even if you have a verizon 4g sim
even beigephone can't come up with one without a 4g chip as of this writing
more of verizon locking down their phones
depending on the rom some will work with 4g but these is a trick to it, try searching the forums

Just had to reflash it was up and running in less than 10 minutes

i've searched forums for weeks and no avail stock gb 181 to ota ics
like you saying there is a trick to go search doesn't help anyone
people claim to have solution but don't publish it and others don't get all features running
others really don't have ota ics and still on gb

mine is done by beigephone
took ota ics and lost internet connect although in the mobile settings i can see 3g/1x signal strength 3 bars
used cdmaws paid to flash and still can't get it back

Yeah looks like there is a 49.95 service on Beigephone to flash ICS Razr and Razr Maxx. Let us know if it works out for you pltctytc.

they're reflashed for free in the past. although i don't expect it this time
its cheaper than the alternatives in the long run. could have gone to V ported to prepaid for one month then port back to ppc and see what happens. would cost me more than 50 for that
one no one seems to know what bp does different unless they have the uber expensive software that can do more than cdmaws. maybe just a bug in the phone from the update....who knows...

I used qpst and DFS I don't have cdma workshop
there is a thread on howard forums post 11 tells how
you do not have to use any cut now there is a *#*#4636#*#* for phone info to change the radio to lte cdma evdo
I did the over the air as a tester for motorola simm has to be in for data to work I have no mms
In menu settings about phone status it does not show phone number or prl but when I read phone in qpst or DFS all info comes up
Phone works great though I have not factory reset it not sure if that makes any difference or not

devs would say to use it to toggle to gsm then back to lte to get data working. so i guess not on stock roms?
i have the gsm razr, so i don't know if it's disabled on stock cdma

I am on 211 OTA ICS on the razr maxx and *#*#4636#*#* sure does work it did not on GB but it works Fine on ICS try it you will see

So pltctytc, were you able to install ICS and get data working on Pageplus with the 4g SIM card?
I have the 4g SIM Card that came from Verizon in the phone and if i remove it, data doesnt work on GB and goes on roaming mode. Putting back in, data starts working again.
I was thinking of safestrap and install an ICS leak on the safe-side but what I have read is that you have to have ICS on the non-safe side also. The other option is safestrap and then install the stock .181 on the safe side and then try and see if it will OTA update from it to ICS. If anything goes haywire, i can go back to the non-safe side.

I just got a Razr XT912 that came with a SIM. I assume you mean a "clean" SIM? Does this just apply to the Maxx? I'd really like to be on ICS (now on GB 2.3.6) before I try flashing on my own.

so i've flashing a couple different ROM's. ever since i flashed the eclipse 1.3 ROM my data and cell radio is completely off no matter what i do (at no fault to the ROM maker).
i've went back to completely stock and not unrooted but i still can't get my cell radio to turn on at all. brought it to verizon and they couldn't do anything either and told me to just get a replacement.
i'd rather see if i can fix it myself and have been searching for razr radios with no avail. looks like their are no CDMA radios for the droid razr?
what options do i have? is it possible to try and reuse the stock radio and if so where can i find it?
anyone?
If you want to repair your issue you may need to rsd back to .173. Full restoral. Radios should be repaired. We have a locked boot loader so individual radios will do us no good.

I used this. I am cdma Verizon maxx though. After I used this it didn't reinstall my 4g radios. Maybe something I did.
I found and used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625229 as my work around to repair my missing lte radios.
This works. I recently took the .181 update w 0 issues. Make sure you uninstall after market recovery and wipe out all traces as it may fail.

There is an app on the market by Motorola that restores 4G Lte connectivity. It might fix your bacon. Mmmmmm i love bacon!

