Flash the proper version which can be found in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458

I had the same problem. At first I tried flashing the LPH from the Thread Pittoreski mentioned. But it did not work. Then I tried the one for gingerbread (KI3 i think). And that works! The .pit file and re-partitioned did the trick!

but i have just the I9100 version without G/P/M extention

Scroll down in the guide it's explained there how to use Odin properly.

From the FAQ section from the porting team: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739763
If this bricks your phone, and you cant boot or get kernel panic. AT YOUR OWN RISK try re partitioning and flashing a stock sammy rom in ODIN. This is what i did and it worked
You need to download this http://hotfile.com/dl/146321681/7a02...1_OXA.zip.html in odin
CODE_I9100 goes in PDA GT-I9100-CSC-Multi goes in CSC and MODEM_I9100 goes in Phone the .pit file goes in PIT in ODIN then hit start
To easily root and return to CM9(if you want) flash this http://codeworkx.de/download/cyanoge...laxys2.tar.md5 in ODIN. That will flash CM9 and CWMR
---------- Post added at 03:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:51 AM ----------
I had one.. i didnt thank flashing a cm9 zip would almost brick my phone, and it shouldn't

Now it works
i had to flash first the kernel
than flash the rom with pit and without bootloader
thanks to neerajganga :good:

[Q] ZIp to Tar for Odin Flash

Hello everyone, Well i c there are lot roms developed and to test them you need CWM kernel to flash the zip file but is there a tool that can convert them from .zip to .tar or .md5 with no wipe so it can be flashed with ODIN as i am in canada using GT9100M and if I flash some other kernels then required it goes into boot loop and cannot restore anything from backup using CWM or FLASH. Also the rom "AndyX ROM v2.0 - XWKL1 - 2.3.6 - Stable - Fast - Beautifull - Siyah 2.6.5+ - JKay" is in zip and different language and same with other roms can the language be changed to english and converterd to be flashed with "NO WIPE" using odin.
Please help.

Such a tool isn't needed, just flash a cf-root kernel for your firmware and flash the zip from cwm. Your i9100m is identical to the internationl i9100, you can flash any kernel/modem/rom that is made for a i9100.

Im sure you can change the language in the settings menu, you can't convert a rom that's meant to be flashed through cwm to odin.
Thanks for the reply. I have tried to use that kernel to restore my files but does not seem to finish it of and gets aborted and therefore I have to re-flash the entire phone. Is there a way to create a File Dump of my phone so that I can use it with ODIN?
No, you need to use cwm recovery to restore/backup roms.
Thanks. I think I found my answer through some research. Might be helpful check it out.

Stuck in Kernel Panic mode

Hi guy's, was running the original Criskelo ICS rom, noticed there was an update available for it (while browsing on the phone). Jumped onto the PC but accidentally installed the version for a Galaxy Note or something like that. It was just showing a funny screen that would bleed from black to white as it got hot. Complete newbie mistake.
I'm pretty sure that's all sorted and in the past now (but maybe there is some hangover from it?). I installed the stock ICS rom, then flashed a kernal with CWM. Now, whenever I try to install the new version of Criskelo, it flashes fine and shows no errors but everytime it goes to start it goes into kernal panic mode. Each time I need to flash the stock rom, then a rooted kernal and try again.
I have tried flashing Criskelo in the CWM app, on both the internal storage and the external SD card, have also booted into CWM mode and wiped the cache, restored factory data and wiped the davlik cache, and tried to install)
I have searched but most responses on the subject suggest re-flashing which i've tried 4 times now.
just tried to put the older Criskelo rom on and it's done the same thing, kernal panic mode.
The kernal i'm using is the one I used originally when I 1st had Criskelo rom running.
bckup ur efs and stuff an i think format the mem card an phone on pc then flash a stock on it,an if ur imei or pcode messed ,ull have a bckup u made b4 so jus do the correct stuff...sometimes u hav to take risk wen ur careless wiv the device.......hope it helps
thanks for the reply. Can I just remove the memory card and format the phone only (memory card is a 64gb)? What shall I use to format the phone? I've lost SD cards in the past using the format that's part of windows. Would hate for anything to happen to the phone.
Shall I do this process http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/07/18/how-to-hard-reset-samsung-galaxy-s-ii/
pull out your battery and put back after sometime, and vol-down+Home+Power

I've got no problem installing a standard official rom and then rooting the phone. The problem is when I want to then flash a custom rom
i've just wiped the phone, formatted it and the SD card. Still the same issue. I don't understand what's going on. I might try a different custom from and see if the same thing is happening.
have you flashed anything from ODIN befor?
this time you must install an official rom from ODIN, still dubt feel free to ask
i'm flashing the original rom via odin. That's installing fine and i'm flashing the rooted kernal through odin, that's also working. When I try to flash the Criskelo rom i'm using CWM to flash it. I don't think the rom can be flashed by odin can it? It's a zip file rather than .tar files.
If there is a way to do it via odin, i'll try that?

flash from ODIN,
i've just tried to install another custom rom, this time it just stayed on the boot screen rather than kernal panic.
I'm wiping it back to stock (ICS rom), then i'll install the kernel you just linked me to and try criskelo again, is that what your suggesting?
edit.....
Just installed the standard rom. Flashed the Siyah kernal via odin and it re-booted into kernal panic upload mode. That's not happened before. The 1st time I flashed the kernal it didn't do this.
I'm really confused...

