I need help. I was trying to restore a nand backup but my phone just powered down before it finished. I did a battery pull and it booted up, so I return to recovery to try and restore but I did a full wipe first as I didn't the first time... the phone powered off again during the restore. After another battery pull I can now only get into bootloader. What do I do?
Using TWRP
Yes my phone is charged.
Do you have a ROM to flash on SD card ? Make sure phone is not plugged in ,mine acts up if its plugged in what version of twrp?
No ROM on my SD card, and it wasn't on the charger or USB.
Not sure of the TWRP version but it was early, around when we got S-OFF.
do u have an sd adapter to put it in your pc. then throw a rom on there an put it back in your phone?
what about using a ruu?
I have had the same problem when trying to restore it is a known issue in the twrp thread I believe it is working in 1.3,also I would recommend always keeping at least 1 Rom zip for times like this .if you have a micro SD card adapter you can throw the card from the phone into the adapter and plug it into a computer to move the files,I believe there is also a way to do it through bootloader with the usb
Get into Hboot then you can mount your sd card to your computer. I think its the usb mount option. put a rom on the sd card, wipe and then flash, and your set .. Just look in the recovery or in the hboot for usb mount. You can still access the sd card when in recovery. No need to boot the phone, hope this helps let me know !
Do you have a micro sd card reader and copy the PCGimage.zip file back to your sd card to reflash trpw recovery in bootloader.
Another option is load trpw via fastboot usb.
If you can get recovery back then you should be able to rewipe or restore nand.
instuctions for both here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192661
You can also load CWM via fasboot usb
Aznmode has the easiest approach, it should take just a few minutes to be back using your phone again.
Currently in recovery and flashing a ROM. I put a few files on the SD through USB toggle in recovery, but I flashed the newest TWRP zip first and couldn't get out of bootloader until putting my SD card in a reader to delete it.
I'm NOT going to try and restore my nand backup, starting fresh is better than possibly starting all this over again.
Am I backing up and restoring wrong? It seems pretty straight forward but I've never had trouble with CWR or Amon.
Just flash a ROM, reboot, make sure everything is working, then a nandroid.
I had a similar situation with that recovery. I ended up returning to stock, rerooting and flashing clockwork instead of Twrp recovery.

Ugh, now that I've reloaded everything I'm scared to do a backup/restore. I'll have to sleep on it, going to CWM for peace of mind is tempting as much as I'd prefer to give TWRP a try.
okay so here is the deal... i was running thunderstick my camera stopped working so i decided to restore to synergy. Once i did that through clockwork my phone never actually loaded up.
I hooking my phone up to the computer but cant do that because my phone stuck at htc white screen and dont have no pg1...zip thing on my sd card so when i go into bootloader there is nothing i can do i think.
So how can I get a ruu on my sd card so i can flash so i can fix my phone. I also tried restoring other roms that I had backed up in the past and still stuck at screen so if there is anyone that can help me i would appreciate. Thanks
If you have a usb to microSD card , you could just load the files directly on the card.
Get into recovery and flash a Rom. An ruu will cause you to lose root.
okay so I will decide to try both ideas. thanks guys
you can flash a rooted ruu here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29644922/Thunderbolt/Stock Rooted RUU/PG05IMG_stock.zip
now you have root.. i suspect your problem may be the last clockwork recovery 5.0.1.0 everytime i do a restore from it i have the same problem.
Same thing happening to me right now... DAMN IT....
plug in with USB,
at command prompt or from run
run this command
adb reboot bootloader
get in to recovery and mount your USB Storage
copy any RUU you like and reboot to recovery.
I'm pretty sure you can mount the SD-card to your computer in clockwork recovery too.

I'm pretty sure I loaded a kernel incorrectly and now all I can get to is the Bootloader and Recovery. I am to the point of just flashing the RUU back to stock but I have never done this and wanted to know if that erased the sd card. I have backups on the sd card but the computer will no longer recognize the phone so I can't get to my backup files.

SD should remain safe with stock flash; though it is curious that you can get into boot loader but you can't access the phone via ADB or even Fastboot?
I did an internal flash of 10.1. It works and boots however I forgot it include gaps when I did the flash. Now when I boot to recovery on the universal boot loader it does not recognize the sd and I only have the following options: internal emmc normal, internal emmc recovery and start fastboot. cyan can does acknowledge when I insert and remove the card however I can not read from it when I goto file manager. So reflashing in cyan wont work as far as I know. Card is formatted to fat32.
When I connect nook to computer via usb, it says failed driver installation.
I have tried to boot then put in the sd [didn't work]
I have tried to hook up the usb, to nook and computer to force recovery mode,[didnt work]
I have tried flashing a new rom onto sd and booting [didnt work]
I have tried flashing new rom and using the touchscreen firmware flasher but the os cant see the card when inserted.
Use FAT?

