My SIII screen keep auto lightning up (and turn off) 3 to 5 times for every ~5 minutes without any notifications or messages incoming. Can anyone help me to fix this error?
Sorry if this topic is already posted. I tried to search for the similar topic but the search engine seem to be unavailable now. And after looking in about 10 pages in SIII Q&A forum I gave up @[email protected]
Do you have any apps installed that need active connections or precise timing.
(E.g. ClockSync, ...)
same thing here.
Hi I also experienced the same thing after updating to the current firmware thru Kies (im currently at i9300XXALF6) but before updating it I didn't have this symptom before, also my friend is experiencing this after the update also.
It just shows the lock screen for no reason.

hey there guys,
i updated the rom of my HD2 with the latest version available on Htc site. the problem now is that time changes by itself and though i have checked "get time from the internet " it can`t update corectly
gmt+2 is set , i put the time corect and after some time it goes by itself one hour or 2 in advance, sometimes even more.....don`t know where the problem is.....
I connect it to the internet and though it sees my location good it can`t get and keep the right hour!
What could be the problem??
Thanks
Try search next time. There are several discussions about this. This works for me.
Go to Settings\ Menu\ All settings\ Personal\ Phone\ Gsm/umts Services\
Time Synchronisation\ Then press Get Settings, Unselect the box and press ok!
seems to be working for me.
I´m also having this problem.
A few ours after setting the correct time, it´s suddenly several ours of - often as much as 1.5 day of actually.
I have hardreseted but the problem is still there.
I have also tried the solution above without success.
Does anybody know whats going on?
Hello.
I'm having problems with my Samsung GT-I9000 ( Galaxy S 1 ), and was hoping I could get some help here.
About 4 maybe 5 months my phone has been having crashes (Is as close as I can explain them)
This is what happens:
- Talking to somebody on Whatsapp (for example, but it also crashed on me while playing games, and even when calling)
- I lock the screen and lay the phone down
- After about 2-3 seconds, the screen lights up. And shows me the conversation but does not respond
- Phone goes black for about 5 seconds
- Light vibration
- Screen shows the lock screen, loads my background and scans for media
This happens randomly about 5-10 times a day now. (Depending on how much I use the phone)
It also sometimes just turns off without any animation or sound.
What have I tried:
I first thought it was the ROM, I'm sorry if I make mistakes here but I'm a noob.
The ROM was put on there by a friend of mine, it was called Darky's ROM.
I tried to put a differed ROM on it, but the tutorials failed on me and I killed the phone. Not the "Black screen of death" but beyond that point. It wouldn't even turn on anymore.
Then I send it back to the provider, they took 2 weeks to fix it and I had my phone back. I think they put the default ROM on it but I'm not sure.
Anyhow, this did not fix the problem. As soon as I had my phone back from repair, it still crashed.
I have also updated the phone with Samsung Kies, as shown in attachment 1
Now I don't know if I should send it back again, since they couldn't fix it in the first place, or to just live with it.
The phone's "About phone" page is attachment 2
Thanks everybody for taking the time to look into this.
It's the default ROM they put on again.
I have a friend with the same phone and her's is acting so slowly for such powerful device!
Try setting up a new ROM. I know it's hard, but it's better with the no-lag fix etc...
i heard Darky's Rom is really good, but I bet there are other ROMs who are amazing.
Tutorials are kinda hard to follow for that device, but you can do it
But putting a new ROM on it didn't help.
I can believe the default slows it down, but this problem started on the Darky's rom, and is also still happening with the default.
Is not so difficult, you can change a ROM in like 10min. Try to update your phone to ICS, I'm using ICSSGS and it's blazing fast

Thanks I missed that one.
And thanks Dante for trying to help, but as I said before, changing the ROM did not help, nor updating it.
Anybody else any ideas?
...anyone?
Hello friends,
Am currently on the 26th Nightly. Issue is am getting annoying popups on the screen informing me about my data usage. Googling a little told me that I have to disable Cell Broadcast in CB settings but am not able to find this screen anywhere. Question is
1) Is the CB settings screen present in CM9? If yes where is it?
Searched the forums and internet but found no solution
Any help will be appreicated. Thanks
not sure if this is the same thing but i also had a data usage warning that appeared (not a popup) and that was resolved by Settings>Data usage> and lifting the warning level. hope that in some way helps, i couldn't find the CB setting either
The data usage warning is something different than this problem. This is the message which keeps popping up from my carrier saying "I have used XX kb. Remaining balance is YY kb".
This started happening when I installed the latest modem.

Searched for it either. Can not find it.
I need it for NL-Alert in the Netherlands. An alert is send on channel 919 and monday is the test in whole the country.
Is there an App that supports it?

For my xperia pro Ill try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182167
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164711
...and come back in a few days
(bless the nandroid backups)
Too bad these settings (from that patch) aren't written in the sim, they are just intercepted and left out by the phone. Have lemons, make lemonade :highfive:
Hey everybody.
My girlfriend is having a terrible problem with her new Xperia Go. It's running the latest Stock Firmware and Kernel without Root and every time she gets an incoming call, the phone won't react for about 15 seconds and then a FC Popup appears. This happens as soon she tries to answer the call. We rebooted it and it worked as it should after a fresh boot, but as soon she uses apps like Whatsapp, Facebook and so on, the problem persists and it's kinda of frustrating. A smartphone should be able to handle those things and she's really disappointed. Thinks I've tried:
-Clear data and cache of Contacts and Phone.
-Hard Reboot
-Recently installed the latest update via OTA (I hoped the problem would get fixed, but unfortunately it's still there)
-Tried using the stock launcher since she uses Nova Launcher
If someone has got an idea of what's going on please reply this post. I don't know if I should root her phone or maybe install a custom ROM. Honestly I wouldn't like to do that since she's a Noob in Android and basically in Technology Stuff. But if that's the solution, I would do that. It's really frustrating.
Thanks! Hope anybody could help
EDIT: SOLVED!
I tried to limit the background processes in developer settings and set the maximum to 4 processes and it magically solved the problem!

Note : This is my Mom's phone. It is not mine.
The phone (Galaxy S 2) suddenly have popups of "unfortunately" notification that keeps on looping to pop out every time i tapped ok.
The phone get extremely slow and i cant access the setting or other ui.
Lets just say that the touch screen is not working. because i cant tap other interface except the notification area.
My mom said that her contact was saved in the phone but not in the google.
So what im trying to do here is, hard reseting the phone to the stock rom but i need to backup all the contacts and I cant do so.
I tried connecting to the SAMSUNG KIES but it takes lifetime to connect.
Any solutions?
sorry for my bad english.
