Google Play Music and Bluetooth track info - Motorola Droid RAZR

Why do AOKP/CM9 roms have full bluetooth control via Google Play, but not the stock roms(blur .211 ics)?
When I use AOKP/CM9 rom variant, when I play from Google Play, the track information/controls work perfectly on my bluetooth radio.
If I go to Stock, the music plays, just with no track information or control.
(My Music/Blur) Default music app, does play with track info and controls but I would rather use Google Play. Can't use AOKP or CM9 roms yet because they are a bit too unstable for me right now.
Thanks!

On GB, i would get Track Info/Full BT Control with the Stock Music App (MotoCast) and Google Play. I have not tried either in ICS yet as i've been using Spotify as my main.
One thing you should try is to make sure the stock app is completely closed, even forced quit if you need to. I noticed in GB that if i opened the stock app at any point then tried using GPlay, it would still display the track info from the stock app.
A bit off topic, but if someone could find out how the track info works and made an app that worked for everything........... i would be a very happy person.

I have tried some roms (modded razr roms) that have none of the blur software (my music) and the Bluetooth track information does not work. I have disabled the my music apps (closed and clear cache), still no bluetooth info. Even removed the Play app "/system/app" and installed from the market.... nada.
I know the phone supports the Bluetooth profile. It's gotta be the os/app. even looked through the build.prop just being curious.

AOKP has AVRCP 1.3+ not 1.2 which is what stock has. that's why.

Google Music Force Close

Running Calkulin's ROM and Pershoot's latest kernel. Got my invite, loaded Google Music app, uploaded a ton of songs, can see my library on the Cloud, but force closes everytime I try to play a song. Any ideas?
Anyone else seeing this, or am I the only one?
Pershoot's kernel doesn't play nice with froyo. Clemsyn's kernel doesn't play nice with ginger. Here's the rule of thumb: froyo use clemsyn, ginger use pershoot.
CM7.0.3 stable plays Google Music from cloud not perfect but Ok.
Can anyone using Calkulin's ROM and Clemsyn's kernel confirm that Google Music is working? Pershoot has been really good to me with Calkulin, so I'm hoping to hear from someone prior to making the switch.
Went ahead and made the switch to Clem, still get immediate force close whenever I try to stream music. Like before, I can see my entire music collection, but can't play anything. Any other thoughts?
Are you overclocking? Try not to.
Also, did you try sample tracks from Google music or just yours?
Can you play mp3 from sdcard using Google music player?
Disabled oc with Pimpmygtab, still force closes. In light of the fact that no one else has chimed in that it's working for them with this combo, I assume this is a common problem. Local files seem to play ok on Tab, but it defeats the purpose of Google Music and the 60 gb of uploaded music. At least it works fine on my Droid X!

Well, that means something going wrong with streaming with this rom/Google player.

Working great on VeganTab with Pershoot's kernel.
That's another Ginger-based ROM through, right? Perhaps Google Music just doesn't work with Froyo-based ROMs.

I don't have my tablet yet. Getting it on Monday! On the Droid X Google Music doesn't work if ads are being blocked. Haven't read enough about the tablet to know if ad blockers are used.

[Q] Can any other music player access Google Music cloud files?

I haven't seen any music players that claim they can do this. I'm not even sure if it's possible, but can any non stock music players be configured to access uploaded Google Music files? I find the stock Google Music app to be a little limited.

Cloud Sniper just makes the downloaded off line tracks available. I'm wondering about a program that allows access to the cloud files, not one that are downloaded.

Jelly Bean Audio Issue

ok i dont know if there is a fix and i had tried to find, but everytime i reboot i have have to open my audio play, whether it be google music or mog or any music player and then i have to kill it then reopen and music works. does anyone know of a fix for this to avoid in having to open and kill it on every reboot? thank u,
I cant be the only one with this prob. Come on
I cannot honestly say I have heard of anyone on JB that has such an extensive issue with Audio...
I have run JB since I got the device and besides some early issues that have already been resolved... it was still never as bad as your experiencing!
I can only say to try and go back stock 100%, then once you have go through samsung kies and do the emergency firmware restore/wipe thingy, then try going back to a freshly downloaded copy of the JB rom of your choice...
Sorry your having so many issues
It is actually only when i play music from the device not streaming. I flashed the same rom on a stock ics note and they have the same issuez.

