Hi everyone,
I'm looking for an app (and probable a windows programm) to share files from my PC to my smartphone. Connected to my laptop is a usb-external drive with 500GB. I like to access those files on my android, but dont want to use WLAN.
Is there a windows program which basically shares those files to my smartphone via usb?
In the end I whould like to see all files of the external drive on my smartphone.
with best regards
Neiko

Hi
I was looking for a way to bluetooth share a folder on my andriod to my pc
Sorta like how you would create a Network drive on your Computer so all your other computers can access it to transfer files instantly.
Is it possible to do this between andriod to PC?
I have a blue tooth dongle on my PC
just buy a bluetooth port for ur pc
Already have one..
Yes, I did search. I didn't find what I was looking for.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 5 player running gingerbread. I'm trying to access files on it from my WinXP box via wifi. This seems like it should be a very common thing to do, but I simply can't find it. If I plug it into a usb port, I can access the drives. Can this be done via wifi?
Again, I want to access the android from the PC. Not the other way around.
Thanks for any help.
Three possible solutions pop into my mind (I guess there are many more):
1) Use a ftp server on the phone and access the files using that.
2) Use AirDroid or a similar app. It will give you wireless access to your phone's file.
3) This includes something that you said you didn't necessarily want to do but should also work: Use an app such as ES File Explorer and connect to your Windows XP PC via network. You can share a folder over the network (with write access) and then you can copy files from your android to your pc. But I guess that is the least ideal solution of the above.
I hope that the apps mentioned above are available for your device and that a method works.
Thanks, Fabur. I'm sure one of them will work.
The reason that "android -> pc" isn't an option is that much of the time, I'm using it as a wifi camera to monitor what my dogs are doing elsewhere in the house. But it would be nice to be able to access the files on the player from my pc.
Is it possible to explore the SD card's contents on Android phone using Bluetooth connection ?
Years back when I had Sony K800, i switched on BT on phone and laptop, and I could see the K800 on the "My Computer" page.
then i could enter and explore and transfer files directly through the windows explorer.
Currently I have HTC Desire S, running Android 2.3.5 and Laptop CQ-45 (Compaq) running Vista.
But I am not able to explore the phone easily.
To transfer file I have to select each file, then start the BT file transfer wizard on laptop, which could either send or receive ONE file at a time.
if I try to send more than one file (pictures, few MBs), then only one gets sent and I have to restart the BT file wizard again to receive another file on the laptop.
I use this just if I need to transfer a few snaps i might have taken with the phone, for larger files (videos) i use the USB cable.
I installed the BT File Transfer app from the Market, but that also does not help.
Any other ways ?
My wifi is not always on, so i cannot use Airdroid or some such way.
Options are BT or USB.
thanks.
anyone ?
Currently the only options for OSX file management of an android device are:
Android File Transfer
Some form of web tool
Manual ADB
Google File Transfer is terrible, but I want to transfer files to my device when its wired to the computer. Why is there not a better solution?

What exactly are you asking ? .. Please elaborate ... The USB mass transfer protocol itself is better for transferring file from/to pc/android ... if that's what you're looking for..
I am wondering how to control the BitKinex program that exists on my PC from my android. I am not looking to transfer files to my phone but to transfer files from a remote server - on to my PC - using my FTP client (BitKinex) - from my Android.
I have BitKinex setup to do this on my PC and it works great but I am wondering if I can do this from my Android device.
Thanks
