[RESOLVED] Bricked help please - TG01 General

In trying to unlock the phone via part posts on here, I managed to brick the phone. I've followed lot's of useful threads on unbricking but must be missing something?
At the moment phone is vibrate and green led for 2/3 secs when powered on, then straight off. I can bridge pin 1 & 3 and see the phone/port on TG downloader. When using TG downloader with varying roms it goes all the way to 100%, sucess but still green led and vibrate momentarily and then shuts off.
Must be something simple and any ideas would be really appreciated.
Phone is obviously not totally dead, but I'm not doing something right?
Thanks,
D

did you flashed a .bin file?

[Q] stupid girlfriend

so she bought a new phone without even powering it on.. she came to my house and later said it was stuck on a boot up image that read team whiskey, im no phone buff so i have no idea what going on. i put out a help post on craigslist and i was referred here for help..
so please let me know whats going on with this
BTW its a samsung vibrant
Awesome. At least she made the right choice in purchasing the phone from someone who used the right ROM.
What you're going to need to do is either get the phone into Recovery Mode or ODIN back to stock.
I'm guessing you will need to ODIN back to stock as it's stuck on the boot screen. Do a search in the Development forum and look for the latest ODIN package where it includes the ODIN program and the necessary files to bring the phone back to stock (.tar, .pit, etc.)
There are walkthroughs on how to run the program as well.
If it says Team Whiskey then it probably has the newest Bionix ROM. One of the best to have on it. If it is the first boot after the cache is cleared it can take 10 minutes for it's first boot to rebuild the cache. If it is the first boot after the ROM was flashed you should wait a full ten minutes for the ROM to complete its initial setup and then reboot it. Since you don't know I would wait anyhow, it can not hurt. DON'T TOUCH THE PHONE DURING THESE INITIAL TEN MINUTES OR IT WILL BE BUGGY.

However, if its stuck at boot as the OP stated, then Odin to stock is probably going to be his best bet. The third link that was posted by T313C0mun1s7 is the place to start.
You have some work to do OP, you're best bet is to Odin back to stock, and you will find the resources needed in the Vibrant Bible linked above. Good luck.
Bottom line Franky is this:
It's not un-fixable. The posters here are correct in that if you can see the logo you're seeing, then it's more than likely fully recoverable and can be a great phone. The post here that has provided you links is a very good one. Best thing you can do is read all the "noob" guides/FAQ/bible threads that are stickied to the top of most of the categories in the Vibrant section. They contain a TON of useful info. If you can use a PC and have the correct USB cable, you can get it done.
And if you do get it back up and running, and she got a deal on it, she might not be so stupid after all!
A quick background for you on terms and what's what since you are not familar with the phone
The Vibrant was originally sold with a software operating system Android 2.1 The version of that system was JFD which, the letters are code for version and release date. So, when you read all the numbers/letters they are talking about newer versions... the latest and greatest.
I would 1st try turning on the phone and let it sit for 10-15 min and see if the previous person did not complete the installation process. If it goes to the home screen, then you are good to go. If not, then you will need to Odin back to stock.
If you can see a logo, the the phone will respond to software via Odin. Odin is a software you load on your desktop computer , it opens a menu that kinda looks like an custom excel sheet. In the upper left corner when you plug in the phone to connect to the desktop with Odin already open,it will say com 0 , com8 or something what it reads out is less important what is important is it recognizes the phone. From there the noob guide will explain everything else.
This is a super phone, especially because you can modify it so easily and it is REAL hard to permanently brick (permanently break). Read the bible and members S15274N noob guide......... his sticky in general is pretty complete and very easy to understand. If you get stuck come back to the forum and we will help you solve. Good luck
In the Noob guide it will have the drivers Odin and the other utilities you will need.
odin back to stock
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803492
How much did she pay for it? If it was like $500 +, then yea, that was really stupid but if she got it for under $150 because it was supposedly "broken", then she had unintentionally made a smart buy. The seller would've been the stupid one for not researching on how to revive their Vibrant.
Send me a PM and I'll be glad to help!!

thanks to all you guys
but i think this phone has taken a turn for the worse,
i was away for the day visiting my son, so i was not able to try and repair the phone..
well i came home to see this dumb bi**ch standing with the phone..
apparently she had her brother try and repair it and now it wont even show the team whiskey logo. all it does is show the vibrant/samsung image then it shuts off and repeat over and over
if anyone here is near anaheim california i'd gladly appreciate any help from you
This phone is really resilient, and if you're still getting images on the screen, you can still fix it. The trick is to get it into download mode, which can be hit or miss, and may take several tries. There are different methods posted around the internet, but for mine, I hold the vol+ and vol- and then plug in the usb cable connected to the computer. If it goes into download mode, then you're home free. Once you Odin it back to stock, you can go anywhere from there.

