Galaxy Nexus for TFP trade

I was wondering if anyone would trade their TFP for a galaxy nexus lte.. I was originally offered by someone else but when I displayed interest he decided not to do it.. I'm still willing to do the trade if someone wants to.. its a brand née nexus that's never been used.. I have 2 of them

GSM or LTE?
I dunno...something seems odd. I have both and I use each for different reasons. I'd keep the prime and wait for my contract to run out and get a next phone with the renewal dicount.
PS - Galaxy Nexus is now $100 with new contract.
No I have GummyNex and they want to trade their TFP to me.. I'm tempted I just don't know if its worth it.

So, you want to trade a 1.2 ghz dualcore, 720p ics 5 megapixel phone for a 1.6 ghz quadcore 720p/wxga 8 megapixel tablet. No makee sense here,

The galaxy nexus costs more at full price... so it actually does make sense. /fail
who cares about the cost that's not the point his statement is perfectly valid. There's many things that cost less then other products but still out do them. Plus I'm pretty sure the cost of making a prime is more then making a Gn. Retail is just different for both

crazy
I can get the galaxy nexus, brand new and sim free for £350 (from a high street shop) you wont find a transformer prime for that. Id swap in an instant if i had nexus
Sorry, it'll take more then a Nexus phone to get me to give up my Prime.

Well the offer is still out there.. the TFP is just the tabby I want so it doesn't matter the value of the phone.. if someone wants to do it please let me know

i have both and honestly if i had to choose one to keep it would be my nexus, it's FASTlike faster than my prime, including most web browsing, using same browser both with adaway but i still prefer the larger screen of the prime, the camera on the nexus out preforms my primes camera in most situations surprisingly, also the nexus is more expensive unlocked at least in the US, especially if you get the GSM version like i did, luckily i got it for about $150 from dailysteals. So i completely understand why the OP would want to get rid of his nexus for a prime but at the same time i would keep my nexus.
I would say speeds are comparable however in gaming the prime blows past nexus

PM'ed you.
You still looking for a Prime. I have one I'd be willing to trade ya.
This thread should be moved to the market place IMHO with a shadow, as there is a dedicated forum for buy/sell/trade, and already biters.

I'm talking about value. Not price. There is a reason I didn't put the costs there. Plus, it is hard to get a good unit so do you really want to trade and buy another and end up with a wifi borked unit? Suckit.jpg

Thinking of returning Prime and getting a TF101...

So I received my Transformer Prime today and am having wifi issues (very poor connection strength). Also, I have a group of very bright pixels on the screen.
I know there is a new Transformer tablet in the works that has significantly better specs...so I'd be best to wait. In the meantime, I found a mint TF101 with docking keyboard for $350. Everything checks out and it seems like a great package for the price. This coupled with ICS arriving in two weeks for the TF101 makes it a reasonable decision to return the defective Prime and get this original TF101 w/keyboard.
Is this a good move? I've never owned the original Transformer and hope that it is plenty fast to play flash content. Anyone care to offer a POV on this decision?
I plan on getting the newer Transformer in Q2 when it's rumored to release.

I have both and the OG TP is pretty damn laggy even with a 1.65 OC.
That + the random reboots and freezes makes in a no go for me.
I did it and am happy with my decision. Wifi is crazy strong and the device is plenty fast.
Wake me up when the new Transformer is released. The Prime isn't ready for prime time IMO.

Series of WiFi-related issues affecting the third-generation iPad

http://9to5mac.com/2012/04/04/apple...es-tells-applecare-to-replace-affected-units/
sounds familiar
How exactly does this help the problems persisting in many of the Transformer Primes? (Note my Wifi/BT is working perfectly)

cloud5 already beat you to it. this morning I think..lol. you do keep the news coming though. if you find any tegra4 updates, let me know
it doesn't sound all too familiar. Look at that rapid response. That's an internal Apple memo
It took how long for ASUS to acknowledge the Transformer Primes defects? all we got was a guy name Gary collecting info.
Lol...i love that the memo says "DO NOT DISCLOSE EXTERNALLY".
That tickles my fancy. The pic was taken with a galaxy nexus i believe LOOOOOOOOOOL

