Hi,
I've been writing flashable VRThemes to change some of the icons in the JKay framework's SystemUI.apk.
If I'm flashing against the stock framework the VRTheme works but, if I'm flashing against a modified version of the framework, I lose my status bar (and wallpaper)
Re-flashing the JKay framework or nandroid restore of just system doesn't bring it (them) back.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening...
Does nobody have any ideas on this?

I want to create a battery mod for odexed froyo KA6 stock using the framework-res in the lockscreen mod for it. I already flashed the lockscreen mod, and want to retain the mod, so I am taking the framework-res from it and then inputting that to UOT kitchen. It says it only works for deodex roms, however, it went through fine. I have yet to flash it. Has anyone else used UOT kitchen before? Thnx
Question, If i want to just replace the icons from the system.apk's in an odex rom, do I first need to deodex the rom or can i just do the quick (and sometimes messy) route of using 7zip to replace the res folder inside the system apk's with my modified res folder?
If I need to deodex the rom first, I'm guessing it's the same procedure to deodex an i9100 rom as it is for the i9000 rom?
Thanks!
So no-one knows if the icons can be themed without deodexing it first? I'm not asking how to do it, just if it's necessary.

I have a problem while trying to add my own custom mod from UOT kitchen.
The mod is compatible with my SGA and was flashed successfully using CWM 4.0.0.9
I have a Cyanogenmod 7.1 ROM by Cooper-Griff themed with and ICS theme by Sonny Sekhon.
The mod I created basically includes a replacement for the themed battery with a honeycomb battery as well as changing the default font to Roboto. I followed all the steps to make the UOT mod, flashed it, and mounted my /system/data in recovery mode but the changes have not been made.
I did add the theme apk while making my UOT Mod and even used Edify scrpting.
Can anyone please tell me what I've done wrong?

If I understand you well, your original framework changes when you install e.g. jkay, which is totally normal, because it is another framework based on jkay's work, hence you have to live with what he designed. Otherwise you have to develop your own framework mod.
hi!
I need a bit of info from you guys.
I'm trying to mod systemUI from stock JB, ruxuma and I can't find anything clear about the procedure.
as I understand first deodex, mod systemUI, odex back and flash?
I'm not getting the last part, odex back and flash...
do I have to delete systemIU.odex when I flash the mod systemUI?
does the mod systemUi needs to be odexed back to flash it on stock Rom?
thank you!
