I know the .pit is out for the international, but we need one for the us variants. I think there would be two of them, one for the 16 gig and one for the 32 gig. Anybody have them?
I know its not needed to flash, but sometimes repartitioning is needed.....

is there a way to repartition the internal sd card ? i want to increase the 2 gb partition for the apps storage , it would be good to take some space out of the usb storage as its big enough
i tried to use clockworkmode and use partition sd and set it to 4gb and 256 mb cache but it did nothing
Hmmm.. I been wondering how to do this also, but it's not so easy as it sounds..
I guess you'd first have to download an official Samsung ROM, the latest "full" one -including a .PIT file- and modify this .PIT file with the correct addresses and block sizes of the partitions you want, and then flash this .PIT back on the phone (using ODIN or Heimdall, though I never repartitioned a device using this latter program. I find ODIN less user-friendly, but less of a pain in the butt to use also).
But I never tested it (for lack of time up to now.. It's incredible all the things that I end up wanting to customize on an Android.. xD) and I don't know what this would give when you flash a stock ROM on the newly partitioned device, because this ROM would expect to find some particular partition layout that just isn't there anymore.. It would probably only work with a custom ROM like Cyanogenmod.
it would be awesome also to have galaxy nexus file structure that makes teh phone just one partition , that will solve all the need for more storage minus that usb host wont be able to work but mtp is just fine
My SD card is broken, so i can not install any apk right now, and i happen to find that my /data is totally about over 1GB, and right now, there are several hundreds MB left for free. then i have a idea, can we make a seperate partition , as internal SD card.
then i google , and get some information about pit ( partition information table), which is used for samsung phones. and also i get the powerful software PIT_MAGIC. till now, i only get into here. do you guys have some more idea and more clear thoughts on this case ?
i will try to learn more information about building Roms and PIT or something else related, since i am not familiar about android ROMs, what i was doing with my I500 is just normal daily usage. Any comments and suggests would be really helpful to me, and i will be appreciated for all your helps.

the only thing I can tell you is to look at the LVM partition that jt, previous dev for the fassy, brought to us for 4.1+.
16GB S3 i9300, Temasek CM11 Rom
I can't get the /data partition to recognize as anything other than 4GB. I've used Mega Wipe, flashed a stock 4.3 rom w Odin, wiped data, formatted data, flashed a pit file in Odin. I don't see any backups, Disk Usage only sees the partition as 4GB. I've done this all many times just to make sure.
My mmcblk0 partition says unmounted and is 7.5GB. Could this be my issue?
Try this

Try this
Erase-All-Content-on-Samsung-Galaxy-S3
Im not sure about this
Flashing a pit file is a last resort on a total brick, it could have been just legacy data held when you updated from 4.1.
Try the rescue firmware, in general thread, if formatting the internal sd card didn't help.

I tried the 4.3 Korean Rescue Firmware. Still no go. Only 4GB data partition. My phone is made in China, I'm wondering if that is why. It doesn't appear to be fake as it's taken every rom I've ever flashed to it no problem. I wish there was a little partitioning program so I could see if there's extra umounted space there. I just feel like I'm about out of options, I'm not sure what else to try. Maybe the 4.1.2 rescue rom?
Just tried 4.2.1, no go with that one either

I'm dealing with the exact same issue on a SGH-T999. It's a 32GB phone but is only registering 11.95GB. When I look at mmcblk0 it says it's unmounted (see attached screenshot). I've done many of the steps you have and still no dice. Not sure where to go from here. I hope you and I get answers to our problems.

I flashed my phone what seemed like 100 times trying everything everyone told me to do and I gave up. My phone is only 4GB but everything works, oh well! I wasted about 100 hours messing with it and nothing can make this 16GB, or ~11GB anyway. I'm hoping to pick up a bigger SD card when I get back in the states as my 16GB is about full, too.
[FIXED]

shiggins,
I finally figured this out and fixed my phone. I know you tried several things. So, let me run past you the solution that worked for me.
I located the appropriate .PIT file for my phone (S3 T999 UVDMD5). Then I flashed the stock rom with root (i.e. root66 ROM) with the PIT file. After I flashed it with the correct PIT file, I got my storage back. Have you tried this?
If you have and it didn't work, it's probably because you didn't have a good or the correct PIT file for your phone. Let me know if you want further direction and I'll do my best to assist.

I know this worked for you but I would use extreme caution here! Flashing pit files is only to be used as a last resort! ( To recover from a hard brick)...
Recommending to flash pit files when (1) Your phone is fully working apart from minor issues is very bad. or (2) When your phone is not hard bricked...It's not just you I see many posts where people just recommend flashing pit files and they don't realize the consequences Flash At Your Own Risk!!

I did flash a pit file a few times that said it was from a 16GB i9300 but that didn't seem to change my NAND partition size. I've pretty much given up, if I have a lot of extra time on my hands in the future, I may try this whole thing again but in the end I was unsuccessful and I'm usually very persistent in troubleshooting phone issues. Thanks for the advice, everyone, though.
Hi,
I need to re-allocate memory on my device. It was brought as a live demo model... i have since rooted and flashed a custom ROM but i only have 2gb out of 16gb usable due to the allocation of the memory on the demo unit. System shows at 11gb and i have no custom recovery backups.
I have located a PIT file online ...but the file is posted as a PITname.pit.txt and i cannot get Odin to recognise this as it is just a text file. Is there any way i can convert or use this file?
Please help me.
Many Thanks
Hi guys! I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime (SM-G532M). It had 16GB of internal memory, until it flashed with an internet firmware. After that it is only recognizing 8GB of internal memory. After a lot, a lot, but a lot of research, I did not find a firmware that made available the 16GB and not a PIT file. I studied a bit about PIT files, but nothing that enabled me to edit the various partitions, with their "strange" values. I even tried to use the Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime TV PIT file (SM-G532MT) believing it to be 16GB (but I used the SM-G532M's PDA). But compared them I realized they were the same! Please help me! Having more 8GB of internal memory and not being able to use it is lousy!
I have the same problem, I noticed that using the app file explore it only finds 2gb only, this is very strange. I also downloaded several firmware and can not change
Having the same problem here, and it's making me insane! Can someone help? After flashing the stock rom the phone tells me i have only 8gb internal storage instead of my actual 16gb.
I solve it; although I'm not sure how.

I made multiple attempts, until I could find the "recovery mode", there I did all the "wipes" and then I gave "mount storage". Then, after the restart I already recognized the storage of 16 Gb.
Here are my hypotheses: 1) The ROM was not completely installed. Well, until he finally entered the recovery; did not finish working the "android". 2) Simply, complete cleaning is necessary after installation of the ROM STOCK. 3) I did not recognize the storage because the extra storage was not "mounted" for which the ROM was not prepared that we invented (it may be prepared for the 8 GB version). 4) I forgot the fourth hypothesis. Excuse me. Greetings, I hope you find it useful. That was the only reason to answer here.
