dead till further notice. - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

Hey guys-
Here is a stock, deodexed (only 2 odex remain), debloated rom. Flash it in my recovery after wiping system & factory reset. I have not tested it myself so please make a nandroid before you use it. I cut about 170MB from the ROM without removing much. I will be uploading two "rebloat" packs to add back the stuff that I removed if you want it!
OTHER NOTE: I did not sign this rom, so please uncheck signature verification in TWRP. I don't remember if it is on by default or not.
I also removed the htc linkify that is related to the Apple patent crap.

No need to reset...Just uninstall them
adb shell ls /data/app ---- to get the full name of the apk
adb shell rm -r /data/app/APPNAME
Example for K-9 Mail from Market (I installed this, just an example)
adb shell rm -r /data/app/com.fsck.k9.apk
Then reboot, works great!

Too remove non working apps you can either use adb and delete the apk file, or install a file manager like Astro. It has an application manager than can remove apps. If you wipe the device you lose all the apps you've installed working or not, plus any thing you've stored on the internal memory, and you'll have to reroot.

same here... google voice freezes when trying to skip voicemail setup.
Firefox mobile (fennec). IMHO a big improvement over the stock browser (pinch to zoom etc)
I'll try this... is this functionally equivalent to "rm /mnt/app/<apk> -rf" do the same thing? I have been installing using the scp method.
Will install adb and android kit tonight.
Also, has anyone tried to reinstall an apk after doing the rm uninstall? Might that be why some of my apps that worked are now broken?
Cheers,
Rich
3 more for the working pile
Evernote
DiskUsage
Google Sky Map (partial usage, can't access the menu so you can only mess with the onscreen options)
And one maybe working. I've got Cyanogen on my phone, so I copied the superuser.apk off and was able to install it on the nook. It will start with no errors, but so far nothing has asked me for su access so I don't know if it's actually doing anything.
Also, how are you guys getting the apks to install? I haven't had much luck finding some of them online, so I've been using my phone. Right now this is my process:
1. Install app from market on phone.
2. Backup app using Astro.
3. Upload backup to Dropbox
4. Download from Dropbox on nook

It froze at the end of setup, but after a re-start it's syncing and appears to work for the most part. I can't get it to play voice-mails though.
Fruit Ninja works, you just have to hit back when Feint tries to load. Although it only worked after changing the sqlite3 database to allow unknown sources installs

I've got version 4.0.0 on mine. As far as I know that's the latest.

[CM7 Addon][01-01-12][Latest APKs] Google Apps flashable .zip (AppsPackPlus.zip Too!)

Seeing as how their we have so much excess free space on /system, but quite limited space on /data, I thought I'd make this addon, based off the traditional Google Apps .zip addon for CyanogenMod. It contains the latest of all the included apps, as of the 26th. Included are nearly all the major Google apps available from the market.
There is also an Apps Pack Plus, containing several popular apps (Astro, Dropbox etc), system utilties (ROM Toolkit, Titanium Backup), Apps that are important to keep after a factory reset (Where's My Droid), social media apps (Faceboook + Messenger, eBuddy), and other useful apps that I personally use.
All the apps included are free and available on the Market, if any developer wants them removed, I will do so.
You can flash each on its own, however its highly recommended you flash the Google Apps Standard .zip. The Apps Pack Plus is very optional, and you can delet any of the .apks in it without issue.
Thanks to: Google, the CyanogenMod team, the developers of the included apps, and also Schwinni over at MoDaCo whose expanded GApps for the Blade inspired me.
Apps List
In Google Apps Standard .zip
Google Books
Google Car Home
Google Docs
Google Goggles
Google Earth
Google Maps
Google Market
Google Plus
Google Sky Map
Google Talk
Google Translate
Google Voice
GMail
Voice Search
Adobe Flash Player

Whilst i appreciate the work you've put into this, i don't understand why it is necessary or even in the dev section
The google apps zip from cyanogen is more then enough, but maybe i'm being a d**k and this is needed for cm7

Its just to free space in /data.
All these apps are the latest versions, and thus, versions in /daa will be removed freeing data. Cyanogens version is quite outdated at this stage. If you dont want to use it thats fine, if you do you are free to remove things or to request changes. And yeah. Read the first post.
In the long run this will end up taking more space in /data/ than it would before, as updates are released for apps that could of been moved to sd card but can't now as original app is in /system/.

