Internal storage is where all apps installed go
The amount of memory shown on box says the total amount of internal memory, cache, system and other partitions (I mean sum of them)

Check your Internal Memory
Then Check your SD Card Memory
You will see Your SD card Memory have a size
although it doesnt have Sd Card.
Try to add the size of your internal memory and sd card
you will see it is the sum of your internal memory

Internal Memory

I'm just wondering how much internal memory do you guys have left? I have the T-Mob 1024mb but after WinMo, Android, and some apps, all I'm left with is about 75mb. Does that sound about right to you guys?
How do you guys with the 512mb version manage to run both winmo and Android?? I'm using Energy Titanium, which is very light and small already. I'm surprised Android and my apps take up so much.
android runs off the sd card not the internal memory
there is a total of 576MB of ram on the phone plus a 1GB ROM plus a 16GB storage card. You should install apps to the storage card instead of the phone to save space.

When I go into Settings>SD & Phone storage> Under Internal phone storage, it lists 82.47MB, this number changes as I delete and installs apps.

How do you install apps to the sd card? When I download an app from market, it just automatically installs and I'm given a choice to choose either the internal phone storage or sd card.
tap on SD card as that is your external storage and then proceede with the installation

Two internal storages

I'm on CM9 with stock kernel.
I have two internal storages on my phone. One is 2GB (named internal storage) and the other is around 11GB (named SD card). I also have a 32 GB micro SD card plugged in as well. Now for some reason, all my apps are being installed to the 2GB one so I'm running out of room to install new apps. I checked storage settings and made sure that the option has been checked to install apps to the internal storage, and apps were still being installed on the 2GB one. I then checked that option OFF so that it would save apps to my micro SD card, but nothing changed.
Help??
The 2gb is probably the data partition specifically for installing apps. And the 11gb is for whatever else

Yep i 2nd that, it will be your data partition, when you wipe the data on your phone the 2gb partition is the part that gets wiped.
Ok so it's normal to have 2 separate partitions like that? What can I do when the 2GB gets full?
I would like to bump this thread
I have a similar issue with the thread starter
My phone , Cm10, has two internal storage
when i check the system settings
and when i check manage apps
the sd card tab shows the 2nd internal storage instead of my 8gb micro sd
even if i take off my micro sd card from my phone the phone still says that i have an sd card w/ 1.4gb of storage in Manage Apps

[Q] Extending memory? (USB Storage)

I have a 16GB micro SD in my S2 and it's nearly empty. I only bought it because I thought it could extend the internal memory (USB Storage) so I can move more apps to SD card.
So far, I've found Link2SD, which is sh*t. Is there any way I can join the internal storage with my SD card to extend it? Can it be done using Directory Bind?
PS please don't give me something which has a limit of 1GB. 1GB is nothing for me

have u tried 'Apps2sd' form stores if not try the same and see, also if ur phone is rooted u can use 'Gemini app manager' and see
That app will only move the app from internal memory to USB storage. Not external memory card

Memory addition

If possible, i would like to add 100 mb from my 16 gb external sd to the internal memory so that the total become 202+100=302
Please give me the procedure
I am rooted using 2.3.6
Using XDA premium through A5

I'm fairly certain that you can't do that. The internal memory in your phone is actually internal memory on your phone and the external sd is actually an sd card. You can't just transfer memory from one to the other because they are physically different devices.
It's like trying to add a 4GB flash drive to your computer's hard disk, you just can't do it.

Yes, you can. By enabling swapping, you'll buy memory size at the cost of memory speed. This question pops up every week, and a quick search would have given you an answer like this.

Hm.. you can try using SD_Ext. Its a partition that can be used by apps to store Android apps, cache, etc. (Normally found in /data). I'm not too sure about the procedures, but you could do a google search on it. It basically requires you to resize your sd cards partition, add another partition, and requires some small mods to your current android system. (Installing an app, etc.)
Try here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1750888 and google for sd ext'
EDIT: If you meant extending your RAM, follow kuisma's post. But if you meant extending your ROM or Internal mem, this post applies to it.

You are both correct, but talks about different things.
You can not transfer physical memory from the SDcard or internal NAND flash to RAM, but you can use them to increase the virtual memory.

Internal memory

So, under settings -> storage, I'm seeing the external SD card as it should but the internal memory is only 2.35GB. Isn't it supposed to be near to 13GB? I am not getting any low storage space or anything, just setting my available space.
Maybe the space is there with another name, how do I check the available internal space? DiskInfo is showing the similar thing.

There are three storage areas in the stock Rezound...
Apps - about 2.3GB
Phone Storage - about 13GB
These are part of the internal 16GB of storage in the phone itself, and is shared with the operating system, cache partitions, app partitions, and regular storage. They are segmented and cannot be joined and actually seen as one drive.
External Storage - about 15GB (sd card dependant)
each one is it's own partition, you cannot access the "App" area without root access. the Phone Storage is the "HTC STORAGE" drive that opens when you connect to the PC, the unnamed volume is the external SD card.

So, is there any easy way to see how much actual free space do I have left?

I can only see
Total space - 2.3, then sub-sections like downloads, cached etc
SD card - (external card space), same sub-sections
Unmount SD
Erase SD
Does your settings like any different?

Yes, I am running a custom ROM. That could be the reason for the different screen.
There is an issue sometimes with the newer ROMs where the internal or external memory is not seen in the ROM but is when connected by USB... You usually just need to format the partition in FAT32 either via CWM/TWRP/Amon Ra or Windows.
Can you browse to it with ES File Explorer or other file manager?

Would you be willing to list out the process for properly formatting the internal storage? I've tried several things, the most recent of which was mounting through recovery and formatting with Windows. However, the internal storage still can't be accessed by the camera, in ES File Explorer, etc. Thanks for any help you can provide.

In TWRP, you would go to wipe - advanced wipe - then select only internal SD option.

I am using the solid exp and here's this folder "Internal memory" at SystemRoot, Now, this internal memory is actually my memory card. At the systemroot, there's another folder named "Storage". This folder has these 3 sub-folders - Internal memory (same as the previous one), sdcard1 (empty with free space 376MB) and usbdisk0 (empty with 376MB).
BTW, using the Xenon HD ROM and as far as I can remember, TRON had the same folders and all.
