Greetings
I have bought a sim free galaxy s2 5 days back . I am in japan.
From day one I have been facing strange problem. If my 3g disconnects for some
Reason such as going into elevator or traveling in underground,
It doesn't come back. I have to reset my use data package network settings or
Turn on the flight mode and turn it of f again to get connection back.
My apn settings are as per my carrier has suggested.
Because of this issue the phone become almost useless while traveling
Or while going up and down in my office building.
I haven't rooted it yet. Is this firmware problem or hardware.
Please help

Some people including myself are having connection issues when gsm/wcdma auto mode is selected...phone is stable when gsm only is selected..after comparing with 2 other phones,i can confirm this behaviour dosent happen on their phone..and i have to sadly say something is wrong with my phone..why dont you do a little experiment..try selecting gsm only mode and see if your connection is stable..maybe you are having a defective phone like some of us here...untill today i cant figure out if its a hardware fault or some weird software glitch.

In japan currently wcdma is used. After disconnecting
I can only see upward arrow all the time until I reset data network.
This is bugging me big time now

Many people including me are having this exact same problem. I am suspecting the modem software, and hoping it will be fixed soon. But please note I also held hope for almost a year that GPS glitches in the first galaxy were fixable with software, and now we all now it wasn't.
I'm having the EXACT same problem! Out of nowhere my 3G connection is 'lost?' and I only see an upward green arrow.. i have to reboot to get this right.. but after a short while.. same problem again!
I live in The Netherlands... I wonder what the problem could be, but even better! THE SOLUTION!!
Resolved!!!!!!!!
@mmichaell I got a great news for you. I could resolve this buggy thing.
Just dial *#*#9900#*#* this will open a pop-up
from which select Disable fast dormancy....and bangggggg the issue is gone..

Hi All-
Pre-TL;DR: Got rooted S4. NOT USING A DLINK ROUTER. All wifi networks disappear and reappear 'randomly'.
So I got my S4 from Verizon on Friday the 24th. I set it up and went on my way. About two days after I got it I noticed 'slow' download while on the wifi. Didn't matter what I was doing; google play, downloading a game's extra data, or even just sitting there doing nothing. As I looked into it I found that my wifi connection was dropping. I'm not talking about disconnect and reconnect, but wifi in general would drop. I verified this while sitting in my living room. I live in an apartment and there are a lot of neighbors with wifi. While looking at the available wifi networks I noticed every few seconds ALL of the available networks would disappear (showing only my saved networks). I used a wifi analyzer and changed my wifi channel to an unused channel, checked for firmware updates (both router and phone), but nothing changed. On Tuesday I started work after the holidays and decided to test the wifi on my companies guest wifi. I was seeing the same stuff happening at work. I don't think it's my router(s) because all wifi goes away, not just the specific wireless network. I have the stock S4 that has been rooted using open1your1eyes0's guide
[GUIDE] Root for Verizon Galaxy S4 ***Updated 5/27 - 2:30 AM***, however I noticed this before I rooted it. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm about to take it to Verizon on Thursday.
Phone: Galaxy S4
Carrier: Verizon
Model: SCH-I545
Android: 4.2.2
Kernel: 3.4.0-562219
I experienced this problem on Saturday when I got the phone-Called Verizon and was transferred to Samsung-they told me this is a known issue in the phone and it will require an antenna swap to fix. Apparently they have fixed the phones they are manufacturing now, however the ones which were initially released all have this problem.
Vzw has been no help at all in resolving this, and pretty much have told me "too bad, so sad". Really crappy of them.

