Making this thread about emulator apps and roms. What apps run well for you and what's your favorite roms for each?

I'm jealous of my brother who has the Samsung Captivate because he got one of my favorite games, DOOM. I can't find it with my Eris even after running the market fix. I've tried just googling Doom.apk, but all it returns is the paid version that requires you to download the game files through the apk. And obviously since I didn't pay for it, it's not going to let me download the game files. My brother has the one that's free, about 5mb in size and made zhibin niu. I gave the developer my email and he sent me a link, but it only directs me to the market where it says it can't be found. If anyone knows where I can get a download of this, that would be great.
It can't be found on the market because the game doesn't support Eris phones. I doubt the eris could even run DOOM. It doesn't have the cpu or gpu power. Sorry bro.
That's probably true. I just wanted to be able to actually try it out and get confirmation so I can either stop searching for it or play the crap out of it.
You could always download the SNES emulator app and get the Doom rom for the Super Nintendo and play it that way.

Not a problem. The 4-5 dollars I spent on the Super Nintendo Emulator was the best money I have spent for my Eris.

I play the Final Fantasy series. Which emulator are you using? I am using SNESoid. I have the roms for every SNES game ever released in the US, so I'll try out Doom later on in the next few days and let you know if I have any better luck and if I had to change any options.
I'm a very avid SNES fan. I still have my original SNES that I bought the third day it came out, and no plans to ever get rid of it, nor any of my games.

I'm with you. I still got mine, and it's still hooked up to my samsung lcd in the living room. I play it on occasion when I get nostalgic.
Any suggestions for which sites have good (non-corrupted) downloads?
Seems like every site I try is just a loop back to the same crappy webpage that I'm getting really tired of seeing.
I've been using ROM Grabber from the market and everything has been working fine. Not sure of any actual websites.

Just google SNES roms. cool roms, dope roms, and romnation have good roms. I believe that they have been forced to take some games down though, like the Mario series. You can still find roms in the torrent world though. I believe there is a torrent that has the entire SNES collection.
By the way, if your Eris breaks on you, tell Verizon that you will switch to Sprint if they send you another 1. They will send you a Droid 2, but you have to buy the battery, the back, and the charger. But the 3 of them only cost 61, so it well worth it.

Good question. I would check the "my downloads" on the Gameloft site and see if its there to redownload. Also try the full webpsge and check using your phone number and email address. If all else fails contact gameloft support. They helped me with purchases I made on the Evo4G and sent me links for new versions for the 3D for free. Good luck.
Errrr when I go to the gameloft site....and click buy all it does is reload the page....all other games work when i hit buy.
Well i called gameloft and they text me the dl link....running very nice on our EVO 3D phones

And I dont have the 3d games app anymore....is there another way to get this....I have the game installed already but cant find a way to update it to version 1.0.3 and therefore cant play it for now.

You are using a custom rom that doesn't have the build.prop set right. That's why the mobile site doesn't see tour phone as an evo3D.
Try going through the actual webpsge from a computer. Or look up changing the build.prop.

Does anyone know when you set up the payment plan? Is it when you launch the game? I haven't seen anything on the website to tell me otherwise. It only states which payment plans you can choose.

When you buy the game you get like 3months free. After that it will force to into a monthly or yearly plan.

Actually. If you visit the wapshop.gameloft.com site and not use the 3D Games app, it should allow you to select which phone you have at the bottom of the page.
I am useing stock build, when I go to wapshop.gameloft.com they dont offer me Order and Chaos, but it does know I am 3D. Amyone get it to work.

Here is a link to a zip with all the games found in the Gamestop retail tablets. This is for those with the Gamestop exclusive TFP to help restore your games. This is for those who accidentally, or purposely, delete the games by doing a factory reset. Since Gamestop support has no knowledge of the games on the tablets and don't know how you can get them back, I posted the games here. Until someone can say that Gamestop has a way of restoring the games for us, this link can be made useful.
This is not in any way a method of obtaining games that didn't come with your tablet.

Thanx I wanna have a backup for when I start flashing stuff to the tab. I'm just having problems with sonic CD, it will not download it fc's half way.
Don't even bother downloading Sonic CD. Waste of time and space. It looks like someone took the first sonic game and made it available here but didn't change anything about it especially the graphics. It wasn't optimized for the prime because it is heavily pixilated. Just the look alone makes me hate it.

