[Q] Echo during call - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there was going to search but its unavailable. I have a rooted S3 with omega v7 and the franco kernal and am very happy with the performance. The only problem is during a call i can hear my self echo and its about 1-2 sec after i have spoken? Do you reckon it could be beacause of the kernel or something wrong with the phone? Sorry if this has been already asked.

What modem are you on?

Are you sure it's not the other phone?
The delay could be about right.

A network problem on HTC Amaze 4G

Hi,
I am using Amaze 4G in Turkey (3G 2100 network) and installed Revolution HD rom on it. That has solved the battery issue..
Everything seems perfect except, it drops the line just in the first 30secs of a call. 70-80% of my calls fails like this.
I observed that signal level becomes zero and call is dropped then. Every time I need to recall and this second call goes normal..
This problem exists before & after the revolution hd rom.
May anyone help me in this issue?
Thanx in advance...

Galaxy Ace freezs (sometimes)

Hey.
I have a Galaxy Ace, and usually I was using it with the original firmware of Samsung (Vodafone Portugal operator).
Last week after long periods of inactivity the mobile just stops to work for an hour or something like that, I mean the screen just does not answer to my touches.
So I thought it was some software problem, and I decided to install the CM7. The problem continues. So now, very often when I wake up, my mobile doesn't work for a while (even if i disconnect the battery... just work if I let the battery out of the phone for around 10 minutes).
I recorded a video with the problem of the phone.
Any help would be fantastic.
Thanks in advance.

U mean install another rom?
And when it freeze do you have wifi turned on? If yes try to set in wifi settings no turning wifi off while is screen locked...

I don't think so, but I will make the test tonight.
I'll post the results tomorrow.
Yeah a stock rom(ddkq or kph ones) then install icsunday2 ...
Best combo
...
........
.............
Reason-these rom's are scratch roms like cm7 or icsunday they need a Stock rom or baseband to work.the Roms like sangingeracelite change ur baseband.that's why changing ur baseband might help

Try to check your device in service...
Good luck man
I checked the Wi-Fi thing, and today the phone worked good. So I guess that is not the reason.
Yeah, it will be the best option. I've to go to a Samsung service.
I will post the news ASAP.
Thank you all!
in stock rom have problems with wifi too
after installation cm have no problem more

S3 performance decrease after new 4.1.1 update?

So I updated my S3 to the latest Android version 4.1.1 and ever since i've had some issues. Firstly, it's taken a hit on it's performance, it's nowhere near as quick and responsive as it was before I updated (this is the first firmware update i've done since having it)
I've also noticed that my phone doesnt vibrate when receiving text messages. With sound on, the sound does make the noise it's supposed to, just no vibration, also when the actual phone is on vibrate mode, texts dont vibrate when received - the phone vibrates when I receive calls though.
I've checked the settings and everything is how it should be, so i'm not sure why this happens - has anyone else noticed this and also, how can I roll back to the previous firmware version!?
I have been using custom roms on my gs3 since day one ( 4 and a half months ago ) so i cant comment on performance of stock roms, but my my phone is faster than ever with Insert Coin 2.3.1 JB. Considering custom roms are based on official roms i would suggest doing a hard reset cause your device should be faster after the update. To enable the vibration you must do it within the settings of the message app. Open messages, press the menu button and enable vibration. Excuse my english. Hope this helps.

First day with custom rom user too.
I suggest ditching the stock firmware and try some custom one.
It's easy and no harm can be done(if you do it right of course)
The one i settled in the end is Foxhound so i'd reccomend you to use that one.
You can skip the kernel part and have the stock one but there are lots of good ones out there,so i'd suggest to start with Yank Lou kernel or galaxiysh since those are close to stock and don't need user adjustments.
If you need something more advanced to give you control try Perseus(i'm using this right now) or Siyah.
Cheers,George.
Try drewgaren jellybean rom... Search on the forum

factory reset .... not always necessary after an upgrade ... but if there are any performance issues after flashing often sorts things - I ALWAYS did a factory reset after flashing my old SGS1 as it was very susceptible to flakey performance post-flashing for example.
...and upgrading from ICS to JB ... I'd reset if not completely happy.
That is true. Real multitasking was gone on JB.

My S3 also was very slow first. Then suddenly it ran fast a few hours after the update. Now again the launcher very often hangs up.

I don't think it is anyhow faster than ICS it only looks faster through modulation of the animations.
Anyhow it is not slower after all though the benchmarks suggests it might be a bit slower.
I think that data wiping can fix many issues. if you would like to go back to ICS, all what you need is to visit samfirmware.com ,download your suitable rom and flash it through Odin which I prefer so much over the OTA
problem with charging
hey guys i am facing a problem with charging my s3 ever since i did the official update to jelly bean a few days ago the problem is that it is taking about 10 hrs to just finish charging from 10-15% of battery to 100% this is one of the major reason why i finally decided to root and finally install a custom rom but it doesn't that the problem is fixed as my phone is on charging as i post its battery level just went from 9% to 25% in the last 2 hrs. can any body pls post any help regarding this problem that i'm facing? I shall point out that before the update my phone would charge up from 10% to 100% in 2-2.5 hrs

Thanks for your input guys, I think I might look into getting a custom ROM. I won't mod my phone too heavily, maybe find a nice battery saving app and also a few performance tweaks. It seems like there's so many out there I don't know which one to choose! I flashed my HTC sensation when I had it and for that I used the android revolution HD and didnt face any issues (that I can remember) so I might use this, or just see how I go. I havent looked too much into flashing for the S3 so I guess I best start looking!
Guys,
So i've just rooted my phone and installed the android revolution HD ROM by mike1986 and its ALOT faster than when it was on stock!
Whilst i'm here, what's the BEST way to save battery life? I know they're mentioned all the time but has anyone actually noticed any difference when trying to save it at all?
i must say JB is very good in performance..
using Omega v31 here... damn smooth

I found that vibration issue as well but yer must turn it on through messages. pefromance wise I love jelly bean compared to ics so much more snappier and I never did a factory reset.

[Q] Echo while on call

Hi all,
hope you can help, it's a problem i had for a long time but never bothered to look for a solution for it.
The problem is simple, sometimes when on call i hear an echo of myself, most of the time it's not there, but there are certain numbers i call and i get this echo.
I don't have noise reduction option enabled, and i read somewhere it might be the sd card or the case, well it's neither.
I have i9300, currently on Wanam v5.6 (XXEMA2), stock kernel.
I had this problem for sometime now, so i don't believe the build or the modem is an issue.
Thanks in advance.

Poor sound quality in phone calls since updating to CM 10.1.3

Hey, since I upgraded to CM10.1.3 I have noticed reduced sound quality in phone calls.
When the person in the other end is talking quietly there is a very noticeable gating effect. When the person stops talking or talks very quietly, the sound on my end is muted. When the sound gets above a certain threshold the sound comes through again, but the first syllable is often cut off, as the gate opens too slow.
I came from neatrom (4.1.2 based) and have not had any similar problems before. How do I fix this? Should I try flashing a new radio?

Install dorimax kernel and using stweaks raise master volume to 3db in sound tab.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Thanks! Dorimanx did the trick! I tried Siyah first, and that did not work, phone could not boot. Dorimanx however works fine! The gating is gone.
Raising the master volume is not necessary, but I'll give it a try! Thanks again!