SGII -I9100G stuck on bootloop

Hi my process of root and installation gone very bad. now my mobile does not power up by itself but only when its connected with PC via USB cable it flashes intermittently, please see the attached photo.
How it happens:
1. SG II was okay and functional so i entered into recovery mode and did wipe clean of data and then cache.
2. Entered into download mode and tried Odin and install custom Rom but there were few rejected attempt.
3. Odin was terminated and mobile battery removed to try again
4. It shown me "software update failed logo" plz see image i uploaded.
5. my phone still connectable with Odin, so i flashed it with "MyGKernelV1.1.1_CWM5.tar" as we found it in one forum to fix this error message.
6. Took battery out and this boot-loop stuck on my mobile. (See the first image uploaded, its kind of screen saver as this logo keep going on n off)
Odin 3 does not register it connected on my PC, i cannot enter into recovery or download mode.
Please, let me know if anyone got idea to fix it, will appreciate lot, as after 3-4 hours search through numerous forums and pages, i am frustrated.
Pictures uploaded to show my case are searched online to be close enough but they represent same problem.
Regards
Sunny

That's forced download, get a stock ROM meant for your device and flash it via odin.
Now that I think about it the only thing I saw was the pic you posted so I dunno if your pc sees your device.
if it does, cool.
If it doesn't try another cable/port/pc/re install kies and on and on. Check the last page of the phistachio thread about unbricking, there's a lot of guys with that exact problem.
PS: I didn't want to edit it either so I kept typing. Crazy.

...thanks again ...your words sounds nice to me and i will give it a go..

Since it's showing you that forced download screen (it's the device's way to beg you to flash something because as it for now, nothing is working for it) I can tell you that is not THAT bricked just yet. You just need your pc to see it.
Try other Odin versions and make sure you get the right ROM for your device.
BTW, are you sure it's a I9100G device? did you check under the battery?
Before i started wiping and cleaning it, i made note of its model no, baseband etc ...so all that info is right.
Also, to give you better idea, this mobile current state is this one attached again..it keep flashing this screen info when connected with laptop otherwise it stays blank.

Pinned "help" links ALL dead

Hi,
I recently tried update my i9100 galaxy s2 to lollipop... but I think I had the wrong kernal or something..
My phone boots and works.
but I have no root
I have no or am unable to access recovery.. (I have tried multiple vol up combinations)
I can get into settings and enabled developer area.. but setting crashes whenever I try to enter developer... so I cant activate usb debug mode
I can enter odin/download mode (volume down) but I cannot find any file to actually load.
So far the only file I have found is: I9100-CPW-XWLSW-20130529.zip from rapidgator .. which is so rapid it still has 4 hours to go! (3 hours later... download failed!)
Please can someone point me towards a file I can use to access recovery, thanks
I have searched.. links are all either dead, or my antivirus blocks.. thanks
update: so I have found SiyahKernel at http://www.gokhanmoral.com/
I know this isn't compatible with lollipop but I just need to get recovery.... sadly now I still don't have recovery and now the phone wont boot... but I can still access download
update: http://galaxys2root.com/cwmtwrp-recovery/ this tar .. same result
update: This recovery IS the only one I can get work via odin...
update: Philz Touch to the rescue... gives me recovery, need to install an old rom (I tried reinstall lollipop).. doh
You can get stock from sammobile.com it requires registration but just make something up... or use mine user: butterballs pass: 12345678
update: So in the end, installed SlimSaber 4.4.4.... hope the links are useful

May you please mark this problem "solved" to remove confusion. Also, why is the thread title starting with 'pinned'? Great to hear you solved your problem, and also, welcome to the slimsaber community (or again if you've flashed it before) (my questions are just out of curiosity)

I wouldn't say it is solved. More by-passed, It says Pinned... as in pinned "help" links are all dead... AS in, whilst trying to fix this issue I (sensibly?) used the pinned (stickied) threads first. And found that ALL the links are dead or now point to threads with dead links or point to sites my antivirus blocks (I could over ride the block, but I would not want to flash whatever is on offer so... ). It was not an attempt to make my post appear pinned.
And I been running SlimSaber for ages, I use my gs2 as a satnav and after a recent map update it seems to crash/freeze often. I thought lollipop might fix it, instead I had this heartache... I'm not a regular flasher :silly: I tend to do it when it stops working properly.. so I think the weekly I had previously dated back to mid last year.
(not sure how to mark it solved.. but I'm guessing you has the power.. if you'd be so kind)

So technically, the links aren't dead since they are working for me and because of how your antivirus was misbehaving, but they were dead for you. Yeah, lollipop isn't as stable as it should be and so I guess we have to wait a little longer (probably give 2-3 months or more depending on progress). What GPS/sat nav were you using?

