[Q] Advice for keeping the MicroSD card from falling out? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has any novel methods for keeping the Micro SD card from flying out and getting lost. I lost a card in the past because of the lack of protection, and was wondering if anyone figured out something better than tape. Thanks!

Wedge something between the card and micro sd slot, also I think slicing your micro sd so it won't stick out will help a little

How to fix messed up micro sd cards?

Hey guys my buddy gave me a 16gb micro sd from his droid x. I guess something happens with those things and corrupts the sd card. Anyways, I was wondering if you guys knew a way to fix sd cards so I could use it in my atrix. Thanks!

You can get a USB adaptor ($2 - $5) that turns any SD card into a thumb drive. Then just plug it into an available usb port in your computer and reformat the card. Should work unless there's actual physical damage to the card.
I've found that there's an added bonus in that it's faster to move stuff (photos, movies, etc) to & from the card when I have a full-size laptop screen, mouse and file manager to work with.
Awesome guys. I think ill try the usb method and if that doesn't work im guessing ill be going to Wolly world!
Thanks guys!

Hi, i know you didn't have any files on the sd card you needed but I thought I would mention this software for anyone who recently went through what I did. My girlfriend came to me upset that her card suddenly had no photos on it, so I googled corrupted sd card and it came up with some opensource software called testdisk/photorec. It found almost all the pictures and made me look good...

its called asda over here but steeling a new card isnt much of a fix now is it lol

Try to use disk tools to exam your SD card and format it?

Droids and Memory cards MicroSDHC

I was sitting here thinking, How cool it would be if it was possible first, and then if a manufacture would produce a phone that can stack or run multiple SD cards. Kinda like a desktop usually has 4 slots for RAM...
Is there a reason why Phones can't have at least 2 slots for SD cards?
Our phone already has something similar. We have our internal as well as out external. I don't think it will happen though as with how cheap sdhc is most people would rather have 1 large card.

Yeah.. I dunno. Maybe soo..
Cool idea but don't see it happening. Hell, some phones such as the GNex don't even have a micro sd slot just large internal.

Wouldn't think multi SD card support but maybe expandable ram for Tablets and hybrid phone/tablets or possibly true USB support as in being able to connect a thumb drive to the phone not just access the phone as a USB mass storage device thru the micro USB/charging port.
I don't even use the 16 gb available to me, but I guess it'd be cool for those with more storage demands
the Sg3, can use two. both 64gb if you have them.

If it did have multiple SD slots you'd be able to setup a RAID array if you were adventurous enough. Might be fun from a hack point of view anyhow...
Dell Streak always had 2 slots, 1 external, 1 internal, internal microsd card can be changed, swapped or upgraded to any size you like with some effort, you have to cut away a section under the battery cover to expose the internal card.

Micro sd card, and micro sim

Has anyone noticed the blue plastic that is on top ofboth the micro sd card and the micro SIM housing. Should that be removed or should it stay on the housing?

Definitely stay on. they both just click in.

Upgrading the internal 16GB to 32GB

Is there any way to upgrade the internal 16GB storage to a 32GB? I'm not referring to the external MicroSD card.
It might be possible i think samsung use SD cards as their internal storage.
Yh of course there is sell ur 16gb version nd buy the 32gb version
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
ORRRRRRRR you can try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772234
is it even possible ? unless there are motherboard with 32 gb for sale ?
This is not possible for the conventional person unless you have access to some pro level reflow ovens and flash chips.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
You need a laptop hard drive, super glue and a hammer.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
So is that basically a no, without serious mods to the phone?
Dude the internal flash memory is what's called smd in electronics (surface mounted device). Basically they are miniaturized semiconductor components with tiny solder pads which can only be joined with specialized equipment.
It's impossible to mess with it at home, that's why I sprung the extra cash for the 32gb version.

This is indeed a very interesting notion since the galaxy s3 was my very first smartphone and android I thought to myself that with the 16gb internal SD with an extra external SD card it should suffice but I was very wrong as apps only install in the internal SD card and I'm almost at my limits since I have alot of HD games and apps installed.

Just buy a 64 GB micro sd card.
Have a look at Directory Bind. This should solve your space issues (assuming you have a micro sd card in your phone).

Im new to rooting so i don't like the idea of fiddling with it so is there any other means?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Lot less hassle rooting than even thinking about opening up device and messing with that...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Yeah but there's a mod to swap the Internal and external SD cards so you could buy a 64gb card and have lots of app storage. Its also a matter of time before the app2 SD gets sorted for s3
Oh well no worries, I can live with it

MICRO SD removed unexpectedly error?

Hello
I keep getting this error on my phone after trying to wake it up from stand by "micro sd card removed unexpectedly"
I tried formatting it, and still same problem. I made sure that it's in it's place perfectly, same problem.
I'm not using a cheap sd card, its a SANDISK ULTRA HC card, 32 gig!
Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks
No, but I had this problem on a past phone. Mine required replacement. ..the SD card.

Ya I had that same issue with that same card with my galaxy s3. I replaced the card with one specifically designed for Smart phones and the problem went away
Sent from my SM-G900T using xda app-developers app
I think it may be a card issue as if I remember correctly in some of the threads in the ATT S4 General forum a lot of people have issues with the sandisk cards.

I think it has something to do with Samsung as I have that exact card and never had issues with it in an HTC my touch phone my stepdaughter was using at the time, however I did with my s3 and N2...
