[Q] Flashing rom via fastboot? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi, is this possible to flash a rom via fastboot on Xperia P? Cause my phone is kinda half-bricked now. Access to fastboot and CWM recovery... (So smart to wipe everything)

You can flash a kernel and a boot img trough fastboot, there a threads about that
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app

Well, I got it ;-) I entered recovery, mounted storage and put zipped rom in so i can flash. I had troubles cause my phone froze on bootscreen and i had to wait for the battery to drain out... Anyway I did it

same problem for me, i can't go in recovery mode (i think is half bricked) so the question is the same: can i flash rom via fastboot?

No you cannot flash a rom via fastboot.
If your device is half bricked then you have to flash stock jb ftf using flashtool.
Hit Thanks If I Helped.

HELP!!! Trying to do Cyanogenmod

I'm not stupid and i'm pretty good at these things, especially when following instructions. But I can't find Recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.4-galaxys2.tar.
I've got recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.5-galaxys2, but it's in .zip and when I unzip it there is nothing I can do with the files.
Where can I find the .tar
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
Edit: Btw i've found download links for recovery-clockwork-4.0.1.4-galaxys2 but the page isn't working.
How do I do that? I only know how to use Odin.
CDW is clockwork mod correct?
You are supposed to flash the CWM zip file from stock recovery.
Odoslané z GT-I9100 cez Tapatalk 2
right, done that from external memory (sdcard) now do I have to go through the stock recovery every time I want to use clockwork mod recovery?
p.s. to xda people, your image verification is crap! I can barely read the words and I am HUMAN!!
Once you flash CM9 you will have permanent CWM.
Odoslané z GT-I9100 cez Tapatalk 2
Flash the through the stock recovery and you'll gain temporary ClockworkMod recovery. Flash the CM9 zip using the temporary CWM, wipe the data and cache.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
done it
It's like a completely different phone!!!
Thanks for the help guys!!
P.S. Again, third time I've failed the verification thing, one word is English, the other is a mash of letters.... So annoying!!

I was using rooted Stock 4.0.3. I installed CWM recovery. I didnt unlocked bootloader. I did a full wipe but forgot to format cache, data and system. I installed Jelly Sandwich and patched it. When I reboot my phone it stucked at sony logo. When I want to open recovery it also stucks at sony logo. Also when I connect it to charger sony logo appears forever and indication led is not flashing. What can I do to solve this?

Good day guys! I have the same problem. It is actually my first time at this so forgive me. I was trying to install CM 10 on my Neo V. So I went to CWM, wiped data/factory, wiped dalvic-cache then went on to installing the rom. It gave the status 7 error. So I went back to the file to remove the getprop lines. Tried to flash it again, but got another error like this "set_perm: some changes failed". After rebooting, I'm stuck at the "SONY" logo. I can't go to CWM anymore and I can't go to fastboot (pressing volume up + plug usb) too. Is there any way to recover my phone? I'll appreciate any help. Thanks!

Did you unlock bootloader before trying out CM based ROMs
Also a clean install is what i'd suggest
First flash The kernel inside the Zip
Then,
Wipe data,cache,dalvik cache
Format data,system,cache
Install your Rom
Also ,Fastboot is not accessed by vol up button but Menu button+plug usb

Wow! That was fast! Thank you very much! Yes, I was able to unlock the phone's bootloader via fastboot way (if you will). I was trying to install cm-10-20130609-NIGHTLY-haida. I believe haida is the correct one for Neo V? Thanks again!

Thanks a lot for the fast replies! My bad on the fastboot buttons. I was able to figure that out now and also the flashmode. Right now I'm trying to download Mt11i_4.1.B.0.431_customized cenral europe 3.ftf.7z. I believe this is the stock ftf for Neo V? Another question, the boot.img is the kernel inside the cm-10-20130609-NIGHTLY-haida.zip right? Should I install it using flashmode? or should I use the CWM to install kernel? I'm really sorry for the newbie questions, I have been trying to find the answers myself but there are a ton of info and videos that always give different ways to do them. Obviously, I followed one that did not work for me. Thank you again! I'll post updates.

Goodnews to me! I was able to revive my Neo V, big big thanks to your help. I was able to install the stock ICS ftf.
So at this time, will I start again at the beginning like root, unlock bootload, install CWM again? I'm not giving up yet on this thing. :fingers-crossed: I tried to access CWM, but it is not loading at this moment so I'm guessing I have to install that again, right? Thanks again! I hope you won't give up on my newbie questions.

Just to update my case, finally, I was able to install CM 10 rom successfully. I guess the one that messed my first try is the franco kernel I installed initially before installing CM 10. Thanks a lot to all who helped! I do appreciate it very much! :good:

[Q]Status 7 CMW

Hi guys,
I tried on my xperia sola "FXP147" to install. But this process was interrupted with the message "status 7". As I have previously tested other roms, I thought I could just use another. But even with these Roms always appears the message "status7". The only way is to flash with "flashtool" to back the stock Rom. And then Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v16, and then touch CMW recovery and so on. Only to read at the end: "status7"
And over again.
Can you help me?
I have a rooted and unlocked xperia sola
Thank you!
I'm from germany and use Google translator (;
Open ur cm9 rom zip and extract boot.img and put in flashtool folder if u hav its easy process

[Q] bricked phone? please help

Hi guys,
I decided to flash my kernel and rom etc even though I know not much about it all. Nevermind, I root my phone, unlock bootloader, install cwm, try 2 different kernels but they only boot and then nothing, just black screen. So I flash stock kernel and phone worked normally. After that I saw a couple .img files I downloaded, i tried to put them into phone somehow through flashtool, nothing waqs working so I renamed those kernels images to system.img and put it into phone with flashtool in fastboot mode, and then button Select system to flash. And now my phone is stucked at booting. Theres only sony logo until i pull the battery out. How can i flash back to stock system and where can I get those IMG files. And I cannot get to recovery mode. I did a backup but i cannot use it without getting to recovery mode.
Is there anyone who could help me?
Thank you very much and sorry for my english.

Thanks for rreply.
I used
marckernel0.3.img
and then
boot_ICS_plus_v5.img
and I got them from this forum.
I renamed them to system.img and then by using flashtool, phone in fastboot mode, I used Select system to flash so it might be the problem. Using kernel img and used them wrong way. And as I said I can't get to recovery mode. So for repairing I can only use fastboot or flash mode. I tried to repair it with SEUS. It said I have wrong system data so it cannot proceed.
Did you try flashing stock ftf through flashtool?

Yes, whole story is.... I rooted phone, then unlocked BL, then install cwm, then I flashed 2 kernels, after each flash, phone booted and then it got stuck on black screen. Right after that I flashed stock kernel and phone booted and loaded normally. And then I used img files mentioned before the way I said. So I think I don't need to do anything with kernel but with system data.

Can you give me a link to any custom kernel? And then should I use fastboot or flash mode? I feel like I'm completely lost now.
So I used MT11i_4.1.B.0.431_kernel.ftf to flash current kernel. After it I managed to get into recovery, run latest backup. After it phone booted and loaded normally. I guess it(s the end of me trying to do something like this with my phone.
Thank you guys for your help