What anti virus you use? I use eset. .. Although those particular links might work for you. Clearly they are not uniformly available to everyone... And only 2 links were blocked the rest were dead... or in the case of rapidgator not reasonably usable... The help pages are mainly for newbs (and a percentage of these will (rightly or wrongly) be using eset)? Yet they are not really (imo) fit for purpose anymore... I hoped pointing that out might encourage someone to give them a little love.
I just use the bog standard Google map. I just sold my garmin 3598lmt-d (apparently garmins flagship satnav) as I prefer the free one with Google maps. Limitations are it forgets which way you were facing as soon as you stop moving. And it is susceptible to urban canyon signal issues... I use the phone as my satnav (my other phone is gs3 with carbonrom... ). .. I am toying with the idea of getting an android tab or a windows tab to use as a satnav.. Asus do an android tab with GPS and glonass built in, and it is easy to get a USB gps/glonass dongle for windows.

Can't start after screen replacement

I got a P9000 in the late spring, and have been really happy with it. Unfortunately I dropped it on the ground, and the screen cracked, after which the touch function did not work (but the phone did) I finally managed to get a new screen from China, and it has been installed by a local shop dealing with mobiles. However, the shop told me they could/would not deal with anything else but changing the LCD screen. The phone switches on (I can hear starting jingles and emails downloading etc) but the screen just turns from black to dark blue and stays that way. I have been trawling through the forums, but not sure what to do next. Take it that I need to flash it, and have followed the instructions given here, but it just seems to time out. Anyone got the patience to walk me through this?

You are in a boot loop. This is not a bad sign, now you know the screen works. It's normal that you have to flash the Rom again after replacing the screen. if you use flashtool, start download in flashtools before you connect your phone to the PC, then hold vol+ on your P9000 and connect the phone to the pc.

After a couple of tries, I did manage to get this working. Initial failure seemed to be me not pressing the "Vol +" button. Thanks very much for your help

P9000 screen replacement
Hi . I had my p9000 about 2 months when I sat on it and cracked the screen, the casing was very slightly curved so I gave it to a shop to repair, now nearly 2 months later they say they can't get it to start up. They tried a new battery and I told them what I'd read on this forum regarding flahing the rom but They gave me back the phone with a new screen and nothing else, so I told them i'm not paying for 1/2 a repair and told them to remove the new screen and give me back the phone as it was . What do you think could be the problem if a repair shop cannot repair a screen and install new sorftware is there hope for it?
Hi, i broked my screen again so i am not a newbie about this... but this time after flashing the Phone show nothing at all... the small LED Dot is shining when android is boot, so i dont think the cable is connected wrong. The touch works fine..What can it be??

Need help with bricked device

I bricked my Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 (YTS-X50F) this morning.
Trying to flash as ROM to get an update. it said it worked fine, rebooted and well ... I'm here aren't I.
Here is the thing, its somewhere between a soft brick and a hard brick.
If I try to power it down (or force it to turn off) I can hear it go through the motions. It plays the super obnoxious, deafeningly loud start up sound and vibrates. But the screen isn't readable. In some light you can kind of sorta make out the lenovo logo.
At one point I let it go through the motions, I could tell when I tried to swipe to unlock it worked (it vibrated when I did it from the wrong side and chimed when I did it right). I could kinda sort of make out stuff on the screen. but it wasn't in English. It was all as if someone had the screen brightness all the way down.
I know if I press and hold power and Vol+ it should go into Recovery and I could reset to factory etc. I just can't see that screen to do that!
Are there any kind of tools to force that from my computer? If I plug it into my computer and its on, my laptop recognizes its there.
I know I posted in the Lenovo forums, but I wanted to post here in a more general area in case other Android experts have ideas.

Even once I bricked my lenovo.
For lenovo no recovery needed to fix using pc. Actually while flashing you don't even have to power on your device.
How to Download firmware from here as shown in the video. ( tutorial for downloading firmware. )

Thank you. Giving this a try. I tried Android Studio but couldn't seem to get it to work - however its a pretty impressive developer tool, that is complicated and has more than I need.

Hate to pester you but I've been searching on this all day with no luck. I've got Stock frimware downloaded (zip file) and extracted. Yet I can not seem to locate the scatter file required to use the SP Flash tools. Most sites say "includes scatter file" yet no zip file seems to have it included (yes I've tried it more than one place).
