Wireless doesn't work on 407 (olleh); Wifi does work - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I updated to 2.3.3 and everything went fine at first.
But now my wireless connention doesn't work anymore. It shows the logo E or H at the taskbar but no data can be transmitted.
Wifi works like a charm.
The device is rooted and superuser working. For switching my settings I use widgetsoid.
I used Busybox 1.20.1 but another app said it would't work on this device. So I went back to 1.94. Could this have caused my problem?
Network Info 2 shows no external Ip adress even if the logo is showing.
Any ideas?
thanks for your help!

Try retype your apn manually as 407 Olleh rom lock the apn, or change the apn lock value =0 in buildprop.

It does sound like your APN info needs configuring. After doing so dont forget to save.

[Q] No data connection after R2BA026 + market fix?

I ran the one click exploid .apk root updater/market fix/root today and everything is working properly EXCEPT my data connection. I've looked through settings and stuff to see if I had to manually connect to the network or something and had no luck.
My phone is an X10a and I'm with Rogers. I haven't called the carrier to see if there's anything they can do, I figured I'd check here first.

Might help to say I'm using a Galaxy S Continuum
and the only reason I'm posting here is because this is the only topic similar to my issues.

I couldnt figure it out either, so just used Wifi to get myself going...
Turns out 2.1 doesn't support two factor authentication with Google accounts, (at least I couldnt get it to work) so you may need to turn that off too to get going.

Wireless Tether on ics

Is there a guide to getting the Fascinate to work with any of the wireless tether apps? I tried several and not able to connect. I just installed ics - didn't have a problem before.
And thanks

Is your root working? Many apps have settings for galaxy nexus device and netd master. Those work for this phone.

I had the same problem for a while but then figured it out.
Download WiFi Teather from the app store then hit menu button and go to settings. Change the device profile to generic ics and it should now work just fine.
Click on the button to start it and it should turn yellow and show some stats for download/upload kb etc.
All set. After that you can enable/disable access control so that you can select who to allow internet access to from your phone.
Hope this helps.

Tethering in Illuminati 4.4.1

This ROM is great! Got MMS working by using Textra and making some adjustment to make it Virgin Mobile.
Anyone have any insights on how to get Tethering working. I get the message "tethering started with errors. Check Log file" THe log file shows 3 fails: Configuring AP, Starting AP, ,Configuring IP Address.

the tether built in works for me. is this what your using are u using wireless tether app?
I think I'm using the built in. It comes up in my app drawer. (Yellow WiFi symbol). Version 3.2-beta2***BETA***.
It worked fine while I was on UNsensible ROM.
If this is not the Built in where is it located?
(I restored my Titanium back ups and everything worked fine, but maybe that caused a "disconnect")

ok that is not the native tether ap. for some reason i was never able to get the one u are trying to use to work with any non sense roms after ics. cm comes with its own app. go into settings, wireless & networks more, tethering and hotspot. u can also add it as a tile on the quick settings panel

Thanks. Found it and it does show up now, and connects.
BUT, my laptop can't access the internet. I'll need to check the settings some where.
U may need to change the default password on the tether app or just turn off the the security

I turned off security. SID showed up, and I could connect, but there is no internet.
That's weird. Try wiping caches