That was really hard to read.
Are you saying that you have no sound upon booting, until you open a music file?
If so, what music effect apps do you have installed? Check in the sound panel, inside the settings app.
Do you have Volume+, MusicFX, or Volume Boost? Anything like that?

when i open up google music, i click on a file and it just hangs, until i kill the app reopen then the file starts up normal, this happens everythine i reboot i have to do this after i do that its fine until i reboot again, also when i stream music it is just find its only when i play music on the device, this also does the same with MOG
Audio hang on i717 with Jelly bean
I have the same problem but not with every music app. Power amp works no problem but the apps I use for audio books Mort Audio Book Player or Smart Audio Books do not work unless i force close and then reopen. I have sometimes avoided the problem by opening a book in an alternate method so I suspect it may be something related to how the apps store the position in a track.
I also had problems with Map my run a run tracking app that can announce when you have run a certain distance. Map my run would capture audio focus and never release it. So my music would go silent until reboot. I am running CM10 stable but think I'll go back to CM9 becuase i use the audio book apps a lot and am too impastient and easily irritated to keep having to force close the apps. I have even had to battery pull on occasion but probably only because I was too impatient for the phone to come back online.

Does Google Play Music have Gapless playback on CM 4.2.x ROMs?

So the one thing I really love to do on my phone nowadays is play music while doing many other errands. I have some favorite albums that lend themselves very well for gapless playback, that is the songs play without a pause in between.
I recently read that the latest versions of Google Play Music app has this feature but that it needs the latest version of Android. But it is not clear if it works even then as I read comments on the app store by people who claim it doesn't work blah blah even though they are on the latest and the greatest!
So, long story short, can someone please verify if this works for CM on our phone? Because I am all comfortably setup with Viper ROM and I don't want to unnecessarily flash CM if it doesn't currently work!
Thanks

I am using Google Play All Access. And it works (for the most part anyway.) I would make a nandroid backup via the recovery of your choice and try CyanogenMod. But that's just me. But I must say that on wake-up, there is a slight pause, on sound. (could only be media) can anyone else confirm this or is it only me?

Best Music Player App for truesmart

Hi everybody,
I will be receiving my truesmart this week and like many others, I want to use it for outdoor sports with bluetooth headphones (biking for me )
What is the best music player app that can be used with the omate truesmart? Basically, I need it to work with the small screens and it needs to support playlists. My favorite for my phone is playerpro. Does anyone know how that app works with the truesmart?
Thanks for your help :good:
Try Fusion. It has playlist support and gives you Shoutcast support as well.

There are several free ones that work well:
-Apollo (CM music player)
-Google Play Music
-Google Music Player (try the old versions like 3.0 or 2.0)
-MX Player
By far my favorite, though it is paid, is AMP Player.
In the end, doesnt matter much, as the built in speaker sucks and bluetooth connections fail halfway though each song. Hope BT connectivity gets fixed now that Loki and Omate have access to the Mediatek source code
I just spent a nice 3 hours driving with my TrueSmart feeding KCRW Eclectic24 through to my car audio system via Bluetooth using TuneIn Radio Pro and my 5gig T-Mobile sim. The only cut-outs were due to gaps now and then in the T-Mobile network. The Bluetooth connection never failed once.

PlayerPro is my Truesmart default music player. It works fine :good: .
I received my Truesmart yesterday (yay!) and have tested out both the player pro and fusion music player (Thanks Lokifish-that is a great player and I had never tried it). Here are my results:
Player Pro: Music player works great, but there is no menu button on the truesmart or in the playerpro UI. The menu button is needed to pull in the playlists I brought in from my phone.
Fusion Music Player. When I installed this on my phone, it auto-loaded the playlists I had made in playerpro. When I installed Fusion on the Truesmart, it could not find the playlists.
Has anybody had success with pulling playlists from their phone into their truesmart with any music players (especially if it is one of the two mentioned above)? Also, has anyone learned if it is possible to remap the truesmart buttons so that they can pull up a menu similar to the standard button on almost every android phone? Omate should have included a menu button-this was a poor oversight on their part.
Menu in Player Pro (and other apps)
Hard swipe from the left margin of the phone brings up menus often for me (apparently including in Player Pro).

You are correct-that works perfectly
Edit: Playlists worked fine once they were in the right place, and after installing the Ensec enhanced security the bluetooth seems to be working great!
Thanks to all the developers working on getting this product functional. I'm a noob and my only experience with this stuff was playing around with the HP touchpad.
I tried Google Play Music but on the first startup you have to choose a google account which is not possible because of the low screen density. Is there any workaround for that?

Yes, you have to root, install xposed framework and change dpi for that specific app to lower than 120 with "app manager" module. 90 dpi works fine for most of these resolution problems.

Received my TS yesterday. It is the 1GB EU version. Could you link me to the correct root instructions page for that model? Wasn't sure about rooting because it looked as if the model ins't supported so far?
