HTC amaze battery issue not charging, led blinkig on and off - HTC Amaze 4G

I have had this phone for a while everything was working fine as far as i know its not due to software issue, two days ago i turned on the phone it sudendly started to really heat up quickly i mean fast on the back next to the camera ,not sure why ,so the i noticed i was at 56 percent so i started to charge the battery left it charging after a while i picked up the phone and again it was even hotter after seeing that the battery was at 22 percent i, so i thought ok it was a software issue reflashed the phone as quickly as i could had a spare battery that was fully charged tried putting in that one same thing after the phone Booted up , it started to heat up again getting really hot and still not charging left the cable plugged in all night , in the morning i looked at the phone again the led on top was red turning on and of phone still hot, went to the tmobile store bought a Brand new battery Yes its original htc battery tried charging that one too failed led turns off and off (red color) PLEASE HELP I LOVE THIS PHONE

Did you try turning it off and charging it. The phone won't charge if it's too hot. Led will blink red then green then off

yes i have that did not help it still kept doing the same thing with older battery and newer battery

Don't take this the wrong way, but a little correct punctuation would make reading your super long question easier. Just really hard to follow

What recovery are you using? I've only had that problem when using older CWM recoveries on this phone. Try using 4EXT recovery it resolved all my issues and the developer supports his product.

+1 on checking your recovery. I had this problem when I was using TWRP (or whatever the acronym is) recovery. I switched over to 4EXT and haven't encountered that problem since. To update the recovery you may need to acquire a charged Amaze, HTC Evo 3d, or Sensation battery. :/

It may be the cwm your using

Using cwm here with no problems.

Mine does this occasionally too, but only when using a USB or car charger never an AC charger. I am also using 4ext touch.

There is definitely something wrong. You need to return everything to stock and call htc.

Try your OEM A/C charger. Some people have reported the phone will only recognize that when the battery is fully drained.
Yeah.....return that! That is not normal at all.

Once I had my phone drain so low it died (not just turned itself off) and when I hooked up the charger, it took several minutes for the indicator light to come on and go into charging mode. Have you left it on the OEM charger for several minutes?

I'm actually experiencing this right now. It has been on the charger for about 10 minutes and still wont boot. I had a white light, now it is green. Going to give it a little more time and see how it plays out.

Yep, mine also started as white and evidently that means a completely drained battery. It changed to green and started charging soon after.

After about 15-20 minutes the phone booted up on its own. Just an FYI for anyone who thinks there phone is not working after it dies.
I've had this problem too. I just figured, it's a SMARTphone, it'll figure itself out This has easily happened to me over 5 times, and phone still works fine and holds over a day charge.

Bricked?

So I plugged my rooted stock rezound into charge. It wouldn't turn on to my surprise. The orange led will come on for a few seconds when I plug it in but then shuts off. I can't get into hboot or recovery. Says error device not found in adb. Don't wanna return to verizon like that. I could use some help lol

Is the battery completely dead? And do you have clockworkMOD for recovery? If yes to both, it's CWM's problem. You need to get AmonRA flashed and your battery charged up.
If not.....

Battery was at 70 percent when I plugged it in so I doubt it. But I do have cwm. It won't boot plugged in with no battery either.

If your battery isn't completely dead, try this. Unplug it, pull the battery for a few seconds, put the battery back in (do not plug the phone back in), and attempt to power it on. Once it starts to boot, feel free to plug it back in. I had this happen to me once when I was screwing around with recoveries.

Got it. Turns out the extended battery I swapped in was dead. The regular one in the phone is now a paper weight. I put my girls thunderbolt battery in and it booted so I charged my extended battery

verizon had external chargers for the rezound for 5 bucks a while back, they still might or amazon or ebay have them cheap as well.
I would stay away from CWM since it is causing so many charging problems. Why do people use this recovery on the Rezound when it clearly is buggy.

