Try removing the battery completely, then hold down the down volume key and plug the USB cord in and don't let go until it's in download mode. Then replace the battery into the phone. This method has always worked for me. Hopefully it does for you too

Help ! Broking phone

I have a Galaxy SII LTE HD from BELL. i757.
I succeeded in rooting the phone and instaling a cook ROM (cyanogenmod). Everything worked well.
Sadly, this morning, I've decided to push my luck forward and I tried to install another ROM wich is not eactly made for my phone (i757) but really near (I9100). It's the Slim ROM. Then after the installation, the phone didn't respond anymore. No booting, not event in recovery mode, only black screen like there's no juice in it anymore. I've tried to remove battery and put it back, I've tried to plug the phone directly on the wall. Nothing. The void ! It seemed totally dead. I've tried to do a soft then a hard reset. Nothing works.
I've bough the phone from somedy else so the company (BELL) won't repair it for free.
Do someone have an idea.
Any help will be really appreciate. :fingers-crossed:

No, USB jig is sort of USB connector which when connected force the phone to download mode. Search on eBay you'll find it.

I am not sure... correct me if I am wrong..
According to me JTAG is your phone's motherboard..
If my post helped, don't mind hitting THANKS
JTAG is the only way to get your phone up and running again, a USB Jig will not help with a brick like yours... Find a JTAG repair service near you...
JTAG is a way to program dead boards, it can either be soldered to your PCB, or the service center can use JTAG Jigs which is far easier to use, but JTAG jigs is not available for all phones yet...
Hope this will help you a bit
Best regards
There's a high chance that the USB Jig won't force your phone into download mode. Next option would be to think about a JTag. There is a website famous for Samsung repairs: mobiletechvideos.com. They are based in the USA and have a good success rate, but if the motherboard was damaged during flashing, JTag won't revive it. Next option after that would be a replacement motherboard, I'm not sure if you would contact your service provider or Samsung. Good luck either way.

[Q] Bricked Vibrant?

So i was attempting to root this thing and put a fancy new rom on it, but have got lost along the way and now the phone will not boot into download or recovery modes. It just says Samsung Vibrant and stays there until I pull the battery. I am unable to do the key combos for any of the modes. The only way I could get into recovery was through adb command. But now I cant even do that. Any suggestions or should I just throw it in the can! Thanks

Yes a usb jig (dongle) should solve your problem but its not a guarantee. I would recommend buying one anyway, its a good thing to have around just in case things go wrong. They are only a few bucks so its worth it. You can also try using odin, I have heard of people flashing to stock without a download screen, if you see a yellow com box in odin then your good to go.

try this.. it works for me..
1- Open ODIN on your PC. (DO NOT PRESS/SELECT ANYTHING IN ODIN!)
2- Plug in the USB Cable to PC
(preferably the one that came with your phone *My N1 cable doesn't work??*)
3- Power down Phone if you had not already.
4- Remove the battery.
5- Plug USB into Phone.
6- Hold down BOTH volume buttons and while holding both, insert the battery.
7- Two to three seconds later your phone will be in Download Mode.
Be mindful to not remove connection while ODIN is running.

@MikePysh
I have been in this situation. I feel for you. This the mothergoosing EU bug.
Best bet (and this is how I did it) is to replace the motherboard (I know it sounds scary but it is NOT).
Here are the steps:
1. Buy a used/busted/for parts Vibrant (broken LCD, etc) or even a Galaxy S 4G SGH-T959v from eBay or wherever you can. Do not pay more than US $30-35 if it comes down to that. These two phones, i.e. your T-Mobile Vibrant SGH-T959 and the upgraded 4G version SGH-T959v have the same specs with the exception that the 4G radio is activated on the "v" version.
2. You can either fix it yourself (if you feel brave) or take it to a repair shop and maybe pay US 20-25 for labor to replace the motherboard.
It entirely depends on how badly you want to fix it without throwing it away.
Check out this: http://www.ifixit.com/Device/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Vibrant to get a feel if you can do it yourself.
Hope this helps.
Thanks fham! Sounds like a project I might attempt.

[Q] Can i fix this

Here's the thing, i got a refurb yp-g1 and promptly hardbricked it (ex- in car flashing it and it came unplugged, totally my fault for being a idiot.) either way, it now vibrates when you attempt to turn it on, the screen does not turn on and you can hear the speakers running at a very very high pitch if you hold it right next to your ear.
I have a few questions.
How screwed am i?
is this repairable?
Did I damage the boot loader?
Is this fixable via software?
If not will inserting a new main board solve my problems?
Please help
Also if i can fix it with with software i need the image and what ever else would be required.

No my computer did not make a connecting noise. I had done my research and knew it was hard bricked because nothing was happening and fit the symptoms of a hard brick. it is now perfectly fixed thanks to the new board. I found out my dad has a jtag tool and hopefully over the summer he is going to help me resurrect my other board, i just would need to find a bootloader. But i would love to hear about the tool you have. Also, if anyone has a bootloader can they pm me with a link to it.
Well, I had done the same thing to my gp4.2. What you can try to do is:
Go into download mode and use odin to flash your stock rooted rom.
If you cant access download mode or if odin is not detecting your device...I'm afraid your going to have to get it repaired
First get your phone into download mode
Then download the pit file from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389873
Then put the stock rom in the pda box
Make sure repartition is checked
Finally Flash it and hope for the best!!
i have already fixed the device with a new board, it is the old board i want to refurbish.
