I just bought Samsung Galaxy S II about two days ago. I got AT&T network. It was working perfectly....
When I turned of and turned on the device, the Status Bar suddenly crashed. A popout window occur saying,
Sorry!
The application Status Bar (process com.android.systemui) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
then the only option was Force Close saying on the screen; I could not use even the Home, Back, Option keys.
I took out the simcard and when i turned on, still the same problem.
I took out the battery and put back in, still the same problem.
I could even factory reset the whole thing the Samsung Account is halting it. I was enetering the correct password..It kept saying Error Processing failed.
are there any ways to fix this problem?
thanks in advance!
this is making me upset. I like this phone a lot.

What you need to do is flash a new ROM to the device, the ROM has somehow become corrupted.. Go to Intratech's thread in the DEV section and download the latest 2.3.4 ROM and flash that using the instructions on his thread, all is well, its 99.999999999 a software problem the 0.0000000001 is because you never know
[email protected]
Thank you I will try it now!!!!!!
I see he has not packaged a 2.3.4 ROM yet so try this one, Its KF2 and is the best ROM after the new 2.3.4 ROM I was running this up to yesterday, and will be ok for you until you need to upgrade again later

my mother just bought an sgs2 about 1 week ago. she is not that expert in phones and all that, but she has a serious problem now. she made a lockscreen code witch she cant remember now. stupid right. how can u bypass it or dissable it. i must say i have tried my self almost anything i can think of
this is what i my self have tried:
factory reset / hardreset didnt work
flashing stock rom again, didnt work
flashing 3 custom roms didnt work, to mention with root kernels
and no my mom never made an gmail account. she only uses it for calling and sms
so what the hell is there to do??
or do i need take to a samsung service center???
You're likely looking at data loss by factory resetting and overloading it with wrong passwords from recovery mode.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17039887#post17039887
Though you say you've factory reset already and it didn't work - what didn't work?
when i did factory reset and rebooted the phone, it went okay, and i thought i had dissablet it, but no, when the screens turns black and u want use it again, the lockscreen keeps apper
Can't you just disable it before the screen turns off then? Settings --> Location and security --> Set up screen lock --> None.
no when trying to dissable it asks for the code, u must enter the code before able to dissable, im stuck, what should i do
I just noticed your thread [Q] screen locked, need help.

2 days ago i found a sgs2 on the ground outside at the city. the screen is totally ****ed but it still works. so i thought cool, who ever lost it, should have been more carefully, but honestly i dont care.
but when i turn it on, i can se its on cynogenmode but i cant use cause of some screen password. i have tried everything from re flash og several types of roms, including stock, cynogenmode and exonys, but all appear but it wont install new rom. i cant enter factory mode, cause when i try it says need password. so i cant do a hardreset. i have searched the net for everything, and i have tried almost possible ways to get around that screen lock, but nothing works. so how can i get rid of it??? when i press volume upp with home and turn on button it askes for passworld, when i do it with volume down, i get into odin mode. i have tried 0000 and 00000000 but still dont work. any one can help?? pls

1) Open the Messaging app>Menu>Delete>Select all at the top and delete.
And/Or
2) Try deleting data of the messaging.
This worked for a colleague of mine but in her case, she had a '1' stuck for both messaging and call log.
Seeing as the call log also shows messages, this might work for you too.
Good luck!

me too. us cellular version.
i found clearing the ram works till another message.
also go to settings. then hit developer options, you should have the "Dont Keep Activities" unticked. (works for some)
with that i found the battery doesnt last as long.
i sure this is a known issue and will be fixed soon i hope
my specs;
baseband=r530uvxlf9
let me know i want to get this figured out and fixed asap
I have tried clearing the ram, clearing phone app data, clearing messaging app data but still the same issue! Do you have any recommendation beside factory reset as I am not in favor for that option
me too have same problem ,, please help
same problem here, don't want to factory reset..this is very annoying from a flagship phone!
Same problem here
I have same problem on message, though so far I've been able to clear it by rebooting. Seem pretty dumb. I wonder if any bug report has been file to Samsung.
i also experienced this problem on messaging. i factory reseted the phone. it worked fine for a while but then again samething started happening..the second time i cleared all data on messaging app, unchecked "do not keep activities" in developer options. seems to work fine till now. and also make sure you dont have any unreaded conversation on "whatsapp messenger".

GREAT! IT WORKED! THANKS A LOT!
The 3 'clear data' seem to have only wiped the call log. Anyway I had backed up everything using Titanium PRO.
I called myself to get a missed call, the '1' appeared again, and then disappeared when I opened the log again. Hopefully the bug won't come back!
Thanks again!

I also found that if you clear the call log it'll fix the problem. It comes back once in a while but is easy to clear.