Nghthawk and Fleury, I was so happy to see your posts!!! So it's not just a firmware issue!!!
I have a non-rooted S4 and have the same experience. I was with T-Mobile for a week before I transferred to Verizon and had the exact issue there. (I have a co-worker who has a Sprint S4 that doesn't have this problem.) I have this issue both on my home router (Linksys) and at work (Motorola). Previously, I had an S2 and never saw this issue once, neither at home nor at work. I also spoke to Verizon who told me to talk to Samsung. Samsung (via email) has had me try all kinds of crazy manual WiFi settings - none of which work - or are at all practical...
I'm still within my first 14 days of signing with Verizon, so I can still jump ship to get rid of this phone. I'd really rather not spend another __ hours setting up another one, though.
Perhaps you could help me with a bunch of questions I have - please... I really need help with this...
1. Who told you that the antenna needs to be replaced - Samsung or Verizon?
2. Is that documented somewhere that you know of?
3. Is either Verizon or Samsung going to cover the antenna swap?
4. Who / when is supposed to do that for you?
5. What do you suggest I do in my situation (e.g. being within the first 14 days)?
6. If it's an antenna issue, would that affect voice calls (quality / dropping), as well?
Thanks so much!
Eliezer
I will try to answer your questions as best as I can...
1. Who told you that the antenna needs to be replaced - Samsung or Verizon?-Samsung repair rep
2. Is that documented somewhere that you know of?-I'm sure Samsung has it in writing, Verizon is still in denial-having talked to their executive offices today-to which they are clueless and a waste of time
3. Is either Verizon or Samsung going to cover the antenna swap? Yes!
4. Who / when is supposed to do that for you? Samsung told me to send it now, however I am traveling and can't do that at the moment
5. What do you suggest I do in my situation (e.g. being within the first 14 days)? I would keep the phone, they will get it fixed, they don't really have a choice, approx sales are around 80 million units-they can't just ignore it-plus we are going to be the first to get aws spectrum...
6. If it's an antenna issue, would that affect voice calls (quality / dropping), as well? I have no problems with call quality, in fact, it is far better than my Galaxy Nexus which I traded in to get this. I have had 4G also act up to where it just freezes and fails to deliver internet, even though I will show 3-4 bars as well as the 4G lit up....So I believe it seems to only effect data.

It would be useful for those of us still on the sidelines if we can determine if we are getting a fixed version or one with this problem still.
This is one of the reasons I didn't jump in yet - to wait out any early production issues. Well, and still hoping for a 32 or 64gb version.
Interesting. I have a lot of the same issues. My WiFi is so bad I can't see any other WiFi networks on my device from my house where my other devices see 5 to 6. If I go into my daughters room my WiFi pretty much drops completely every time.
I just got off the phone with Samsung tier two / advanced tech support. He told me that my phone was manufactured May 15th... If a two week old phone has the problem, I cannot imagine the "new" ones don't also... He said they have no known issues submitted by Verizon for WiFi connectivity of the S4. Due the fact that it can connect to WiFi, he didn't think it sounded like a hardware issue. He suggested testing by taking the password off my router and seeing how it holds the signal. He said if it was able to maintain a connection like that, it must either be the router firmware or phone software issue.
Verizon said they could swap it with a new one for me - but there's no guarantee (or reason to think) that the same thing won't happen with that new one. And the option of sending it to Samsung and not having it for 11-12 business days isn't very appealing, either...
Not so happy about this...
Eliezer
you do know that the WiFi isse with DLink routers (DIR-655 and DIR-855) is not restricted to only those routers right? It does exist with other brand routers from whats been written about it.
Point being i have a DIR-655 router and had the connect drop connect drop issue and all I did was uncheck the WMM option and rebooted my router and its rock solid. WMM is kind of pointless, 95% of ppl can't even see a difference using it. I don't even think any of the public access points i've run into even have that enabled either.
If it's just your home wifi your having an issue with, turn off WMM in the router settings if you haven't already
Any updates about this? I'm experiencing wifi issues with my S4 where the signal I get on wifi is just horrible. Finally went into work today where we have an open wifi network on the entire campus, and I can't even get 2 bars of wifi from my desk, where my Galaxy Nexus would get 4. When it does connect, it's horribly slow. This has got to be a hardware issue. I may bring it back to Verizon, but I'm wondering if they will even believe me and swap the device.
Well, since I originally posted on this thread - and had commented that I saw this issue on both Verizon and T-Mobile - using both Motorola and Linksys routers --- I've switched to AT&T. I got one of their S4s and have had rock-solid WiFi connectivity with those same two routers ever since...
Not sure what to say...
I experienced my WiFi dropping like that once... how ever.. never again... really weird.. I have better Wifi then I did on my last phone.

Which carrier are you on?
Just compared to my friend's S4. With the two S4's sitting next to each other on my desk, he gets 4 bars of wifi at -46 dbm in Network Signal Info. I get 1 bar, and -88dbm! I walked directly the nearest ceiling mounted access point and my signal went up to -71dbm while he went to -40. So yea I definitely have some issues.