Just use system cleanup to move the updates to the system again, xda just posted an article about it!
nice pack
thanks for the zip i flashed it and took out a few apps with titanium and then used system cleanup to transfer data to system and it worked great on my xplay(r800i 2.3.4 locked bootloader and CWM)
thank you for the tips

No problem! just so you know you can actually just delte apps from the .zip before you install it in Recovery.
If anyone wants changes, just ask
Rebranded the larger package as Google Apps Plus, and added a smaller package called Google Apps Standard.
Theres been no app updates, mind, due to Christmas I guess.
Made Google Apps Standard the main package, AppsPackPlus is now an optional add-on. Last change to format, promise!
Also updated Google Books app to latest version.
Also, I was thinking of adding Google Reader to the GApps standard package, and maybe Chrome To Phone and Google Authenticator to one of the packages. Thoughts?
Chrome to phone is a big yes. Use that one everyday.. (though with firefox.. so you might change that to 'browser to phone' for advanced configuration. Works the same as default chrome to phone though..)
Goolge Reader would be a big nono.
How about pulse? - Best News Readers (or RSS in general.) - Pulse.me
WhatsApp? - Most used?
Twitter? - why not?
Rolle Youtube? - Download Youtube Videos!
the XDA App? - Obviously?!
Camera Mod? - Right button Shoot
Also i love the XingPlayer aswell as TinyShark (and it's downloader!).. but that's just my preference there.
Edith:
Big Question.
I've been using my System with gapps ( obviously ) for about 2 months now.
Is it safe to flash your files above them without errors?
Will do a nandroid nontheless, but curious

Thanks for those ideas. Yeah you can flash over it without issue.
Thanks for this. It's necessary in case you install a CM7 "KANG" build and the Google Market apps keep force-closing.

Any chance of doing a similar thing for the ICs gapps etc...
I would really like integrated ICS gapps to install into system and save space on /data.

ps: change your title to Blackout Apps for "ICS".

ATT bloatware apps frozen!

Got my 32 in the mail today and immediately unlocked bootloader, twrp, and rooted with no problems. went right to titanium backup and froze all the garbage bloatware so I don't have to look at that junk polluting my gorgeous new screen! Love this phone already!
For someone who is pretty new to the whole unlocking and rooting process, is it pretty simple? I read that you could loose the flashlight and calculator, did it happen to you?
If you lose it, just go and install a rom!

I didn't lose any apps when I unlocked my bootloader. I did have to install the flashlight.apk, but I don't remember having it even before I unlocked

Didn't lose Calculator, don't recall having a flashlight app... but yeah Rooted, unlocked, CWM. No ROM yet though, holding out for AOKP
same as everybody else. It is easy as long as you can follow directions! I didn't have the flashlight app or a ringtone maker to start and no, I didn't lose the calculator. There is a ton of apps and dashboard switches you can download to replace any stock things you may lose though.

Not if they're frozen. If you try to uninstall them they will reappear after a reboot because of the way the system is protected. Using a custom kernel or installing a custom ROM that has the apps removed are the only ways to completely get rid of them right now I think, but freezing them is good enough for me.
Why not just disable them through the regular app manager?

This goes back to freezing them. That's the safest way you can "eliminate" junk apps without jacking up your phone. No need to search for a "safe list". You can use Titanium Backup or Rom Toolbox to freeze apps.
Same here. first thing I did once I had root was to freeze at&t's preinstalled bull****. Add tasker and gsam battery, I'm good to go for the time being while waiting for ROMs to shake out all the bugs.

I normally use Titanium Backup to remove bloatware and was shocked when I rebooted my phone and they all came back. I know you can freeze with TiBu if you have the paid version but I am cheap. It isn't that they don't deserve it, I was close to purchasing it before I found Bloatware Freezer Free.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lukemovement.bloatwarefreezer.free - works perfectly.

There is a flashable tweak that removes the bloat. And it sticks after reboot. I don't remember what it's called or who did it... Been a month since. I did it. But it is here on XDA.

uhhh,,, whichever one you feel meets your needs of the gapps package............
I personally use either Mini or Full and then delete the stuff I dont want,,,
just recently I started using the .gapps-remove feature to simplify the process as I tend to flash a lot on my new phone
Chrome as a browser is real nice but it is extremely slow with our limited memory... I would recommend staying with Stk Browser or some other favorite light Browser...
Also I personally felt that the Now Launcher tends to get slow/laggy and finally keeping with the included DU launcher... I dont use the 'OK Google' stuff anyway nor do I like having a searchbar on any of my launcher homepages