You aren't allowed to post games in here that aren't free. As they didn't come with my BestBuy TFP and i must purchase them, this is technically warez and can get the forum/you in trouble.
And also, this is the development forum, not the themes/apps

since these games didn't technically come from factory installed, deleting some won't affect OTA? you know how if you delete system installed or factory apps OTA updates won't work. the sonic game looks cool but very pixalated. not tablet optimized.

It should work fine, the amaze just isn't on the list of devices they will allow to download it from the market.. the only way to get it is by illegitimate means(or read the last paragraph).
Contacting the developer is totally pointless, this is the worst company to deal with in any way.. I spent $15 in game and never got what I paid for, months went by, multiple times they contacted me.. but never got the refund no matter what I did. I eventually gave up since I put in more work than it was worth for the $
I would recommend buying it with another compatible device(if you have one), copying the apk to the amaze(I hope I don't get in trouble, it isn't pirating if you paid), and it should work fine. I may have had to edit my build.prop, I can't remember. That is how I was playing it on my nook color(from my vibrant). But don't spend a dime in game unless you just don't want the money. Really, I would say avoid the game altogether, it is cool for a minute, but FAR from a product worth paying monthly for.
Downloaded but not working
I changed my build prop and it appeared on the market. Bought, installed completly, logged in created character, selected server, but then it tells me their's an update. Takes me to market and no update for the game. Weird cause theirs no compatibility issues, but ive been talking to Customer Service and they've been helping. Till they fix dont try the hack apk(does the same) or download it from market, hoping they officially release for our phone...ridiculous they dont.

Anyway, here is a word document that explains how to install Order and Chaos onto the Transformer Prime using a Chinese method.
ROOT REQUIRED TO GET THE GRAPHICS WORKING! Chainfire 3D is used to emulate a Qualcomm processor. Without this the game will not get past the "Play" button after character creation.
tegra2 apk of order and chaos works great on tf prime without any further patching and rooting. But its not legal to post it here, so you guys should look it up.

i'm just a little confused and have been interested in this game for a while so i wanted to post this to see if maybe there was a way that i could finger out a way to get it running on my tab...

dood, i TOTALLY apologize for my stupids. so i did some research because when i saw your post, i thought ''theres no WAY i paid 7 bucks for that!". order and chaos ran on sale a while back for a buck. i got it then. my bad. can we please still be friends?
So I somehow managed to find a copy of Order and Chaos which worked perfectly on my unrooted prime, alone, and without the help of other hacks or apps. I found it simply by searching "Order and Chaos tegra 2". I have no idea if it was hacked or altered, but it just worked. It was able to download and log into version 1.0.9
As irony would have it, on the very same night I found a working version (3 or 4 nights ago at this point), my celebration was cut short when all the servers went down and updated to version 1.1.0. Of course now my 1.0.9 was unable to log into the servers and I haven't been able to find a working version of 1.1.0.
Its out there, a copy of 1.1.0 which doesn't require the rooting and altering initially suggested by this post. If anyone finds it, let us know where. It would be a remarkable feat and a great in-your-face to Gameloft.
I'm currently working on getting a 1.1.0 version working. So far I have it starting but then crashing before "Touch to Start Playing" pops up :/

i would appreciate any info, as i have purchased this app on my galaxy s 2 when they ran it on sale a while back. i just think playing on the prime would be MUCH better

Looks like this does a device check like all the others . Worth the shot though, thank you.
In the meantime I've been having a nice time playing touchscreen World of Warcraft through Splashtop HD, and its working very nicely .
I hadn't realized that it does a device check *after* the data download. I thought the device check was initiated prior to the data download.
You can bypass the device check by downloading the cracked version by Muzhiwan (google it). However, I have been struggling to get it to get to the Main Menu. Crashes before Touch to Continue pops up. If anyone manages to get it to work it would be great.
I think the problem is the graphics renderer. It all works until graphics have to be rendered (loaded at touch to continue). Chainfire has had no luck so far getting this to work. :/

Tried going the Muzhiean route but their PC software is in Chinese.

i bought the game today on my galaxy nexus. Played fine on it. Then i did a titanium backup, took the apk, then shared the apk to my TP.
Game loads up but a message pops up to say the device is not compatible but "you can try anyway". So i clicked OK. and bam... it just closes.
i guess the only way to get it on the TP is when gameloft decide its about time they fix it for us!