Wikipad 3d

I was browsing and came across this tablet:
http://mobile.theverge.com/2012/5/3/2995878/wikipad-3d-gaikai-cloud-gaming-announcement
It will have a quad core tegra 3 processor and ship with Android 4 and retail at a mere $250 with the gamepad. What I'm wondering is, could this be better than the prime, for like half the price? It does look quite promising and you can switch from 2d to 3d anytime, on any app.
I was set to get the transformer 300 but may this be superior?
Thoughts?
Sent from my R800i using XDA
The article doesn't mention that it will be $250. But it would be pretty cool is some third party manufacturer made something like this for the transformer prime.
If you view other articles, then I'm sure the price is meant to be $250. Unless they've changed their plans...

bump as I kinda need guidance on what to do, wait for this, or get the transformer?
Sent from my R800i using XDA
if you wait for the best thing there will always be something better just around the corner.
from what i read its a smaller screen and might not even be touchscreen, i dont know i didnt spend a lot of time reading about it... basically its a cheap android tablet that supports 3d and has a custom built gamepad dock.
The prime or 300 are more like premium built tablets that support a hell of a lot more than that gamepad, bigger screen, and a full keyboard dock, however slightly more expensive.
My quesitons for you are this:
Do you need a tablet right away
Will you be using it for games, videos, music, internet, etc.
Will a keyboard dock be benifitial to you
how often will you use the gamepad
will using a bluetooth controller (like a PS3 Controller) be an acceptable alternative
Basically, weigh out each benifit and downfall of each tablet and based on your own use determine which is the best fit for you. None of us can tell you which will be the best decision for you.

Thinking of buying a Transformer Prime

Hi guys , how y'all doing
I have a GALAXY Tab 10.1 , but I'm thinking of buying an ASUS Transformer Prime Tf201 , but I have concerns for the Wi-Fi issues is it solved ? Or not ? Please answer quickly
P.S : I can't buy the tf300 the TF201 is my only choice.
Thank you
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium HD app
Well, most of the wifi problem is because of the metal backplate. Compared to Padfone (which is plastic) it's about half strength on mine TFP.
It is solved on 300 or 700 with plastic backplate/antenna cover.

Oh okay , how do you get
wifi reception is the problem isn't sold yet?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium HD app
WiFi works, just less reception
WiFi works fine for me, I just find that I get lower reception compared to other devices. At home this isn't a problem as I get a good signal through the whole house.
Wifi issue is a manufacturing issue not a design issue. You might get one that works well but unless you are ready to return, return, return (within your in store return window of course. dont wait 6 months and hope to screw a store over) until you get one that is well built dont get a prime.
sorry but how about tf700?
The problem the only transformer available is the tf201 plus I can get it with the keyboard dock for a pretty good price .
If the pad 300 or the pad infinity are available I would bought them .
If there is a special way beside the tearing it I would be appreciative

I have to say I am very disappointed in the prime. And I have two powerful Asus laptops that I love but this is just a slow buggy tablet.

Can be good
I've been pleased with my Prime, and the dock takes it up to a whole different level compared to other tablets. Apparently there's been some variability in manufacturing, though. So if you can buy it and have the option to return, I'd suggest going for it. If it works, in my experience it works well. Not quite a laptop replacement, but very close, say 90%. And at least 300% of the battery life.
I wouldn't be buy, I have mine since January and it's camera doesn't work and another apps.... Try the Galaxy Note 10, is a quad-core with 2gb of RAM

I've had the eand I thought it was a wonderful tablet. I really didn't care for the GPS but wifibwas always weak and the ANR finally got to me. I've since swapped it for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and what a Difference! The note is what a tablet should be and finding it super useful with the pen too. Best of all wifi is good, GPS works, and never an ANR. Runs much much faster. To me its a no question option to go with the Samsung Note after having used both devices.

Tried the note 10.1 last day, placed the brightness bar to full, not that bad, but i guess eventually it gets disappointing....

Forget it. With all the issues owners have, getting a Prime at this point would be stupid. Personally, I wish I waited for the TF700. For now, please...just wait for the other models to become available.
I just got a used prime and love it. GPS need that dongle but other than that..which is no big deal for me I really like it.
I thought about the note since I like most samsung products but the fact that we got a tegra powered Nexus 7 made me want to own a tegra device.
Sent from the Mighty Note International!
$150 max. You will not have warranty left, the camera is likely to break, wifi is weak, gps is non-existant (can't charge with the dongle), cust support lacks,....
Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using Tapatalk 2
So when I just want to use the prime inside my or my friends house, don't need gps and definitely want to root and customize it the idea to get one cheap isn't that bad right?
Would like to switch from my netbook to a cheap tab and need the option of a good keyboard to attach.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
The TF201 is not a tablet, its an electronic project kit. If that doesn't sound like fun don't buy one.