[Q] Bricked Amaze Won't turn on

Here's what happened
I rooted, unlocked, and installed Fourth Bar Sense and Faux's Kernel 0.0.8 about a less than a month ago.
Installation is a success, no bugs, glitches, and everything runs smooth.
3 days ago I charged the phone to 100% and reset battery stats since I read a post claiming that it could boost my battery time.
Today the Amaze runs out completely out of battery.
Plug it up, LED turns orange and leave it to charge for 2 hours.
2 hours pass when I notice that the LED isn't on.
Get suspicious. Try to turn it on. Wont. Try to go into recovery mode (
It's volume down, and long hold power button down right?) Nothing.
Would be thankful if anyone could help out.
What recovery do u have installed? Its probably one of two things, either the recovery you have installed is the older one that does not support off charging, therefore since its dead you will have to find another phone to charge it with. Or 2, your battery is fried...

I have C.W.M 5.0.2.6.
I've had problems off charging it before.
That's going to be near impossible. No one I know has an amaze, evo, nor sensation.
Should I take it to Tmobile and see if they can do something? Perhaps exchange it for a new one? I have warranty.
Just try letting it charge longer. I had a similar problem and it took a few hours to charge enough to be able to turn on.

Well, it's been charging for about 8 hours now and still won't turn on.
Something similar happened to me, and after plugging it in, unplugging it, replugging it in, taking battery out, and doing that for a bit my phone eventually booted up. If no luck, go to a TMo store and tell them you need to borrow a battery or phone to charge your battery.

Big battery...err....USB port... well I don't know...but its busted.

So my phone will not charge over 20% and its getting super hot... I'm talking melt the back hot... I took the otter off it because the plastic was starting to stick to the phone.
I don't know what happened.. the phone was fine when I woke up... after a few hours of light use i noticed it was really hot in my pocket... I took it out to find the battery was almost dead... and it was smoking hot. I shut it down and let it cool off. Now when I plug it in I got the "your phone is consuming more power than your charger can supply" message. Mind you this is the charger I always use and have never had this issue. Even after being plugged in for hours the phone will not charge over 20%... and again.. its getting super hot.
So this has to be a hardware problem right? I want to bring it into sprint but I'm afraid they will want to charge me 150 for a replacement. Should I go through HTC instead? If I do I am stock rooted... how can I get my phone back to normal so HTC can't tell?
Also I did not download any new apps or anything that would screw with my phone.

Question, are you using the charger that came with the phone? This phone, battery, appears to be very picky about chargers.

No I'm using a palm charger.... could that really fry it? I doubt that's the issue.
Sent from my Xoom using xda premium
Yes the palm charger very well may be your issue. Perform a factory reset and switch to the regular/stock charger to see if it will help.

to be honest bud this is the first time im hearing of this problem with amonRa my best aadvice is to wait for your external charger i use one my self and keep switching out batterys during the day..also if your phone is dead, i mean deaddead.. pull your battery out for about five min. then pu it back in and connect to a charger itll take about fifteen min for the led light to even come on.. then itll blink, then turn solid. you want it to be solid for at least ten min, as it needs to have at least enough power to charge..
I already tried taking it out even put he battery in the freezer for 5 min no led.....I just hate waiting.

I had this happen to me about a month ago. I pulled the battery and plugged the phone into a wall socket. The light came on, I put the battery back in and the light stayed on. It charged like normal and booted back up like normal. Hope this helps.

I had an issue running Rage 1.5, that when I plugged it in, the screen had to be on for it to start charging. After it started charging, I could turn the screen off and it was fine. It just would not start charging with the screen off.

My first Rezzy died for good several months back on AmonRa. Tried other chargers and cords to no avail, all suggestions on the forum then.
Figured it was a fried power circuit through and through, damaged via a short or power surge, something from the USB port on. Original battery was good after all and still running this second unit today.
Just cautioning to troubleshoot throughly before tossing money into other items if you wouldn't buy them otherwise. Verizon sent me overnight a CLN unit when I had the issue back in February.
Got home from work a couple of minutes ago tried booting up my Rezound again and it worked. I have no idea what in gods name happened but it works now........