I'd suggest you try burning a pre-made CM SDcard image from http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2013...id-4-3-for-nook-tablet-imgsdc-boot-09aug2013/.
If it fails to boot your NT's card reader might be faulty.
If it boots successfully, you can proceed to reflash CM using pointers from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43326042&postcount=123.
Thanks
Thanks that worked. Thanks so much!!!
Was having the same issue with mine and used this same procedure to fix it so...double thanks.
I have CWM Touch recovery and Tachyon 1.1 installed. I decided to flash TWRP recovery by downloading the .zip from Flyhalf's thread (TWRP_2.6.3.0_Vigor_PH98IMG) and putting it on my internal SD as PH98IMG.zip (yeah, I know -- stupid idea).
Now when I reboot, the HTC screen comes up for a moment, the phone vibrates once and then powers down. At that point, I have to pull the battery if I want to try again. I can (after pulling battery) boot to bootloader from which I can still reboot to my CWM recovery, but I can't boot the phone normally. I assume this is because of the PH98IMG.zip on my internal storage?
What do I need to do to remove that file so that I can get back to "normal". I do not have a backup (because I was expecting to flash TWRP which doesn't use the CWM format for backups). I would rather not factory reset/re-format my internal SD unless that is my only option.
What are my options?
I've learned not to panic when I "think" I've done something terrible, but I am really starting to panic this time.
In CWM, when I go to Mounts & Storage, I am unable to mount anything except the /sdcard. I can NOT mount /cache, /data, /system, or /emmc. When I boot to HBOOT, I am unable to communicate with phone from PC.
Assuming I find a way to mount my SD card on my PC, could I copy a ROM to the external card, wipe/partition everything other than my card and re-flash the ROM to force re-formatting of all my partitions? Or should I begin trying to decide between the HTC One, Moto X and LG G2??

If you're now able to get into recovery, just copy a new rom over to the SD Card and install it. Worst case, if you're s-off, RUU your phone back to stock and start over with re-installing your recovery, restoring your rom.
The PH98IMG being on any internal or exteternal is not causing any problems for you on boot and would only be cumbersome when booting into hboot. It sounds to me that you should boot into recovery and clean flash a rom again. Even in recovery, you can mount either internal or external sd as usb storage and access it via your pc where you can remove or delete any file in them.

Get a rom on your sd card, whether external or internal and clean flash in recovery. fastboot flash the boot.img if you're s-on via rebooting to bootloader and doing it through fastboot
Thank you both for your responses. I tried to flash a new ROM from recovery but it didn't work; presumably because it could not write to /system, etc. Instead, I installed a RUU by following these instructions and flashed TWRP recovery as an img file with fastboot (extracted from here). As a result, I have a working phone, although it is ICS and Sense 3.6 -- blech!
My next question is: How do I upgrade to the latest HBOOT and radios? Although the CM 10.2 FAQ suggests following the above process to get the latest and greatest, the links provides HBOOT = 2.27.0000 and radios = 2.22.10.0801r; 2.22.10.0803r.
Second question: once I update HBOOT and radios, can I just reboot into recovery (via HBOOT) and flash Tachyon 1.1.5 or do I first need to partition/format mount points to prepare them for a 4.3 ROM?
I bungled my way through all these steps so long ago that I don't remember what hoops I had to jump through to get back to my "comfort zone" with Tachyon.

newest hboot and radios http://d-h.st/BIj ...place it in the main area of your external sd card and rename it and make sure it looks like PH98IMG.zip bot to bootloader by holding power and volume down after a battery pull to boot to it....this is the same method to get to a custom recovery to flash a rom bud...if s-on dont forget to flash boot.img outta the rom you are flashing
---------- Post added at 05:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:30 PM ----------
also after you flash a 4.3 rom you have to format, partition and wipe internal sdcard and emmc
Thanks for the linkREV3NT3CH!! I scoured the web and found another link on XDA but it was broken.
I was able to flash the firmware update and install Tachyon 1.1.5 finally and now everything is back to "normal". Hope work doesn't mind that nothing got done today and I'll be stopping home to buy a microSD card reader for my computer after borrowing a co-worker's -- life saver!
I just booted up on the new ROM in time to hear the HORRIBLE low battery alarm. Not cool Neo; not cool at all.
