Just wondering if anyone is working on giving us the option of booting into cwm on every boot/restart? This would be handy if you ever encountered a bootloop, it would go right into recovery and allow you to restore a backup to get ur device functional again.

I have a rooted galaxy tab 10.1 (Wifi) p7510 from the US
I wanted to flash the pershoot kernel on my galaxy tab so that I could over-clock my processor and so I used ROM Manager to create a back-up and then used CWM to install the kernel. The install went fine and the device booted an was working flawlessly.
Then I decided to go back to my previous stock kernel and thus I booted into CWM, and clicked Backup/Restore and picked the back up I created. At the point where it is restoring data, it quits and says error restoring data and when I tried to boot the tab, I got stuck at the Samsung Boot Logo.
I tried wipe data, cache,Dalvik and nothing work.
I even tried advanced restore and managed to restore all components of the backup except the data.. Still no luck.
I'm downloading a custom ROM now (starburst) but how will I even be able to place it in the root partition if the galaxy tab can't boot into a usable state..
P.S. You may have noticed, I'm a noob so very detailed guides would be very good
Thank you

How long was it stuck on the samsung logo? If you didn't let it sit for at least 45 minutes, try that first.
So I left it for about 10-15 minutes and it worked.... Barely working though, almost everything crashes, very slow and choppy.. Looks like it's heavily corrupt.. At least now I can copy the custom ROM into the root folder. Is it safe to do so now??
And can you also post me a link to a .zip stock ROM for my tab??
Thanks a lot!
I had the exact same problem and I did following steps to get the tab working
1- find a stock from that flashable with Odin ( I used stock kl2 rom, can be found on tab 10.1 developer forum)
2 - flash the rom (.tar file) via Odin ( same as flashing cwm)
3 - after the flash I was still in boot loop no worries, go to recovery mod ( hold power + volume down then volume down and then volume up)
4 - wipe everything ( simply used very option that says wipe on it)
5 - restart and done! Everything is back to normal again
Only thing was I lost all my data pics etc but I got my tab working again
Btw not claiming these steps are essential, perhaps someone could come up with a more comprehensive method. This is just the way that I was able to restore my tab.
That's what I'm down to with my Tab. Flashing w/o CWM and/or unrooting to see if the /data error clears up. At least I'm not dead (I hope) to the point that I can't back up my SD card to external storage.
I can't restore any nandroid I have w/o the /data error and flashing custom ROMs gives the same result (everything FC's) except no /data error.
Wish I'd brought it to work today so I could tinker w/ it.
hey guys, searched the forum, found some stuff matching my post but figured i would put out an update. just rooted tonight, ive done these before and i used to be a member awhile ago but forgot what email used. anyway, galaxy s2 sch-r760. recovery problem. CWM doesnt seem to offer a proper recovery and im new to using odin so im not sure where to go from here. how can i go about making a backup if i cant get into recovery? i would like to do a new rom and back this thing up asap. need a new recovery or ideas for one. any help would be appreciated guys!
You need to expand on this. What did you do to root,do you have stock or cwm recovery?
Followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928566 to root. Its a generic CDMA. Root went fine. It tells me that it has root access. I am trying to flash CWM recovery and it won't boot into recovery from the CWM option. It shows the unpacking screen for a few seconds then reboots. As of now I am assuming its stock recovery because I can't get it to boot into recovery from CWM like I was saying
Tried doing a manual boot into recovery and it turned on, said galaxy s2, turned off then rebooted. Its acting like there is no recovery at all....
No help on this guys? Anybody mod generic s2 before?
Hello. I have a Galaxy Mini 2 (GT-5600d) more specific, and I installed a custom OS which the phone couldn't support well, so I wanted to turn back to my stock ROM. I found the ROM and installed it using ODIN 3.09 and the only problem I have is that I have to do a data wipe from the recovery menu. Problem is, the recovery menu is jammed for some time now. I didn't need it much before and never taught it could screw up. Seems that now I am stuck with the phone in a continuous boot loop. Any suggestions?
Hey guys! I had recently installed an Android 4.5 rom on my Samsung Galaxy S i9000, but I didn't really like it, so I went back to clockwork mode and restored the backup (which I am pretty sure I had saved prior to installing the rom). What happened then was that I couldn't power on my device. It literally gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy I9000 startup screen. I can however access download mode and I can access clockword mode recovery. BUT, when I try to install another update with clockword mode recovery or trying anything on cwmr for that matter (factory reset, cache reset, anything...), I get the error message: Unknown path to /sdcard and I am stuck at this. Can anyone tell me how to fix this issue? Please, I need help quickly!
I would just restore with official firmware via Odin and restart the process. This will set everything back right so you can have a fresh start. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
Hello guys, i am new here. i rooted my phone( samsung G900H) successfully about 3 months ago and i have been using it without any problems, but i noticed that anytime i try to boot into recovery mode(power+home+volume up) it gets stuck on the boot screen(samsung powered by android) until battery life runs out or i take out the battery, but download mode(power+home+volume down) works fine, i have no idea what went wrong. any ideas on what went wrong and how to fix it?
Many Thanks in Advance
Either flash a custom recovery like TWRP or reinstall the stock firmware if that doesn't work. Make sure to backup everything you need first.