Hi, thanks! it worked with only clearing the 1st 2 data.
What i did was i cleared the 1st 2 data, worrying that the 3rd would delete all my contacts.
so i synced my contacts with kies into the computer. after disconnecting the phone the notification was gone.
Only clear data from BadgeProvider

I had the problem with a 1 stuck on my Phone icon [Samsung Galaxy S3, GT-i9300, Android 4.1.1]. This was a problem that persisted across the update from Android 4.0 to 4.1.
I followed a single step in your proposal:
-Clear data from "Badgeprovider"
And added step:
-Enter Phone app and exit.
This removed the badge, which seems fairly harmless I guess no backup is necessary for such an action.
Not to add flamebait, but coming from iOS, things like this gets on my nerve. Since I'm new to Android, I don't know if this is a bug coming from Android or from TouchWiz or something else Samsung slapped on. Please tell us if this is one argument to run vanilla Android on the S3!
Try....Settings - Application manager - All - BadgeProvider, Clear data and restart phone
it worked for me
Hi guys,
This is my first post.
I just got a Sony Z2, and yesterday I updated it to latest firmware 17.1.1.A.0.402 using flashtool. After that, everytime when I switch off my phone and turn it on, the message of "...android.process.acore has stopped" appeared.
I tried to flashed the phone again using PC Companion to re-update the same firmware. I though the error message has gone but than it is still there.
I have tried several ways as mentioned in this forum but the problem seem to be there. I don't see any problem/error caused by this error message yet.
Any idea/solution to completely remove the message?
Go into settings > apps > all apps, clear all data for anything relating to contacts then all will be fine, make sure contacts are backed up tho of course

Update: It happened again when I reboot my phone today. Is it possible a firmware bug?
I should wait for the next release, hope Sony will fix this issue.
Regards,
I'm on romaur which is 402 and haven't seen this error since I wiped contacts data so not sure, you still on stock or?

I also have the same issue as the OP. It particularly happened after I upgraded to .402 using PC companion. The message will appear always after restarting. My devices has not been rooted. Tried to clear data and cache for contact apps, but after restarting, the message appeared again. I am still lazy to do a re-install because aside from the message appearing only after a restart, there are no other major effect to my Z2's performance. but clearing it will be nice though.
I have the same thing when i touch the phone immediatly when it just restarted, but when i restart and leave it untill screen goes off i don't get the message.

Hi guys,
Thank you for your info.
I tried to disable contact sync of Viber and I think the message has temporarily gone. Sometimes it still pop up but not as often as before I disabled the contact sync of Viber.
Apparently, this problem is caused by contact synchronisation between Viber, Facebook, Messenger, Whatsapp, etc. Other users, such as Samsung phone users, reported that they have the same issue but when they turned off contact sync of the above-mentioned apps, the error message somehow has gone.
To be honest, I have just recently switched to android from iPhone, and I have been usings iOS for years and never seen any kind of issue/error like this on iOS. However, Sony Z2 is one of the greatest phone I ever owned and I am so happy with it, specially its crazy battery life.
Hope you guys will share your solution here if someone can fix it permanently.
Cheers,

i had this problem, amongst others stopping my phone. i pulled the sim card out, then rebooted the phone. the phone then showed it was updating all apps i let it boot up and it seemed to work. pulled battery and put sim card back in. and all ok so far. i have sent my phone 3 times away to vodafone for this repair, with android.clock stopping, android.phone stopped working and the phone actually crashing on the samsung screen and not even booting up. each time all they do is a factory reset. like duhhhh, i have never thought of that (sarcasm). i am hoping that doing this, will give my phone some sort of permanency in it's repair. i have not rooted the phone, it is stock.
Vodofone refused to replace the handset even though it had been in so many times for repair. word of advice. steer clear of vodafone. i am cancelling all my contracts with them.
sorry that went off topic, but i want a phone that works and vodafone will not help you in that matter.

Xperia's have unremovable batteries, maybe you should steer clear of Samsungs
Is that a good thing or a bad thing though? Cos sometimes taking a battery out is what could be needed to fix a problem.
But point taken. Perhaps a change of manufacturer would help

I know people who advocated pulling the battery from devices as the only answer but I've yet to come across a situation on any device which couldn't be handled with >adb reboot or a three finger reset.
There's actually a method on Xperia devices, to disconnect the battery and plug it back. It's called "Hard Reset". Yeah you don't take the battery out in reality, but this method does it in Matrix dimension. So, the consequences are the same.
Hi,
I have looked on internet regarding the issues on motorola razr ( 2019 ) with peek display but i couldn't find anything helpfull. The thing is that the peek display when the phone is closed is working sometimes and I can see that the screen is on when I closed the phone and try to turn on external display. I have tried to clear the cache of the display app but it didn't helped much to be honest. The phone is brand new from official website so there is not option to have a faulty phone as like I said the screen (display app ) sometimes works sometimes doesn't. I have even tried to uninstall the app update and reinstall it but still doesn't work as it should. I do not want to factory reset the phone becasue my e-sim will be removed from phone and I will have to call my carrier to send me the code again.
Whoever has a phone could you please let me know if you experienced the issue as me ? If yes and you have fixed that please tell me how as this is let's say annoying for foldable phone when extra display just not working and I fell like to stick with my old phone
I have latest Android 10 update on the phone as well.
Thanks
