[Q] Galaxy s2 bootlooping??? (help! only 13 years old,completely novice!!!) - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi guys. can somebody please help me with my issue?
it happens like this, the phone just freezes for a moment and then it moves to the "S" boot screen. when the unlock screen appears and i try to unlock it,it freezes again and then boots. my solution is taking the battery out. yeah,it works for a while(usb and sd card are mounting and usual stuff loading)
,but the widgets arent loading...
and then again, 2 minutes after rebooting, the loop starts again!
here are some possible issues i read about:
A:sd card causing bootlooping,
B:application app2sd pro causing problems.
i really dont know anything about rooting,or kies,or odin (if im correct)
and i dont want to reset my phone.
running stock rom 4.0.3 (with TW) and 325 installed apps.
350mb free storage on phone,2.56 gb of memory on internal sd and external is 339mb. there are about 46 500 files on sd cards in total
please....
HELP!

From recovery menu, wipe your phone and try to open it.
NOTE: This will reset your phone to factory settings.

I guess any method we try to help you with will lose your 300+ apps :O

thanks anyways... my phone just rebooted again
maybe ill try rooting some day when im less scared

hi again. figured it out it was my 4.5 year old sd card that was unreadable...
but i moved it to my old desire and it worked fine.
now its time to hunt for a 16gb sd card

Wait, apps2sd? I used to use that with my Hero, why on earth are you using it now?
I suspect that is the majority of your problem.

why? does the app have some kind of bug?

Newer Android versions (2.2+) have option moving apps to card natively.

So what, apps like adobe flash dont move to sd without app2sd
IF YOU LIKE MY WORK, THANK ME BY THE BUTTON BELOW

Because apps like this aren't designed to sit in sdcard.

The stock settings app does the same, and it dont move apps to your Sd card but to the internal sd.

Please help with storage problems

Hey guys,
I'm having a weird thing happen with my internal storage on my phone.
I'm using stock XWLP7 firmware.
When I try and install an app it says I haven't got enough space, it tells me to delete 1.6gb (I'm trying to install a large Gameloft game)
Sure enough I look in settings-storage and I only have around 700mb available, but I should have ALOT more...... Where has it all gone?
I'm totally stumped and would be very great full for some help.
Here's a screen shot to explain my issue.
If I deduct the used memory from my total 11.49gb I should have 9.8gb spare! It tells me I only have 745mb available, does anyone know where it's gone? lol
Or why this happens?
Thank you guys!

Get app called sd maid and go through each section clearing stuff.
If you got cwm, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache, fix permissions and reboot.
Thats all i can offer, it may work!?
IRONY = XDA app, buggy and doesn't work properly!
Mod Edit - do not advocate warez
Thank you for your advice
I already have pro version if SD maid and regularly go through each section deleting stuff.
I also regularly wipe cache and dalvik cache. Probably do them both almost every other day!
Fix permissions whenever I install an app and I also zipalign all my apps.
So I don't really know what's going on..... It's really puzzling me.

The free storage displayed by the system usually only reflects the sdcards partition status, while the low space warning is probably talking about your /data/ partition.

so I only have 7 gb galaxy s3 I hope many people would be having this problem
so the thing I want is can I store thumbnails on extsdcard

My advice is too leave everything that is on the internal memory as default where they are.
They are there for a reason.

Why not? In the camera settings you can choose where to store your pictures. Mine are always stored on Extsdcard. Everytime I flash a new ROM (and I flash a lot beleive me) I use Revolution HD super-wipe so it clears my internal cards completely. By putting them on my Extsdcard I never lose them(still you should make backup all the time just in case).

[Q] can´t install and update apps

Hello i´m from germany so my english isn´t so good and i hope you understand my problem. Since a few days i can´t update apps because i become a error report which says no more space but i have 2 GB internal memory free?. 2 or 3 days later i can´t install new apps too. I have the stock rom 4.2.2 with root, TWRP and Hacker Kernel. I hope you can help me.. I also tried to install a custom rom but i don´t find a rom that is better then stock and at custom rom my wifi can´t be enabled.
Help...
Nobody have an idea?
Google Play is only supposed to prevent you from downloading apps when you have 200MB of internal storage or fewer. However, I've seen this same problem at other random numbers like 400MB. Unfortunately, I've never seen the problem as high as 1.4 GB.
Although you aren't supposed to have this problem, you can definitely try freeing up space and seeing if the problem persists. If you have 3GB of free internal space and you still cannot download apps, there is a problem with Play. If the problem goes away, I would recommend buying an SD card where you can keep most of your data, and you will still be able to update your apps.

In your screenshot, it looks like 4.7GB is being taken up by media. If that is your internal SD, try moving the media to your 64GB SD. See if updates work then.

The only way to solve the problem you are having would be to isolate it. If you clear up some memory and apps start updating, you know that your phone has a limit of 2GB. In that case, always keep over 2GB free and try to move more data to SD. (I still don't understand how Whatsapp takes so much memory) If apps don't update after you clear the space, you know that Google Play isn't working the way its supposed to, and should probably contact support on their end.
Sorry I wasn't of too much help for you. Good luck!

Have you got an external sd card? If so it could be faulty. Try running without it inserted.

Seems really the problem of SD card
It works normally without the SD card
But how can i solve the problem?
Get a new card, duh...
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Try to first repartition the card. In many cases there are permission errors made by the stupid person who don't unmount the partition before pulling the card from the device or computer. But it could also be that the card is broken with it's hardware. Good luck..
Thanks all of you
after 3 times format the card
Seems OK now .......
But one more thing is i cannot play Real Racing 3, after loading then just crash
i dont think this also the problem of my SD card

Sd card issues - solved

Hi guys,
I recently bought an s4 and my 32gb sd card acts weird with it: can't rename files in any other file manager but only with the stock one, can't save camera recorded videos to the SD card only to device memory, when trying to save or to SD card the video disappears. I wonder if this is a sd card issue or a software glitch. I fully reformatted the card but the issue persists.
Anyone with the same experience maybe?
Thank you a lot

You can't save anything to the SD card or write on it at all, Google killed write access with kitkat.

It's interesting, can anything be done about it? I'm not even sure what Kitkat exactly is but it seems like it's not an SD card error at all. As I said I can move staff from memory to SD card but can't seems to directly save pics or videos from an app to throw sd card. Thanks guys for helping me with this. Really appreciate it

I think I have found the solution, the stock apps would let me do all the stuff I want, others I would download, do not. For example, the stock camera would let me save to the sd card the one I have from the playstore would not. I think I can live with that knowing that its a sofware issue.
