Another APP that is missing in the EVO 3D is the HTC Battery Widget.
I got this one but it looks some sort of tiny, if anyone can post another that look the same size as the other apps, that will be great.

1.2mb and every permission known to man for battery widget? No thanks.

I really miss the battery widget, but Wow.. what's with all the permissions?
I really don't know about all those permissions, I installed and is working fine.
And also it looks kind of tiny, so if anybody finds another apk, will be q better option

Increased resolution could make it tinier. But still, all these permissions are unnecessary and I refuse to install this. Was this ripped from another HTC phone, or you found it online?

That's a good idea. Although it might possibly be the battery widget, I still feel uncomfortable giving a widget all those permissions as well. Who know's what could be lurking in the background of this widget, LoL
Anybody have a good battery widget that doesn't kill the battery? Everyone I looked at had negative comments about battery life. I though someone might have one that works really well.
Ok guys I found it... But permission are the same(I think)...
The long story is... I installed like 20 HTC Battery Widgets, and I found out that the first I posted here is from HTC Hero and that is why is so tiny, I installed some others and didn't work out, but in the end I found it.
Anyway here is the full resolution APK.

NO WAY!
look at everything it requires.

Services that cost you money- directly call phone numbers, send SMS messages
Your Messages-com.android.email.permission.READ_ATTACHMENT, edit SMS or MMS, read SMS or MMS, receive MMS, receive SMS
Your Accounts-Google, mail, manage the accounts list, use the authentication credentials of an account
System Tools-Bluetooth, admiistration, change network connectivity, change Wi-Fi state, change WiMAX state, modify global system settings, prevent phone from sleeping, retrieve running applications, set time zone, write Access Point Name settingsm write sync settings.
these aren't all of them either, these are just the ones that concern me a little more.

My screenshot with the Widget...
Try Battery Minder, lots of options, widget or even taskbar options. Puts itself on the left of the taskbar so can be seen on ANY page, never found running or stuck in background and I've been using it for years at this point when I'm waiting on root for the battery circle hacks.
Free app and a pro app, but free app works very very awesome. Other than that running minimalistic text and making a cool "worded" battery widget works great too, not only that, you get lots of other options with minimalistic txt, clocks, weather, calenders, etc.
It's not a stand-alone battery widget, but I found and use ZDbox. Find it on the Market.
It has widgets for a bunch of different options(wifi, sound, brightness, bluetooth, etc.), a battery monitor, traffic counter, do not disturb, app lock, task killer, app to sd/app uninstaller.
It keeps a small battery(with percentage) at the top left of my EVO 3d. It's no battery widget but gets the job done for me(along with doing so much more).
im a fan of the simi clock widget that comes with a battery widget. Has weather widget thats not bad either.
I like it best with a clear background, under the settings for background, just put all the sliders to the left and it makes the background clear.
Works pretty well and is easy to read, not sure how much juice it uses though to run it...
I'm going to mod this widget a bit. I noticed that the name has a black border whereas the other widgets do not.

Battery indicator works pretty well, sits on the notification bar instead of being a big ugly widget on your screen. Free in the market.
I use the battery widget by Curve Fish, doesn't effect battery life, shows where things are at, and can even be color coded until we get a percent feature in a rooted rom.
I like circle battery widget. Found it in the market the other day. Doesn't seem to have any affect on battery life.
I have searched everywhere for this and can't find anything so hopefully someone can help.
When I get a text message often it comes through 2 or 3 times. I am using the stock text message program. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? It is driving me crazy!
Has to be a tmo thing because I get doubles sometimes, or out of order and I use handcent.

Just got my Amaze yesterday and I've had this issue today as well. Was using my MyTouch 4G yesterday without the problem.

I get this too on O2 (uk) so must be an Amaze thing! lol
Never had it before the Amaze..
possible fix
I had this problem too. What I did was delete all contact duplicates that are in the phone and sim card. So only Google and Facebook should be left to handle contacts.
I had it before on my g2x also.

Please tell me how to do this. When I go to my contact list it only shows one entry but if I want to add someone to favorites it shows 2 or more sometimes. I can't edit them from here though. I REALLY hate that the phone stores them all over. I want ONE google contact list and nothing else. I think it is Facebook causing this. I don't want any Facebook stuff in my contact list. If you can help me delete all the extras I would love it. I have no sim card contacts and no Facebook should show. Thanks!

I discovered that I could select which contacts to use in the Contacts app. So I only show the ones on the phone. However, I did not get multiple SMS even when I had all contacts showing, so I don't know why yours would do that.
EDIT: The main gripe I have is that it automatically selects the contacts picture if they have a facebook profile picture. But it isn't that big a deal.

