Micro sd card, and micro sim - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

Has anyone noticed the blue plastic that is on top ofboth the micro sd card and the micro SIM housing. Should that be removed or should it stay on the housing?

Micro SD card issue!

I just got a new Patriot 16gb micro sd card to upgrade my stock one. My problem is when I moved my stuff to the sd card from my 8gb to the 16gb the new card works for a couple minutes then the phone shows the "sd card has unexpectantly been removed" or something like that but the card is still in the phone. What did I do wrong?
You need to format you card from the phone menu than recopy all of your stuff back to it and you should be good to go.
I did that already and it still gives me the error.

Were can I find the cheapest SD card?

Droids and Memory cards MicroSDHC

I was sitting here thinking, How cool it would be if it was possible first, and then if a manufacture would produce a phone that can stack or run multiple SD cards. Kinda like a desktop usually has 4 slots for RAM...
Is there a reason why Phones can't have at least 2 slots for SD cards?
Our phone already has something similar. We have our internal as well as out external. I don't think it will happen though as with how cheap sdhc is most people would rather have 1 large card.

Yeah.. I dunno. Maybe soo..
Cool idea but don't see it happening. Hell, some phones such as the GNex don't even have a micro sd slot just large internal.

Wouldn't think multi SD card support but maybe expandable ram for Tablets and hybrid phone/tablets or possibly true USB support as in being able to connect a thumb drive to the phone not just access the phone as a USB mass storage device thru the micro USB/charging port.
I don't even use the 16 gb available to me, but I guess it'd be cool for those with more storage demands
the Sg3, can use two. both 64gb if you have them.

If it did have multiple SD slots you'd be able to setup a RAID array if you were adventurous enough. Might be fun from a hack point of view anyhow...
Dell Streak always had 2 slots, 1 external, 1 internal, internal microsd card can be changed, swapped or upgraded to any size you like with some effort, you have to cut away a section under the battery cover to expose the internal card.

[Q] How to solve microSIM's spring problem?

Do any of you have faced any problem trying to remove the microSIM card? I press it down, but it doesn't pop out from the tray. I think the spring is either missing or broken.... :crying: am I the only one who have had that problem? anyone knows how to fix it?
I think there is no spring, just pull the SIM out!

Thanks! But, then, it is veeeeery difficult to pull it out and I think I'll end up breaking the SIM!
Do you use any accessory for removing the microSIM?

Sometimes my fingernails are enough, but in most cases i use pincers for it.
open the slot's cover and look from the back for a spot where you can hold
the SIM best, the pull it gently out in the correct direction.
Don't be too carefully, the SIM is a bit flexible!
I have a constant problem where my sim card keeps coming out. Everytime I open the cover the sim card is half way out of the slot.
What are you guys doing pulling your sim card out and breaking the socket?
I haven't removed my sim or sd card since I bought the phone except to check to make sure I had the correct size sd card the day I bought it.
Once i put my microsd card in the Sim card slot by mistake and it fits perfectly except that it doesn't spring out when pressed.
Had to use a tweezer to pull it out.
And yes both Sim card and microsd card slots have spring ejects when pressed.

I got the cell already with that problem I gess. I put my microSIM card when I bought it and I didn't notice that the spring was missing till I had to travel to other country and I tried to remove my microSIM card in order to introduce other microSIM card of that country for using 3G without paying roaming...
I'd like to fix it, but I've asked in some stores and they don't know how to repair it :S
Warranty repair sounds like the best option if you are still under warranty.

Unfortunately I don't have the receipt, so no warranty
Besides, I'm in Europe, and paying the shipping + waiting 3 weeks for getting it back.... even if I had the warranty, I'm not sure if I'd use it.

How to use micro sim from gs3?

I would like to use my Rezound as well as my gs3. I bought a sim card adapter. When I put the card micro sim into the rezound it says no sim is installed. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm using a micro-sim with an adapter in my Rezound as well. It will even work without the adapter if you're careful. I'd say give it the old take it out and put it back in. It's a little tricky keeping it properly seated in the adapter when you're installing it. If you bought the phone used, it may just have a bad SIM card slot.
Not used. Have adapter. Tried about 15 times with and without the adapter . No luck. Damn verizon and their different sized cards.

If is works in your GS3, then I don't have anything else. Sorry!

[Q] Advice for keeping the MicroSD card from falling out?

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has any novel methods for keeping the Micro SD card from flying out and getting lost. I lost a card in the past because of the lack of protection, and was wondering if anyone figured out something better than tape. Thanks!
Wedge something between the card and micro sd slot, also I think slicing your micro sd so it won't stick out will help a little
