First off I want to say thanks to all the Devs on this site and those who contribute. Secondly I'm pretty computer Savvy and I have no clue what I've done.
So I had Cm7 running on the nook for about 2 months some where along the line my girl did something and it died. I then used albertcwertz repart.img. I then rooted and reflashed Cm7 all is fine. Until the next day the nook just wigged out and wouldnt turn or go into cw recovery.
So I tried the repart.img again but now it says installing software and a red X in upper right had corner then says powering off device in 5 secs and then nothing.
Next I tried the ubuntu sd card and it never got pass the MLO part of the wipe.
So now I'm trying to wipe everything manually through a VM Ubuntu but I cant mount the Sd card and it says
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
Im using CWR 5.5.28 i believe so please tell me what Im doing wrong or whatI'm over looking. Ive searched this forum up and down and Im lost at this point and hate to be that guy asking the same questions. Thanks in advance

Check my thread to learn how to install and use adb and if you have issues with it.
You may also want to try @succulent's flash-restore-stock.zip (Click on View RAW)
flash-restore-stock.zip (use it to restore partition 1-6)
- Only use this as last measure. Meaning only if you formatted rom (p5) and bootdata (p6).
- You will need to install flash_stock_1.4.2.zip afterward or a CM7 rom.
- To get your serial number back, you need to perform factory restore (8 failed boot method)
- The one that prompt,

A reset is being performed.

So I did search and found a couple of threads relating to all sorts of deleted things. I know exactly what happened: My nephew clicked the "Erase sd" under the internal memory from Settings>Storage in android. He told me that much.
When I turn on my nook, it shows a white screen with a cardboard box--then it boots into CWM.
When I try to restore an old backup or install a new rom, I see:
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/command/
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/log/
E:Can't open / cache/recovery/log/
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/last_log/
E:Can't open / cache/recovery/last_log/
Since I know that's what messed it up, what would be the easiest option to fix it? do I only have to repartition the cache section?

Have u tried wiping the data and cache? I will not be held responsible if you try that and brick it even more lol

From CWM? Yes I have. I tried installing the rom before wiping however, and after. I get an error while even trying to wipe data/cache though. Was wondering if I should just jump straight to he ubuntu flash method and then just...re-root or something.
I recommend making a bootable Ubuntu -or- Mint linux CD disk. Then use it to have a look at the partitions. Yes, your guess about the partitions being messed up is most likely correct.
Well, I think we have the same problem, mine is described here. Can you boot from SD card? I can't. I suspect the file system to be corrupted as well. The question is, how on earth to fix it?
Hi, i have installed CM7 and it was good. After that i rebooted my nook tablet and he's hovered. Appeared an inscription "Please restart your device and try again. If you encounter the same issue, please contact customer service or visit: nook.com/tablet/support."
And in CWM :
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
Can you help me please? I really dont know what to do
And i cant launch ADB...
sorry for my bad language

I cant format. Im pressing power button + N and nothing changes.

Sorry, i found it in CMW.
"Fromatting /rom...

Same to /bootdata
And in ADB cant fing my tablet.
Okay so last night I attempted to root my nook tablet 1.4.3 using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2037368. I downloaded all the files that were pointed to in that thread, and followed the instructions. Everything went perfect and soon I was setting up my google account, then following the final steps which involved downloading rom manager, and goo manager. All was well, until I decided to reboot the tablet.
After I rebooted the initial loading seemed fine (got the "n" screen"), then cyanobootloader popped up, then the Team B presents XDA logo popped up and then nothing. The tablet stayed frozen on the Team B logo, and rebooting did nothing.
So being the idiot that I am, I tried going into recovery from the cyanobootloder. This took me to TWRP where my dumbass ended up going to advanced and Wiping the system. After that I tried installing Cm-7-Team-B-Beata1-signed.zip and gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip from TWRP. The log gives several messages that read:
E: Unable to mount /system
E: Unable to mount /data
E: Unable to mount /cache
E: Unable to mount /emmc
E: Unable to mount /emmc
E: failed to mount /emmc (No such File or directory exist)
E: failed to mount /emmc (No such File or directory exist)
E: failed to mount /emmc (No such File or directory exist)
At this point I was freaking out, stopped using my head, and began trying desperately to go back to stock. I tried using this method http://raywaldo.com/2012/06/how-to-un-brick-a-nook-tablet-8gb-or-16gb/, but it didn't change anything.
I decided then to try redoing the rooting guide again to see if that could solve the problem. It did not.
So now the tablet boots into TWRP when I turn it on. I can also enter CWM-based Recovery using the SD card I made from the guide. However, when I enter CWM-based-recovery I get these messages at the bottom:
E: Can't Mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't Mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't Open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't Mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't Open /cache/recovery/last_log
That's pretty much where I'm stuck on at the moment. I figured I should probably stop messing with this tablet before I made a bigger mess.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'd suggest that you try flashing afresh a CM10 or CM10.1 build using SDcard based CWM recovery, using a method such as described at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2056626.
In case you're considering using one of the so-called "unbricking" tools, read this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37515697&postcount=31 first before you pick the wrong tool that would permanently wipe out your NT's individual device specific data like WiFi MAC address, security certificate, serial number, etc.
Nook needs a /recovery folder in /cache partition like /cache/recovery.
Somehow that folder is missing
Is so easy to fix that you will laugh
dd zero the cache partition after you make sure cwm/twrp is not have it mounted check by reading mount /cache if it says unmount cache select it first.
Then format cache in cwm/twrp and that's it. Folder will be created by it self and that error print out will stop.
Here it is

any help?

If you're having problem getting ADB setup to work, this method is probably not a good first-choice solution for you. I'd suggest flashing back to stock first using flash_stock_1.4.2.zip at https://github.com/succulent/acclaim_recovery_sdcard, or the repart.img at http://raywaldo.com/2012/06/how-to-un-brick-a-nook-tablet-8gb-or-16gb/.

thanks for your help but it didn't work
there is something wrong with the internal memory
every single time I enter CMW this appears:
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/command/
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/log/
E:Can't open / cache/recovery/log/
E:Can't mount / cache/recovery/last_log/
E:Can't open / cache/recovery/last_log/
that's why I asked for the ADB cuz it looks the only solution for my problem
I can make the rom work from the SD card but I can't install it on the internal memory

If you can boot into CWM on SD, I'd suggest that you "wipe /cache" (not /data) to see if that will take care of the /cache error diagnostics you encountered.
If you want to pursue the ADB route, see http://developer.android.com/tools/help/adb.html as well as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970225.
You might also want to take a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37515697&postcount=31 for background info on the NT emmc partition structure and cautionary notes on trying to unbricking the device.
Okay, I don't normally post. In fact I always normally find solutions using the search, but I am out of options and at my wits limit.
I have an 8gb nook tablet which I loaded up with CM7. After I booted it up I reformatted the SD card to start fresh.
Upon restarting the tablet It would no longer boot into CM7 and would instead get stuck on CWM.
"No problem I thought, Ill just re-flash it from my SD card" But when I went to install it from SD card it told me
it couldn't mount the SD card. I rebooted and again landed in recovery which yielded the following messages
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
I already tried the B&N8gb/16gb .img that restores the tablet to stock but that was a no go.
I then tried to make a bootable SD card using the CM7 alpha but that also did not work
After I tried to use the Ubuntu recovery to 1.4.0 but realized that it was only for the 16gb nook
I got what I think is ADB going on windows following this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1474956
So I could try this solution
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513583
But I can't for the life of me figure out what I need to type into CMD. It's been 3 days. I have never been so lost and confused in my life.
Pleas kind strangers of XDA. Help me.
