I was at a T-mobile store and took a look at the One S and the Rezound is better in these aspects.
1. Camera is better quality front and back I have back pics to prove
2. Screen is clearer on Rezound with Sense 4 rom well duh 720p vs qhd
3. I tested sound a little Rezound is clearer.
4. SD card slot/removable battery
One S is better in these aspects
1. Snappier due to stock sense 4 vs port
2. Camera burst mode works much better than laggy burst on Rezound which can be fixed because I saw I think inc 2 with it working really good.
3. Well duh One S has S4 chip
4. Imagechip but really Rezound can get all those imagechip features without it anyway.
One S is better than GSIII in these aspects
1. Better or worse UI but that's personal preference. I like Sense better
2. Beats
3. Better or worse Camera I forgot to test
4. Slimmer
GSIII is better in these aspects
1. 2 GB ram vs 1GB
2. NFC but I really dont care for it.
3. Screen size if you like it bigger (That's what she said)
4. Removable battery/SD card slot
5. 720p screen
Rezound is better than GSIII in these aspects
1. 342ppi vs 306ppi which technically means clearer screen on Rezound but still with Samoled HD on GSIII looks better.
2. 2mp vs 1.9 but really who cares about .1 difference.
3. Camera is a bit better. Sorry dont have pics since I forgot to send GSIII photo to my phone.
4. Beats and comes with Beats headphones
GSIII is better than Rezound in these aspects
1. NFC but like I said I really dont care for it
2. S4 Chip and phone is snappier
3. Bigger screen if you like it.
4. Slimmer.
5. Better battery
6. Screen looks sharper cause of Samoled
I did also notice lag opening GSII camera though and cam force close.

Hard choice between GSIII and Rezound
If GSIII had sense Id choose that.
Still I wouldn't mind going with touchwiz either. Im not going to give up my Rezound for one but if I never had a Rezound, I would go GSIII
GSIII VS. One s I would go with GSIII cause of screen quality, cam and sleek design.
Thank you for the review. I did see one error though. You said a plus of the Rezound over the SGS3 was a removable sdcard. I am pretty sure the SGS3 also has the removable sdcard. I might be wrong though....

You're probably thinking shout the One series not having removable storage.
ReZound
You should also take a look at the Incredible 4G, it's like the One S, but same camera as the Rezound(though no Image Sense) on the rear, microsd slot, 4in(could be a plus or minus), and SLCD2 screen, which is suppose to be clear than the One S screen. Plus it's Droid branded Sense 4 if you are into that.

It maybe huge, but the question is are we to a point that 2gb is giving us that much an advantage? Are there Android software or games that requires more than 1gb of ram? I have hit the 1gb ram threshold so far, at least I don't think I have.

Way to answer his question..moron. If you educated yourself at all, you would know the the GSII is not available on Verizon, and the Rezound is only available on Verizon.
So, to the OP. It depends if you like sense or touchwiz better. The rezound's build quality is also better...HTC feels a little more solid. But, the rezound has not been rooted yet, and the nexus will get better development. I would go with the Nexus.
Well bro Nexus is pure google. No touch wiz. I like sense, but again I asked hardware, not software,
Ok, hardware comparison:
Rezound doesn't support GSM - the Nexus does
Rezound is thicker (13.7mm vs 8.9mm)
Rezound weighs more (170.1g vs 135g)
Rezound has higher pixel density (342ppi vs 316ppi)
Rezound has a smaller screen (4.3inch vs 4.65inch [Some of the Nexus's screen is taken up by the softkeys])
Rezound has 16gb internal storage (Nexus has either 16/32gb)
Rezound storage can be expanded via microSD (Nexus has no card slot)
Both have 1gb RAM
Rezound does not have NFC (the Nexus does)
Rezound has a higher resolution camera (8mp vs 5mp)
Rezound has a higher resolution front camera (2mp vs 1.3mp)
Rezound has a faster processor (1.5GHz dual-core vs 1.2GHz dual-core)
Rezound has Radio support (The Nexus apparently doesn't)
The Nexus has a better battery
The Rezound is cheaper than the Nexus.
Some things do not matter entirely; like a higher megapixel camera does not necessarily mean it will take a better picture, higher pixel density does not necessarily mean that it will look better, etc.
The Nexus also seems to be having a lot of problems and bugs with ICS, which will no doubt be fixed in the future.
It's a close call tbh.

