Rooted with bootstrap
GB 2.3.6
System version: 6.12.181.xt912.Verizon.en.US
I download the OTA over wifi, attempt to install, phone reboots and starts to install, but then the screen changes to the droid dude and an exclamation point, phone reboots again, and i'm back to GB 2.3.6 with a message saying the update failed.
what the heck am i doing wrong?
Being rooted with bootstrap. Flash to stock and try again.
do i flash a stock rom with bootstrap? or do i flash back with RSD Lite?
all the fastboot files are confusing to me...
Use Matt's DroidRAZRUtility 1.6 to flash back to stock.
Here are the instructions I used (second set, though I didn't need the Modified 1.6 utility): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692694

After upgrading to 2.3.4 and having a few issues with it, I wanted to get back down to the 1.83. However when I try flashing with RSD Lite, it fails. I have a CWM backup from right before upgrading to 2.3.4. Can I restore that with recovery mode or is there some other way I need to do it?
I attempted to fastboot flash my system.img from my CWM backup.
It flashes the system.img but the bootloader isn't the correct one for 1.83. Any suggestions? I would really like to get back to 1.83 until the retail OTA comes out.
I had the same problem earlier! What I basically did was go to the Firmware thread [here] and then downloaded the 1.8.3 full (it doesn't work with the service one) and flashed that sbf file through RSDLite and it went back to Froyo. You said it failed though, so maybe try an older/different sbf file?
Does it just fail to reboot when sbf flashing? Load to fastboot and type 'fastboot -w'

Ive been waiting for the 1.83 full to download but its taking forever. I tried the 1.26 but it fails after flashing some of the code groups. I think it almost makes it to 100%. But Idk. I'm gonna keep trying cause I'm having too many issues with GB right now.
Got it working.
Flash the full 1.83 SBF (flash says it fails but it actually finishes), flash unlocker SBF, root, install the old CWM recovery and restore CWM backup.
Hi, I just tried flashing Ken's 2.3.4 zip and I'm stuck in bootloop. I flashed from HKTW.
I need to know whats the safest thing to do to fix this..
I successfully flashed 1.8.3 after bootlooping from KEN'S 2.3.4, (NOT OFFICIAL ATT 2.3.4!!!), I'm currently re-unlocking/rooting and trying Ken's 2.3.4 again. Good luck!

I started over too, but I'm stuck at whats supposed to be a minor step. Tenfar's CWM is giving me more trouble than a prerequisite should. The thing that really aggravates me is that I've used it a couple of times before to flash HKTW and Navalynt's fixes.
I fastboot it to my phone ok, but I get the android and exclamation point when I try to flash Ken's 2.3.4. I know I have to delete the old install recovery file, but I can't find it on my phone.
It's very frustrating to reach the final step and get stuck because of minor b.s.
I had to remove /system/etc/install-recovery.sh and not install_recovery.sh
Another option that works, is immediately go into recovery after flashing cwm
Had the same problem bro, it turned out to be the CWM was out dated. Flash back to HKTW - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1139715
Then make sure your CWM is updated then you should to be able to install Ken's Rom.
I have a bad flash on my phone and I'm trying to find a file which I can flash through Clockwork Mod Recovery to see if I can fix it?
I'm currently on 2.3.6, the .181 version. When loading up, My phone has all kinds of processes being killed (Force close errors) until it eventually freezes.. I've tried matts razr utility and rsd lite, but every time i wipe and reflash, it does the same thing.
Anyone know of a CWM friendly file I can try and flash? I don't believe its bricked, but i can't figure out why the clean installs keep coming up corrupt with errors.
Appreciate any help.
I have a moto razr xt910 on rogers, unlocked, originally booted with the fido logo.. I've been using bootmenu manager to dual boot and try roms (mainly cm10) on 2nd system. I tried unsuccessfully to flash Wizzed bean rom in 1st sytem cause I didnt wanna lose my setup in 2nd system whcih was pretty good. I rebooted after it failed instead of staying in the bootmenu manager bootmenu and havent been able to get it back, just bootlooped for a while and tried to flash from recovery. Failing that, I got RSD lite and the rogers fastboot ICS file, but it returned an error in 6/21 "cdt.bin" phone returned "fail" or "failed". Online it seems that that using the motorola factory cable can often solve this problem, but unsurprisingly the one I tried to make didn't work. Do you think you could help me?
Thanks,
Me
I have just received a used droid razr (GSM)
I was following this guide to install the JB OTA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2078021
When i received the phone it appeared to already be rooted.
I've backed up the CID but after erasing the CID and flashing the boot_jb image my phone just goes into safestrap recovery ( i was not aware this was installed as i did not install it!)
I am now trying to revert to standard stock ICS so i can start again but RSDLITE is saying 'please check input file. eithe XML format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing'
SPDREM_U_01.6.7.2-180_SPU-19-TA-11.6_SIGNEuropeAustraliaEMEA_USASPDRICSRTGB_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml
So now im stuck with a phone that shows the CID error and all i can do is get into safestrap?

Try 5.6

I would recommend to try it with RSD 6.1.4 and extract the FW again.

many thanks for the reply.

One thing...If you wanna start from scratch to install the JB Leak on your Phone, use BMM 0.3.2 instead of 0.2.7. Set 2nd-init & insecure adb in Slot Settings and don't mount System & Data!
Just wipe and flash the Leak. With BMM 0.3.2 you don't have to boot with BPTools all the time (if 2nd-init is enabled) and you can easily flash the Kernel (ICS<>JB) straight in the Recovery

Many thanks for the help guys!
I've now managed to install the JB OTA and its booting so hopefully its ok now!
I've been away from the flashing scene since my galaxy S2 died and just got this razr for use in the car as a media/navigation device so some of the different processes/terms have thrown me a bit!
