Can someone tell me how can I do that ? Should I apply some settings in Sixaxis or Joystick Center ?
You just have to plug it in through USB OTG and you're good to go.
Afaik you'll need an app for the Bluetooth connection tough.

In Sixaxis App just plug in through USB and hit Pair, and USB/BT App plug a BT dongle into OTG and hit search to get dongle's address then plug controller in through USB to pair then unplug and hit search and should find controller over BT.

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but do you still need to be rooted to use sixaxis app on the GS3?
I only ask as my stock TF101 works flawlessly with a PS3 controller over BT after pairing via a USB cable - no root required! Is that a general ICS thing or just a TF101 thing?

Hey guys. Today I bought OTG cable. I tried play Nova 3 with Ps3 controller. ( I didn't do anything. I just used cable. I can control homescreen, apps. But I can't play Nova 3.
help guys Now I have cable but still I can't play some games.
Only some games have built in support for controllers. NOVA doesn't, but if you get Sixaxis Controller you set-up touch profiles so different keys will emulate motions on the screen, that's how you can do it.
Also, only certain devices support PS3 syncing via BT without an app, my Sony Tablet S has built in support, you plug it in, turn bluetooth on and it's synced via BT, but the GS3 doesn't, so if you want to play without the OTG cable, get Sixaxis controller.
Nooo, I want play with OTG cable. How can I use Sixaxis Controller with OTG cable ? Or, Should I try Joystick Center app ?
By using sixaxis controller you'll be able to create profiles for all games , even nova 3 k:

USB/BT controller (I think the app you're referring to) also has Touch Emulation via a plugin (it requires Root just like Sixaxis Controller does though for touch emulation), but as others are saying, why would you want to do that when you can do it wirelessly? Wireless connection affords you the advantage of being able to also connect to MHL and your HDTV...
Anyways, more information here:
I can't do Sixaxis. I think USB/BT Joystick Center is easier than Sixaxis. But I can't find Ps3 controller buttons in Button mapping.

Why can't you do Sixaxis? It is definitely easier than USB/BT - the video above has a guide for a Nova 3 touch emulation and Sixaxis pairing and the blog has a touch emulation profile you can just download and start using!

I have downloaded the compatibility checker and it doesn't display a Bluetooth address at the bottom? I tried manually inputting the Bluetooth address from my settings screen, but still no joy.

another question: i get a ps3 controller from one of my friends. if i pair the controller with my tab via the pc-tool, will the controller still work on my friends ps3? does he have to re-pair the controller with the ps3? or will this be done automatically?

Can't see why not, as long as you have the blue tooth enabled on the tab then it should still work.
strange...paired the controller via usb, pc and the pairing-tool.
installed sixaxis. started the app, clicked start, pressed the power-button of the controller, the lights on the controller stopped blinking and the light 1 stayed, sixaxis said 'client connected: 1'. then i changed the input method to sixaxis (activated it before in the settings).
but it doesn't seem to work in snesoid?! selected "use input method", tried to map the keys, but the controller doesn't seem to get recognized / to work.
am i missing something? what steps did you proceed to get it working? i'm desperate now, trying to get it to work since hours...

ps: the device is rooted and sixaxis got superuser rights.

Of course, that's not the problem, the problem is the Bluetooth Stack on the SGSII AT&T apparently doesn't support the needed protocol. This also was confirmed on their site where they said there was an inability to use it with newer Samsung Devices.
You need to be running CM7 of Muiu, which use the working bluetooth stack.

It can be done with Honeycomb 3.1 I thought when they announced it a future update (anything past 2.3.3 I thought) was going to include it for Gingerbread, looks like we just have to wait for ICS
TBH the idea of a wireless controller is more attractive to me anyway. A PS3 controller can be combined with a market app to do the job? If so, would it be able to function as the input device for, say, NES/SNES emulators?

Yes, typically you can remap the buttons and do such. Since I have been unable to do such, I'm trying to track down a bluetooth gamepad that I could use with my device that isn't a PS3 controller. There are some on the market, just trying to find the best option.

Have you confirmed that the OTG cable is working for more "common" stuff?
The PS3 controller isn't a fully standard HID device, so requires a special kernel driver to work. I'll try to whip up a test kernel for you to try in a day or two.
FYI, in addition to the kernel support issue you may be subject to the same limitations as PS3 controllers on the Tab 10.1 - the PS3 controller MUST be fully charged prior to connection or it'll try to charge and trigger an overcurrent trip.

It's next to impossible to do stack-splicing between CM7/MIUI and Samsung stock ROMs. I've never seen it done.
OTG Connects a Keyboard and USB Flash Drives. I tested it with a WD 500GB desktop drive also, works well.
I can say that the PS3 controller works great with the EEE Pad when it is plugged in, no Bluetooth support in Honeycomb. Though once ICS comes out, we should have native Gamepad support through USB then. That's going to be a glorious day.

For what it's worth, I went ahead and got a DualShock 3 controller, the Sixaxis Controller app, and SNesoid/N64oid. After initial configuration they all work extremely well together, allowing some good on-the-go gaming. Now I'll finally have something to do on long car rides or between classes. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
Note: I am running Cyanogenmod 7, which avoids the problem described here.
I just tried it with my PS3 controller. Works extremely well.
- First use the compatibility app to get a MAC address looking string, write it down somewhere.
- Then go on your computer, browse to dancing studio website and download the driver install app.
- While the driver install app is running, plug the PS3 controller into your PC, Windows 7 actually told me something like the driver has not been approved with MS, ignore it and proceed.
- Type the MAC address that you've obtained in step 1, and update the controller
- Download the Sixaxis app from marketplace for $1.79. Run it. Turn on your PS3 controller. Everything should be detected and it will ask to turn on Sixaxis Input method.
- Open up SNESdroid, map buttons, enjoy AWESOME gaming.
edit: I'm on Entropy's completely stock rom, but rooted of course.

I was able to get a Playstation(2) USB controller adapter to work with an OTG cable in one of the ICS leaks. Also was able to get an original Xbox controller to work. But, since the leaks were found to be brick-happy, I've switched to AOKP with the Siyah kernel. The kernel works with keyboards and mice with OTG, but not game controllers yet, and the bluetooth stack isn't capable of connecting to a PS3 controller or Wiimote currently with CM-based ICS.
So I have the prime and a ps3 controller and i changed the controller mac address to the primes and i can get it to connect using the sixaxis app but when i open up and emulator and try to configure the controls it registers one of the joysticks and the dpad as the same and wont even register the other joystick, did i do something wrong? also USB/BT Joystick Center wont even detect the controller, and I dont have the usb adapter or keyboard. It sees the right joystick and dpad as the same and wont detect the left analog stick movement besides pressing L3

I used my USB-OTG cable to connect my phone with the xbox 360 usb receiver.
It's the same device I plug into my pc to play games with my wireless controller
Hey, I have an answer to this,
1. You need an app called USB/BT JoyCenter Free. Download the apk somewhere online. I'm using version 3.0100
2. Plug in your XBOX360 wireless to your phone using the USB OTG adapter.
3. Open the app, inside, top left, switch the IME to ON and choose the USBJoyFreeIME as your input methods
4. In the app, click on SEARCH NORM and it will start scanning for the controller. When it scans just click on the box that appears. Your controller should connect to your phone now.
Apps that are suitable would be emulators, I normally use this method for PPSSPP emulator. Hope this helps