Well I can tell you didn't read the post at all. SHOW ME A GSII AVAILABE ON VERIZON! And if by chance you do find one, it will cost you over $1000 USD because it will be one of a kind. How is that for a deal?
If you like sense and you don't mind waiting for updates, the Rezound would suit you better.
The clear advantage of a Nexus phone is the latest pure google experience and what you can do to it without too much trouble. For me, the Nexus would be the clear choice without even thinking about other phones for a second. But since you're debating, it doesn't seem like the nexus is the clear choice for your needs or to your liking.
It's best if you went to the store and tried them both out. You're the one ultimately using it so no one can really say what you should buy.
But at the end of the day, you can't go wrong with either.
I Really want to get a new HTC phone so i could get rid of my blackberry. I used to have a touchpro 2 and loved it!

Are you in the US? If so, you're saddled to AT&T and we all know AT&T is a Rezounding failure. Verizon isn't picking up a "One" phone that we know of ... so unless Sense 4.0 is a deal breaker...Rezound all the way

It won't get Sense 4.0 officially, but developers are already working on Sense 4.0 with ICS 4.0.3 and it's a day or two from being released as a daily driver.
Even then the One X is a quad-core phone, there's no reason not to get it.

Honestly, do you really think you'll notice the difference between the S3 and S4 in daily use(if you're getting it American)? I'd rather have a 4.3 inch screen with 720p, than the gigantic 4.7, its nicer, and plus we have removable battery and sdcard space, a huge plus. The Rezound can run sense 4 perfectly fine, HTC just wants the one series to be their main money makers.

I don't care what a new phone does if you can't take the battery out.
Those are two really good reasons that nobody wants a nexus.
Performance wise, it won't be the deal breaker, since the dual core pretty much handles everything smoothly unless google optimize the next generation os with quad-core. Bigger engine doesn't always run faster and more efficient , especially in this high gas price age.

The nexus has a removable battery.
I don't mind the whole not.having an sd card thing. I'll be honest, it didn't bother me one bit. It takes five minutes to copy all the files over to your computer, and with the WiFi file transfer apps, its even shorter.
I definitely wouldn't base my decision of which phone to buy on whether there is a removable ad card. Unless someone can explain some great features that I simply haven't found yet.
With that said, the rezound is an awesome phone while amazing hardware. I absolutely love it

Even if Google optimizes the OS for quad cores, it'll only help for the actual Android system itself, not any of the apps you use, half the apps in the Play Store only use 1 core anyway and won't probably ever change that since it's not needed. (Facebook for example, Pandora, etc)
The S4 is a beast processor, best available, Tegra 3 is good for pure power but probably nothing else, I'd hold off on it honestly if you're rocking anything in the past few months.
Now if the One S came to Verizon with a S4 in it, that'd be a better debate.
I am really stuck here. I love the One X's SLCD2 display and sense, but I think the SGS3 will have better battery life and a removable battery (correct me if I'm wrong), so I would really appreciate an un-biased answer, I have until the 4th of May to make my mind up completely. A poll has also been attached. Thanks!
We don't know anything about the s3 yet. You seem to not have fallen in love with that phone or you wouldn't be asking, so send it back.
But, the s3 isn't even being announced until the 3rd, and who knows how long we have to wait for a release? And depending on where you live it could be longer (might not be worldwide right away). So in that sense, keep your 1x.
You also need a 'don't give a ****' option in your poll
If you're asking this it would suggest you aren't overly fussed on the One X; I wasn't either for the short period I was using one.
If I was in your shoes I would send back and wait for the release of the S3; or at least wait till the 3rd and see what is unveiled. I think the S3 is going be better than the One X; and I am pretty positive it will be a removable battery since Samsung are known to hate internal batteries.
Touchwiz on the S2 did ruin stock ICS, but remember touchwiz 4.0 was designed for GB, the touchwiz on the S3 will be designed for ICS, so it will have more of an ICS feel which will be sweet.
I am going try get my hands on one, my work will be getting one hopefully; but I wouldn't get much use on it.