If you don't want any FB contacts to show removed your FB account under settings>accounts and sync>FB for HTC Sense>remove account
Here is the kicker, I only get dupes with one person, and that person is not even saved to my contacts. This has happened to this phone and my g2x, can anyone explain that?

I'm getting the same issues but it's only happening in the last week or so.
The same thing happens to me just about every single day. It pisses me off. I get about 2 or 3 texts from the same person. The sound on my phone sounds like it's having a seizure because it's not suspecting a rapid fire of texts. Why, why, why? If someone knows the answer, feel free to chime in. I use the stock sms app and have uninstalled google voice, but that didn't help.
I get em too..but only MMS

Happens to me constantly, usually when I'm connected to wifi at home. I'm currently using Quik sense, but i doubt its the ROM.

It's not a Rom issue, I'm not even rooted. I still think it's a tmo issue.

It only seems to be happening on the Amaze though. I called t-mobile cs who pushed me through to tech supp. They couldn't figure it out either.

I wonder if it's a 2G/4G thing. I have it happen from time to time but it usually happens when I'm in an area with spotty 4G so the phone is toggling back and forth between 2G and 4G. I've had them come immediately together and then also within about 30 seconds of each other so it looks like it might be signal related? I guess the way to find out would be to force the phone to 2G only or 4G only and see if it goes away.
For those of you looking to clean up your contacts list. you can hit menu > view > and uncheck all of the things you don't want to show. I for example only show 'my contacts' and 'favorites' from google, and dont show facebook at all. That way only contacts i have on my phone on purpose that are linked to facebook will show, otherwise the extra 500+ people aren't in there. also, theres a setting on gmail if you go to your contacts page > settings > create contacts for auto-complete> and pick 'I'll add contacts myself'. This makes it so any time you email a new address or get a new email it doesn't just store the email address to your phone and gmail account. Really cuts down on clutter.

It's definitely a phone/ROM issue. As I've said before I'm on O2 (UK) and never had this problem before.
I've cleaned my contacts up as suggested and haven't had a problem in 1/2 a week..
It could be a radio ROM problem.. new 4G chip-set, new kernel,, maybe the phone isn't telling the network properly it has received the message and it is being resent?
Just recently sold my EVO View, overall was happy with it but I'm just not an android fan seems like it always had issues from not opening emails correctly to apps not working properly
sorry to hear that what apps didn't work correctly, and what kinds of emails couldn't you open?
Some emails just regular txt wouldn't open and others I know there a limiter in the settings to allow large mail in but it still wouldn't work.
you use Gmail? i've never had any of those problems..
Sent from my HTC EVO View Tablet
I've never had any problems with emails both exchange and gmail on any of my android devices, the view included.
Apps not working correctly, sure. Some aren't made for tablets. I see the issue on my touchpad more then on my view however.
Sorry to see you were having so much trouble. Hopefully better luck with whatever you decide to purchase next.
I have been hearing alot of people using the google voice voice mail over the stock voice mail. Can someone chime in and explain what are the advantages of using the GVM vs stock? Also how do you go about this? Any help is appreciated.
In my case, its I go Google VM for the network saving + the many other features of Google Voice.
I rather not lose my Voicemail access between devices & so I like accessing them from anywhere.
Google Voice can be used for just VM but I cant help you there as I've fully integrated. I do recommend going Google Voice entirely though.

I completely integrated, it works great. They are supposed to be working on integrating mms too but so far it doesn't work well
You get another phone number that you can have forwarded to any other phone or multiple phones. You can set people in different groups and set different options for each group. You can have different outgoing messages for each contact or group so your friends here one thing, but your boss hears another. You get great long distance rates using your google voice number. I think it's still free to Canada. Perfect if you don't want to give out your real number or if you want one number to consolidate a bunch of phone numbers. You can block numbers you don't want calling you anymore. If you're going to be busy you can use the "do not disturb" feature which sends people right to voicemail. You get so much more space for voicemails. And they are all organized just like google mail. You can star messages and keep them forever.
So much and it's all free. Why not just try it? Here's the google voice features video
I finally got it setup properly a few days ago and I'm loving it. Blown away by all the features. During setup, using my phones browser, when it got to the part where I called my phone from the website (ON my phone ), and I recorded my greeting from the website on my phones browser , I knew this was some good sh1t.
And I love having the voicemails accessible directly from call log.

If you haven't already, try adding grooVe IP into the mix to really have your mind blown.
I really like it anyway. The only small drawback is about a 2-3 second delay on (free)voice calls