"standard ROM" you told is ICS or GB?...it must be ICS, otherwise wont work,
I told you the Siyah kernel link which I sent you only use with an ICS ROM,
you start from biginning again, flash the official ROM (not the ICS a GB rom) and Root with CF- kernel and install your desired custom ROM, should be working fine...
Crickelo V38 is not an ICS ROM it is GB rom...
Siyah 3.x and higher is for ICS.
Siyah 2.6.14 and lower is for GB.
There are also ICS only versions of SpeedMod and other kernels.
You must pay attention to what version of Android a kernel is meant for before flashing.
I'm trying to install this rom. CriskeloServanRom SGS2 4.0.3 oficial Firm XXLPQ
The 'original' rom i'm installing is a ICS one for my phone. That flashes fine every time. When I flash a rooted kernel that also works fine, it's just flashing with CWM that's giving me these troubles
edit...
The rooted kernel is CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXX_LPB-v5.2-CWM5-PROPER.tar which matches the LPB code on my phones firmware.
Since i've been trying to flash the Siyah kernal, it's giving me the same "kernel panic upload mode". When I was flashing the CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXX_LPB-v5.2-CWM5-PROPER.tar kernel that wasn't a problem. The problem came when I tried to flash roms with CWM

[Q] accident installing ROM

hi guys, i have came here to ask for some professional advice since i am completely stuck.
i am new to android and custom ROMS. I did my research into how to install custom ROMS to my android though made a mistake.
I basically wiped my phone from the:
"ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DO THIS:
no
no
no
no
yes
no
no"
.... its now stuck on either stock recovery mode or on the screen where it shows the colorful S and the words Samsung GALAXY S II screen.
What i did
I installed clockworkMod to my android since i wanted to directly install the cyanogenMod from the clockwordMod app. i watched some you tube tutorials and did some research on how to. I followed the steps up until it was time to install the CyMod. i cant access my phone anymore to be exact but an error message along the lines of:
E: cannot install this ROM
E: another failed install message
installation canceled.
(sorry it vague, i struggle to remember the exact messsages)
So i tryed it again and the same error messages came up. previous to this stage i had taken all the backup recommendations though due to a ...Mistake i wiped everything off the phone from the example above thinking it was a step before installing the new ROM. and now im here...
I assume this is a very noob thing to do but...well everyones got to start somewhere.
my phone does not get recognized by my computer so cant transfer files into it and reboot like that so i have no idea how to get it back?
any advice or help would be great.
thanks.
**EDIT**
i am also able to access Download mode (if this helps for a solution)

im not too sure how i would do this.
i can enter recovery mode and the options i have are :
reboot system now
apply from sdcard
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
so i chose apply from sd card and the list is:
../
update.zip
update1.zip
.adc/
.adobe
ETC
but there is no 'clockworkMod' backup folder or anything which i would assume the backup is stored!!
the update.zip and update1.zip is the CyMod that didnt work (failed to verify whole-file signiture)
?
you are on stock recovery try wipe data n cache. if after reboot same problem,go in download mode n flash stock rom via odin n thn proceed as directed in Cyanogenmod threads... dont try to flash via CWM app it causes such issues...

Hi. I think i soft bricked my phone because its stuck at the logo but i can go to recovery and download mode. i even flashed ms1 stock rom with odin but without the .pit file and no changes. where can i get the pit file and is it the only way?
EDIT:in the stock recovery there is an error saying read only file system
1- You can search "softbrick" and read other users' experiences.
2- If you are looking for your stock firmware, you can search samfirmware.com or your variants development forums.
3- If you can use recovery you can nuke your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532929

No, using PIT file is not advisable as it brings more trouble to u
So since its a Boot loop issue for now, Just flash a Custom Kernel like 'Philz' from ODIN and then use its recovery to do a full wipe and then reboot ur phone and check
Search for 'Philz' kernel thread and once there read the first post carefully and act

Apparently you can't rename an md5 file , it will cause the md5 check-sum mismatch. I've rebuilt and re-uploaded:

go to download mode and flash again, if it doesn't work, go back to NK4:

Did you ever get your issue fixed?
Possible solution..
In the directions, you are instructed to install each file separately if I am reading it correctly. However, when I do that neither the modem or baseband would change. I was stuck on NH7. So I simply installed both at the same time. Power up into download mode, connect to Odin, and place the modem file in the PDA slot and the baseband file in the baseband slot. Start and then allow the phone to reboot into your rom, and you should be on OC5 now. By the way, a lot of the connection issues, and loss of data was corrected by upgrading to OC5. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the responses, I did eventually get it fixed. I was flashing using Odin 3.07, it was suggested to me to use 3.10, after looking it up and using the version recommended for LP OC5 finally took and my data returned. Thank you everyone for your help
Thank you for these files. I'm on a CM based ROM and Odin isn't connecting. Would I have to be on a TW ROM or is there something else that is not allowing my note 3 to connect? I'm on a Mac using Jodin