And TouchWiz doesn't?
In all honesty OP, you're best just sitting on the One X until the S3 is officially announced and you can see how the specs really line up. Give it a week, there will be 10 reviews of the S3 vs. One X and you can make an educated decision for yourself.
Personally I don't think there will be much difference between the two, if at all. If the current trend to drop the removable battery and SD card is followed then the only thing that will separate the two will be design.

Have you used SGS2? At least on GB the Touchwiz was very light and smooth compared to laggy Sense on Sensation. + With Touchwiz there comes the only real smooth web browser in the Android world at the moment.
So I was typing a response and accidentally refreshed the page... From my perspective, I would go for the SGS III, though I do agree that it may be a good idea to wait until the third to see if it is what you want. It all comes down to preference, get what you want. I'm a bit fed up with HTC because of the poor build quality of their phones I have used and worked on, as well as the locked bootloaders. I don't think they have much in the way of quality control (I went through 3 Evo 3Ds before I found one that didn't have an extremely yellowed screen). As big of a deal that Samsung is making about their new flagship, it had better be good.
Wait and see if it is the device for you.
EDIT: Also, Sense is a b**ch.
what a great idea to post this in the GS3 forum xP
i'm in the same situation, just that my OneX has backlight flickering. so i could return it and instead get a GS3...
i wait till it's announced, if it has better build quality than the old galaxies, i switch, else i stay.
i still hate the paperfeeling of the galaxy devices

Hah. Chill. Yes I've used an S2, I've owned one since release day.
I have no problem with TouchWiz, it was a joke. I would hardly call it light, but it is smooth. And yes, the browser is awesome (although I prefer Chrome).
For me, right now - before 3rd of May, this question is irrelevant. After SGS III premiere, you'll know what's going on. Today all you know about this phone are rumors. So let's wait till Thursday.
for me ,waiting S3 ,but my girlfriend HTC ONE X also awesome. power phone
AT&T has a history of releasing the Galaxy phones about six months after Samsung announces them.
So don't expect to see an ATT LTE Galaxy S3 until October/November at the earliest.
If you don't care about LTE, then you could pick up a non-LTE European GSM version for $600-$900.
I'd stick with the HTC though. That LTE is totally worth it, IMO.
I'm almost certain that the GS3 will be slightly better than the ONE X, but when it comes to quality, feel in the hand and looks the ONE X is very hard to beat (and lets be honest, Samsung doesnt have a history of classy phones)! Anw i'm torn between the two and i hope Samsung makes my decision hard! Cheers!

Hi
yeah it does look likely that the s3 will only be slightly better
1. s3's screen will more or less be the same as the one x's
2. they both have quad core cortex a9 processors under the hood
3. the s3 may have a better gpu
4. one x already has 32gb memory so sd card slot or not it doesnt matter
5. s3 may have better battery life and maybe even a removeable battery
6. s3 will probably have 4g lte
so it is going to be the gpu performance, battery life and 4g that will give the s3 the win over one x's better looks and feel assuming the s3 is not gonna have the same
BUT is all that really worth the wait...................

