it's good

even my wallpaper is too dark ( black in most of it )
so how can i reduce the drain of the power ?

Never mind.

hi it's normal... mine is there if not more. i would recommend you turn on the screen timeout sooner (like 30 secodns) if you're worried about too much draining. but eitehr way given the size of the screen it's normal

Maybe change to "Screen Mode" in "Display" to something less vibrant like Natural may help. I like bright (Dynamic) and fast (OC to 1.7GHz), also, I have a backup battery.

Slow touch response on launchers

I have been using galaxy s2 for 6 months now and its a great phone, best android I've used in terms of performance and gaming. I compared the phone with some other phones during these 6 months. One thing i noticed is the delay in touch response when using other launchers. I am a big fan of go launcher and launcher 7. But when I tried them on my friend's xperia neo V, launcher 7 was buttery smooth and on s2 response to touches was a bit late. Same was noticed on a few other high and mid range phones. You may think its a problem with my phone, but I dont think so, when you compare the phones side-by-side, there is some delay which is always noticeable. I am using siyah, using touch-move app, but still I think scrolling on homescreen on launchers should be a little more smoother... Just asking, is there something wrong with my phone or do you experience the same?

Whats the rom/kernel do you use? I use checkrom with siyah 2.6.7, tried all governers but launcher 7 still lags while scrolling a long list of tiles

There is an app called Touch Move by tegrak, you can lower your touch sensitivity within that app.

Plz advice on screen setting

Hello gents,
Glade to join this great proffesional forum.
I just brought my Sony Xperia S, (a week back) so far am very happy with its futures. but like some others am still trying to imporve my battery power
Anyway, reading on forums notes some guys can reduce display brightness which ofcourse will save power
The problem is when ever I reduce display brightenss, and cheking it on battery statuse page it always shows 60% or 65%. Even on very low brightness setting still stays same! !!
Any advice on this plz? !
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
It is absolutely normal. If you're on one of the earlier firmwares, you should flash .73 and that way you'll gain more battery life than any brightness settings.
Its already flashed to. 73
Was wondering why my display use percentage didnt reduce even with low brightenss, although some guys post screen shots which shows display @ 30%
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
wait...nevermind D: misread your last post. -ignorepost-
the percentage the display used depends on how long and how often you turned your screen on to do anything with the phone like web browsing etc.. display percentage is mostly the highest battery drainer you will see.. except if you are making calls all day it will be lower than the calls and it always will be the same even if you turn down your brightness... if you don't use your camera or the gallery or videos i can suggest you to turn off the Mobile Bravia Engine in Settings > Display.. thats one of the battery drainers of all the new xperias..
Thx alot, bravia engine off,
My phone with normal use ( browsing. Twitter, whataap, phone calls ) only do 7-10 hrs.
Trying my best to achive 13hrs heavy use
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
should make a big difference.. well thats my experience with the Xperia arc..
Thanx a lot for the advice.
Turned BRAVIA Engine off. Will test how the battery goes tomorrow.
We need to create a post that combines all such advices.
Strangely, today Music player was using more battery than screen ( and it was at about 35% to 45%)

[Q] Kenel Custom to Overclock

Hello I have a Samsung Galaxy 5 GT-i5500 rooted and I found CM10.1 slow so I install the application Voltage Control Extreme but it does not allow me to make a real overclock but just use my processor to the maximum. I've heard of that kernel could overclock my phone til 1300 Mhz I think, but I did not find any Custom kernel on XDA to download or on another site or can someone tell me where to download overclock kernel and how to install it if there is a particular way.
Thak You
Excuse my English.
I would not advise to overclock your phone's CPU to max than 20%. You can burn it and make a door stop with

I know it should not be too much boost but I'm not going to boost more than 10% I just need a phone that is fast enough that I can quickly navigate

You don't need to everclock to do that.
Simply install a faster browser rather than using stock one. Like Opera mini or Dolphin.
I am pretty sure that you will notice difference

I do not mean to browse internet but navigating the phone because my phone is extremely slow for a simple task such as opening the phone application

Even my S3 is slow, and suffers lag, while opening phone...
Just install a fast ROM and that should do the job for you (hopefully)

Dull colour display for quick settings in themes other than blue(default)

I just noticed that the themes other than default one(blue) have very dull colour display for quick settings in navigation bar. Is this some battery saving strategy?? or something else??

Post a screen shot and let you know whether it's the screen or the software bug.

Do one thing check the screen shots on computer if they are looking good then your mobile display might be bad and if they are looking bad on computer display then it might be problem with firmware bug.
Just check and let us know.

thanks.. it means its by default and every z ultra user has the same theme contrast and colour??( somewhere dark and dull)
Yup, it's the theme colour combination which makes it different.
Chill and enjoy.

Its default in 510. Previous firmware has more saturated colors in their quick setting buttons. But the "softer" look in the 510 is better, in my opinion.
Yeah, it looks like Sony dimmed the colors a fair bit. Looks better now IMO since i'm not a fan of "neon" like colors (ala Samsung).
Really don't like new colors. Washed 10 times not just dimmed.

no probs man just like to see support
Just flashed this and after one battery cycle I can say that this ROM is on par with stock on battery and about 1 more hours of standby time compared to cm7.2 fxp150. Overall performance is satisfactory on 1.2ghz (LuPuS GB) asphalt 7 runs well with only slight lag while 2D games like angry birds run very well. Subway surfers is also very Smith and is up to par with my galaxy note

This Rom can't restore my .vcf file which contains all my contacts and i don't know how to restore it, what do you suggest??
Edit: There are minor bugs like this that i can't restore .vcf file or the battery when charging, but the rom is very stable and smooth. Awesome work
Looks very nice. And great name

Nice and smooth rom but i see a huge battery drain when screen on, and force closes. On running apps i see 280Mb free and 34 used, what setting allow to have such high free ram? Is the minfree or swap on sd enabled or something?
Thanks