So after reading through all the posts about flashing my phone to ics from droidstyle's post, i ended up trying to flash my phone from 2.3.5 (which I was not able to update normally by my crappy carrier) to one of the ics roms. Which ended up giving me zero 3g access. My question is are their specific files i can pull from a working Showcase with the latest carrier supported os, to put on my phone after i flash it to ics to get it to access 3g again? My problem is all these roms and what not tend to be based off verizons phone the fascinate. Which as far as i can tell are almost identiacal except a few differences. I dont have verizon as my carrier but a little kansas based one called nex-tech.
there is a 3g data fix.zip floating around here somewhere in this section...thats what u need.

ok, so after all that i still dont have 3g access. Tried reverting back to 2.3.5 but it wont give me my 3g back at all.

most likely you will have to call your carrier and have them do a esn swap or activate a old phone on your line then switch back.
I went down to the office and they did a swap of a phone they had in the building. No luck what so ever. My girl friend and i have the same exact phone, minus a small hardware update between them. Ive completely erased all of my phone and flashed a generic showcase rom and updated through their website. They programmed it and all that jazz but no luck...

You want an easy fix? Activate it on a Verizon account....
I'm not trying to offend you, but Samsung created it for Verizon network...you might be able to program it to work on another, but you might not...idk

Well the phone is a Nex-tech phone, that is where i bought it from. That is the local cell phone provider here. Its worked flawlessly rooted for almost 6 months. Then i decided to try and get ics on it and followed the guide droid so awesomely wrote up for everyone. It didnt work so well for me, because Nex-tech is some random generic cdma cellphone provider.

I had a Sprint Epic for a brief time but live in an area where it was using Nex-tech's towers since Nex-tech is part of Sprint's roaming alliance. I was running custom Froyo roms from XDA because there was no official Froyo release at the time. After a few months it had the same problem with losing 3G. I spent two hours on it with Sprint's tech support and never got it to work again. They even sent me a refurbed phone and it failed right out of the box. They wanted me to drive to the nearest store to have them activate it, which was 1 1/2 hours away when it should have been able to activate thru Nextech's system. Needless to say I ate the ETF and got a Fascinate.
My theory is Nextech has some kind of black list that shuts off data on phones it thinks are roaming for an excessive amount of time. Maybe switching to an ICS Rom designed for the Fascinate might have triggered that.
Good luck with getting it working. The main thing that keeps me from going back to Nextech is their lame tech support and huge repair times instead of refurbished swapouts. I keep hoping when Nextech's contract with Sprint is up next year maybe Sprint will come out here.

so i installed cm10. had it running awesome. but because of the way i am i wanted more power so i tried Faux cm9 kernel right thinking jb is just an upgrade to ics. WRONG. so now i have no wifi, i just get an error. my phone thinks my sim card is from Rogers when it should be bell. i tried to restore an old neutrino backup but still no go. i installed a new radio. i even restored the phone back to ofra234 but still no go. i am back to my old neutrino backup with my signal saying rogers with no wifi.
i tried the sim card on my backup wildfire thinking it was fakaked because at one point i say invalid sim but it worked fine.
i flashed a radio through fastboot but did not seem to do anything. have no idea where to find the proper image file.
i tried adding apn settings but they would not save. in the past i remembered MCC: 302 MNC: 610 fields where populated be default but they are also blank.
the radio i have on there now is N_01.07.05P

...or you could set it to automatic so the phone chooses the correct provider according to your SIM.

Try a Bell fruitcake before sbf, but my guess is you will have to sbf. Good luck!
ran the BELL_FR_2.2.2 zip to revert back to complete stock then ran the BELL IHOP sbf but still no go. i am thinking its a hardware issue at this point.
Yeah, might be hardware. Did your phone get hot? I know some of the early CM9 alphas with OC kernels cooked a few wifi and bluetooth radios.
This probably won't help, but what about doing a fruitcake or sbf with the sim card removed?

I agree that the Atrix is a great size. Many phones these days look like small tablets.

Rezound radios are designed for verizon towers, im not sure it will work with a t mobile sim. But you could still unlock it and what not it just won't get service or data

I have been sucessfully using the phone since I purchased it in March. I know there has been a fix for data and I believe SMS. Now there is an ICS update. I cave not rooted or flashed or modded just kind of waited until the official update to see what it changed. Your thoughts?
I'm using my Rezound on T-Mobile. You will only get EDGE (2G) since the rezound doesn't have T-Mobile's AWS band. The same with AT&T I believe (only 2G). The Rezound is already SIM unlocked all you need is a GSM ROM
Unless you live in an area where they have refarmed their 2G to 3G. AT&T has already done it in New York City (downtown). And T-Mobile in Washington State (some city there idk).
The gist of it is. For the moment on the HTC Rezound with a US GSM carrier you will only have 2G (EDGE) data connection. Until those carriers switch their 2G off and refarm it to 3G.
I just want to update it with ics. Try the fixes for data, sim etc that everybody else has used. I just don't know where to start.