To respond to hannibal post :
1. The screen will be better then x's that's 100% sure
2. Sgs3 will have better performance on that quad core
3. Sgs will have better gpu , we agree on that mail 400 440 mhz (prolly)
4. Sgs with sd card slot
5. Bigger battery then HTC X, 2050 we are expecting, quad core using less battery , sgs3 will have green pixel which will reduce 20% amoled consumption
6. agree on that
7. led notification (possible)
8. Samsung will add something new, smth like eye recognition...
Anything else which goes in HTC + would be design
Its not worth to wait , its worth to BUY !!!

i just want to know... wich one should i choose? i love both. maybe i like more htc for disegn and sense. but i think SGS3 is more powerfull and got more things i like for example the rgb notify led, bigger battery(and i can extract it) and MicroSD. i dun really care about cameras. so.. give me your opnion ^^
thx all for help!
wait for the gs3 to be released. then wait a bit longer to see what problems it may or may not have. read the reviews. then make your own decision. they are the same phone more or less. only dif is some software tweaks.
as for me... ill be getting the gs3 if i decide to upgrade.
The One X has the same screen, everything is almost the same: camera,RAM, android version...
But there are 2 differences:
- The GS3 has an Exynos quad-core 1.4 GHz processor when the One X has a 1.5 GHz dual/quad-core processor (depends of your location),
- You must choose between HTC Sense or Samsung TouchWiz interfaces !
Iv got the one x and gs2 choosing between the gs3 is just down to design and feel for me as ill root it as i have with ny hox and gs3 so TW doesnt nake a difference to me aha so decide on design

Its not far behind. Just not quite as fast. They are both a9. Samsung is just a little bit better at designing the chips
ok =) and another question. am i wrong or the blue gs 3 is lot darker then this forum image? coz from videos on youtube its near to black
You know as good as anyone. May 29th it'll hit he stores
These are the things that set each device apart from the other in my opinion. Almost everything else is fairly similar in both devices:
GS3:
- MicroSD card
- Up to 128GB storage (64GB handset + 64GB MicroSD card... really expensive though)
- Replaceable battery
- GPS + Glonass
- Touchwiz
HTC One X:
- IPS LCD display
- Cheaper
- 32GB storage
- Tegra3 games
- Sense 4
I think people aren't really representing how much better the S3's hardware is over the One X (particularly the international version).
Advantages of the S3 over the One X (international version):
Better SoC, also quad core but the HK-MG technology means significantly battery saving Vs NVIDIAs solution
Better GPU
Better battery capacity
Battery removable
Micro SD slot with exFAT compatibility
Likely much better sound quality given Wolfson DAC (I have the One X now and it's sound is passable, not a patch on the S1 I used to own)
Better GPS with GLONASS
Much better video capture (stills quality still unknown, but GSMarena preview makes me tend to think the S3 will best the One X there)
It hardly boils down to design and TW Vs Sense (S3 loses on both counts, but since most here won't use the stock launcher regardless the second point counts for a lot less than it will for the general consumer).

thx all for reply especially NZtechfreak that what i was looking for maybe if i see a gs3 in real i will like the design too and as you said i will probably change rom so i dun care of sense or tw.
Htc One X, or cheap plastic phone. Then phones are similar.

been having quality issues with mine..love the phone it nice but its going back..getting the GS3. plus i have a 32GB thats not being used..
it all depends on user..
Since you are happy with GS1, most probably you will happy will GS3 too. If you think you like HOX designed, let me assure you that is not worth sacrificing removable battery, sd card slot and overall features which GS3 is indeed better than HOX. Anyway, wait until you are able to hold the real device on your hand before deciding.

