Try removing the battery completely, then hold down the down volume key and plug the USB cord in and don't let go until it's in download mode. Then replace the battery into the phone. This method has always worked for me. Hopefully it does for you too

Usually takes 10 seconds lol yeah make sure the computer has Samsung drivers installed and try the OEM USB cord. Although I have used non OEM cords before and worked just fine... I'm very very surprised that taking the battery out, then holding the down key and plugging in simultaneous didn't work.

Well,
I was flashing my first test theme of my new VR theme, and I got a status 7 error in CWM.
After selecting reboot, nothing now happens with my phone, can't get it turned on with any key combination or with a jig! Ugh!
Pretty sure she's done for...unless someone has another idea?
It just doesn't do anything at all? No boot image or anything? If so, i don't know what we could possibly do.

Yeah, if you could get ADB to connect, you would be good, but if it won't do anything, I can't think of anything else to try. Jig is usually the last resort.

Buddy, I think you have the magic jig.
But I hear that's what all the girls say.
When I press the power button I am given a screen of black background with orange/red font with these words:
RST_STAT =0x1
PWIC_IRQ1=0x3c
PWIC_IRQ2=0x0
PWIC_IRQ3=0x0
PWIC_IRQ4=0x0
PWIC_STATUS1=0xc0
PWIC_STATUS2=0x2c
Okay what happened was, that I was in download mode, I had Odin3, with re-partition checked (all three were checked), and a pit with eclair 2.1 target. But I forgot to set PDA target and clicked start. After it said PASS and blue in first box. The status bar at the lower left box said REMOVED. So I thought it meant to remove my phone. So I removed phone and closed ODIN. Now it won't boot...
Any advice?

I have been making several attempts to get to downloader mode so I may ODIN it back up again, but all have been unsuccessful.
Also read other threads on JIG and boot-up opitions, but those seem to require to be stuck in the carrier icon part of the bootup.

A jig could fix your problem potentially, you don't have to be at a certain screen for it to work. I can plug my jig into my phone with the phone completely off and it will boot into download mode....

So i was attempting to root this thing and put a fancy new rom on it, but have got lost along the way and now the phone will not boot into download or recovery modes. It just says Samsung Vibrant and stays there until I pull the battery. I am unable to do the key combos for any of the modes. The only way I could get into recovery was through adb command. But now I cant even do that. Any suggestions or should I just throw it in the can! Thanks

Yes a usb jig (dongle) should solve your problem but its not a guarantee. I would recommend buying one anyway, its a good thing to have around just in case things go wrong. They are only a few bucks so its worth it. You can also try using odin, I have heard of people flashing to stock without a download screen, if you see a yellow com box in odin then your good to go.

try this.. it works for me..
1- Open ODIN on your PC. (DO NOT PRESS/SELECT ANYTHING IN ODIN!)
2- Plug in the USB Cable to PC
(preferably the one that came with your phone *My N1 cable doesn't work??*)
3- Power down Phone if you had not already.
4- Remove the battery.
5- Plug USB into Phone.
6- Hold down BOTH volume buttons and while holding both, insert the battery.
7- Two to three seconds later your phone will be in Download Mode.
Be mindful to not remove connection while ODIN is running.

Yea I have seen that screen before, the dongle is going to be your fix most likely. Just wait for the usb jig if you ordered one, it should put you into download mode no problem. If for some reason the jig doesn't work then let us know.

@MikePysh
I have been in this situation. I feel for you. This the mothergoosing EU bug.
Best bet (and this is how I did it) is to replace the motherboard (I know it sounds scary but it is NOT).
Here are the steps:
1. Buy a used/busted/for parts Vibrant (broken LCD, etc) or even a Galaxy S 4G SGH-T959v from eBay or wherever you can. Do not pay more than US $30-35 if it comes down to that. These two phones, i.e. your T-Mobile Vibrant SGH-T959 and the upgraded 4G version SGH-T959v have the same specs with the exception that the 4G radio is activated on the "v" version.
2. You can either fix it yourself (if you feel brave) or take it to a repair shop and maybe pay US 20-25 for labor to replace the motherboard.
It entirely depends on how badly you want to fix it without throwing it away.
Check out this: http://www.ifixit.com/Device/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Vibrant to get a feel if you can do it yourself.
Hope this helps.
Thanks fham! Sounds like a project I might attempt.

Try to use Baywolf's Vibrant All in one. IT is really good. You could get into the download mode via the tool too.
Good luck.
So I'm trying to flash back to stock so I can give the phone to my younger brother as I've recently gotten a new phone, the only problem is that RSD Lite is not detecting my phone at all. I have all the drivers installed so I'm not sure what's going on. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I did look back to see if anyone has had the same problem as me, but nothing in those threads has helped me so here I am.