Data is just a matter of Setting the APN... While SMS is deeper in the ROM..
If you are on Stock ICS then flash this http://dl.dropbox.com/u/46585775/HTC Rezound/STOCKGSMFIX.zip
Then go into your dialer *#*#4636#*#* and check under phone information that GSM is selected.
BACKUP!! BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANYTHING
Or you can just flash one of the ICS roms (GSM) that have Sense 4 so you won't get the "Invalid Sim blah blah"

Why don't you just backup and flash either the Stock ICS or a custom ROM and then restore just your DATA and see if it doesn't give you any issues?
What do you recommend for a good back up application and where should I get the ics flashed from? I don't know why the APN is grayed out if I knew how to do a screen shot I would post it for you.

If you are dev-unlocked or have S-OFF you can use amon ra to do a complete system backup...
But there is an app in the Play Store called ROM Toolbox Lite which lets you backup apps, bookmarks etc to your sdcard... Then all you got to do is flash a rom you want and redownload the Toolbox app from the play store and restore.
I downloaded the tool box lite and received a message that it failed to obtain root access. I guess that means that I am unrooted? Not quite sure what root or unroot means.

By that I assume you do not have an unlocked bootloader? And you are as stock as you can get.
If you are 100% Stock and you want ICS.. You could update by flashing the ICS PH98IMG.zip via the bootloader.. but that will cause a factory reset with no hope of getting anything backed up.
Back when the rezound was released there was a Temp Root method but it never worked for me. If you acheive Temp Root you can run ToolBox and do an app backup.
Root = Having control of Androids System and being able to do backups/restore

If you achieve Temp Root using the link i posted.. All You will gain is root privilege until the phone is powered off.
While in Temp root you should be able to create a backup of your phone to your sdcard.
So Make Sure you Have the HTC Drivers Installed
And that you have ADB installed

Well technically the update should present itself to you aslong as you have an active DATA connection. Now being on T-Mobile might be whats stopping the update from coming to your rezound.
You do not need Root to update to ICS since the update is available on the internet for you to download and install it via sdcard. But you won't be able to backup anything besides what Google Backs up on it own (Contacts & App purchases).
So If you want to stay Stock and upgrade to ICS then you can go ahead and download the ICS update and install it via sdcard. Just remember you will loose everything not saved in the sdcard (internal or external won't be touched).

Or you can just flash one of the ICS roms (GSM) that have Sense 4 so you won't get the "Invalid Sim blah blah"

I am backing up my data now. Still on stock GB. Can you tell me what I should flash to if there is a link to upgrade this to ICS since I am on
Verizon I will not get the upgrade notice and need to do a manual install. I also want to get data and SMS too. A lot of this has been since
resolved, but I am not sure which are which. Could you please, tell me so I can get this done once and for all. I feel like I am living in the stone

Ok so i bought this razr off of craigslist and its a solid device so i dont want to give up on it it seems that it has been flashed to an unknown carrier all i know is the phone number that shows up in settings is area code 323 and wont go away i tried to activate it at a verizon and they got it all set up on their end but the device itself wasn't cooperating the rep at verizon tried to make a test call but it kept going to an automated message saying my account is out of funds and can not complete this call wtf? And we checked to see if the phone number changed it aaaand it didnt After three techs over the phone we couldn't get the damned thing to work The device wouldn't connect to verizons phone/text network but we did manage to get get lte i went to settings to see if i can update to 4.0 because its still running 2.3.6 but the button was greyed out... so im assuming its sum sort of rom made for a different carrier but im probably wrong
Any help i would immensely appreciated i use this device on wifi and even on gb i like it its so sweet i really wanna set this bad boy up

You need qpst cdma workshop. Google razr on cricket or metro pcs and follow those steps but install prl from vzw. Also check to see if phone is in cdma only mode.

Im in the same boat trying to help a friend. I have qpst and CDMA WS already. Could someone help me install a verizon prl back onto this Razr. Thanks guys.