Don't choose white one x if you wear jeans, apparently.
Samsung's white plastic should be fine (booyah).
If you want a real quality flagship smartphone to experience go with SGS3.
My thoughts (not going to help you, OP - sorry, lol):
Whichever is available with AWS (so I may have to wait for a US/Can variant). OR, whenever T-Mo finally refarms their 1900 MHz band for HSPA+.
Barring that, I'm torn, too. For me, I'd buy the One X if they would have added a micro SD slot. It doesn't matter if it's the S4 or the Tegra 3 ... both seem hot, but I'm leaning towards the Tegra version only because the dev community would be larger there.
I would have liked a removable battery, but it's not as big of a deal as no micro SD.
I'd buy the Galaxy S3 if they would have put better thought to the design. TW is just "okay". Lots of features make me worry that there may be unforeseen things that can go wrong. Plus, I'm siding towards the HTC's camera app over the TW one.
I would have to pick up the SGS3 and also play with the camera app first hand to make a decision. Also, I'd like to see a real camera review between the HOX, SGS3, and the iPhone 4S.
The software/camera app may be a moot point if/when the OpenDesign feature pack for CM9 becomes a reality. HOpefully it's an addon pack so that users who don't want all that fluff can continue to use a clean CM9.
EDIT: I want to add that if the HTC EVO 4G LTE was a pentaband HSPA+ phone, I would have bought one by now. Seriously, the only thing I feel that is strongly missing the microSD.
The Rezound ranked third in user satisfaction in a recent survey, besting the iPhone 5. Despite getting almost no support from HTC and Verizon, people are happy with this device. source link
I am sure that this comes as no surprise to users of this forum. Despite being nearly a year and a half on the market, the Rezound still holds its own spec wise.
Of course, I would have far less satisfaction with the device if it weren't for the awesome devs at XDA.
Yep, the development is the only reason I don't have a dna right now. They are still struggling with s off and aosp ril problems. I'm glad there's so many types of roms here to keep me busy

I would absolutely hate this device if we didn't have these awesome developers. But spec wise I love this thing

Haven't been around for a while (for obvious reasons) but saw this, too. It's nice to know that the Rezound has this sort of rating. My daughter has mine now and she loves it, having come from an iPhone 3GS.

Rezound hardware is awesome, especially the screen. The software was made great by devs.
Rezound, s-off, loving it.
Coming from a bolt I can say I won't miss that headache of a phone. This is a great phone but to bad I can late in the game lol.

If this thing had shipped with an S4 processor it would have been perfect and still the best phone in VZW lineup. I've found a ROM that I love in de-Sensed Ineff Deus, Gr8Nole's red theme, DSB's awesome kernel and all the other tweaks performance-wise. That has freed me up to play in the fun Android activities like theming and app building. The M7 may steal me away if it lives up to expectations but I'm more than happy keeping the Rezound until then.

If HTC and VZW made a Rezound II with S4, adreno 320, same screen size as current Rezound or slightly bigger but not 5", 1080P (but not a necessity), 16gig onboard, SD card slot, swapable battery (but not necessary if slightly thinner), and better headphone jack shielding. I'd buy it right now even if it was running ICS. The current crop of phones have to many compromises. Non swappable batteries, no SD cards, only 16gig storage, locked bootloader, vz bloat, metered plans, .....ect.

Doubt that will ever happen sadly. Would be ideal but HTC atm is VZW's B.

Just retired my Rezound for the DNA. The DNA is an awesome device. I really liked my Rezound but the battery life was terrible. The DNA battery life is leaps and bounds better. If not for the developers the Rezound would not have been half the device it turned out to be.

I love this idea so much.
Too bad I'm sure this isn't going to happen.
A rezound 2 with these specs wouldn't be bad .. But I think the name rezound is kinda lame.. Compared to incredible 4G and DNA

They can call it whatever they want, I just mean to emphasize that there has been no true successor to the Rezound as the VZW flagship HTC device. Every thing has been over compromised. The only real compromise the original rezound had was it was kinda heavy and a little thicker than most of it's competitors at launch. Not including ICS, was a small consideration, and all devices at that time where getting terrible battery life.

Except the razr Maxx. If moto unlocked that phone, and I didn't drop it three stories into a pool, I'd still be using it. 30 hours vs 10 is a big difference. Put an extended on this phone and it looks pretty comical to say the least. Chugs way too hard, you'd think LCD > amoled right?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, there isn't a phone out right now that makes me want to get rid of my Rezound. There all too big, or too sealed, or have AMOLED (or all three).
I'm somewhat attracted to what I've heard of the HTC M4 just because of the size factor.

Yep, if the M7 drops with at least 32 gb of storage and an unlockable bootloader I'll be all over it. It sounds like it'll have a better battery than the DNA with similar hardware and a more livable One X size screen.