Not from what I can tell. I can edit the post, but I think a mod has to edit the title.
Update tho to my op:
After a factory reset and a re-root I noticed that this issue had stopped. It happened one more time after that, however, after a reboot it was fine again. I have yet to run into the problem again. This leads me to believe that there is a software issue (would also make sense why only Verizon phones seem to be affected) and not a hardware issue. I heard that google is going to release a 'clean' version of the S4 rom when they launch their carrier-less S4. I may just wait till that phone is released and flash that and see what happens.
I'm flashing mine to stock and doing a factory reset right now. Hoping it fixes the issue for now.

I wanted to add my own experience. I have a Verizon Galaxy S4 -- SCH-I545. I managed to fix the disconnection problem by using a static IP address on the phone side since the work router serves up the same one to my device every time, so I'm not causing collisions (and I don't have control of the router at work). I was getting 'failed to get IP address' messages when the connection dropped. See here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42172004&postcount=29
However, reading other posts about the antenna issue, I'm starting to think that it might just be that. I'm about 20 feet equidistant from 2 wireless routers at work, and using the *#197328640 hidden menu, then Menu button, then WiFi, my RSSI goes from -68 to -74 and goes up to about -52 to -55 when I'm about 3 feet from the AP I'm associated with. Does that seem low? According to what I've googled it seems like it is low...
---
And to think I was about to give up on contacting Samsung because they refused to acknowledge my Bluetooth issue here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2304828
With the BT issue I've done extensive troubleshooting and pretty sure it's not a software issue (at least not other apk's interfering) but possibly the bluetooth implementation or drivers itself.
:sigh: Now I'm going to have to test with the other S4 to see I get the same WiFi signal strength, at least at home, anyway.
So update for me, took mine to Verizon and they swapped it out. This one gets a great wifi signal.

Judging by your earlier numbers mine is fine. I compared it to an S3 and another Verizon S4 and both have about the same RSSI +/ 5 of each other at the same point at home... so the issue I'm facing is probably just related to the router at work I have no control over.
I have noticed a good amount of threads popping up with people talking about signal issues, 3g/4g issues, connection issues or phone issues.
I was wondering if we could find out what the common factor here was and what fixes everyone has been using. I know that some people got new sim cars, problem solved. Some people restored to a full stock image via odin, problem solved. Reflashing the stock radio, problem solved.
So has anyone had any other solutions, issues or any other info regarding signal issues or anything relating to that?
Been through this with the Nexus, S3 and S4
The solution is to buy a Motorola RAZR or iphone.
Things that do not work -
Upgrading to the newest version of Android
Updating the Radio
Changing it to CDMA only
Lifting one leg up, putting one hand on your head and pointing your other hand due north
Attaching a sticker antenna to the back
Using some custom baked firmware
Reading posts from people who claimed they've solved the problem.
Using Bluetooth
Not using Bluetooth
Buying a special case
You can get a femtocell repeater if you are in an office or home where you get little reception but it won't help you on the road or just visiting a friend unless you want to set it up every place you are stationary.
In the end trying to fix the radio design flaw with a firmware update is about as useful as trying to fix a shattered TV screen by adjusting the brightness setting. If you read the radio issues on the Verizon Nexus and the Verizon S3 there are a lot of people claiming they solved it but in the end it still sucks.
I have zero issues with data on my s4 I'm on the east coast running clean rom 1.6.5 solid LTE everywhere..

Unfortunately this is very true, every other VZW Non-Samsung phone I've had hasn't exhibited this issue.
Motorola and Apple have had their share of radio/antenna issues as well.

I'm not really talking about comparing the signals to the iPhone or anything. I'm talking about finding a common denominator for the group of people that are suffering from signal, connectivity or phone loss on the s4.

Trying to tie it all together with a common denominator is a logical fallacy. It would be akin to trying to find a common denominator for everyone in the world that has a chronic cough. The causal factor varies from case to case.

The common denominator is we are on Verizon and have Samsung phones. If you want to go further, you could do a subset intersect and see we have the S4 on Verizon. It's like saying what is a common denominator for those people who have safety issues with the Chevy Corvair. It is a design flaw that only could be fixed by replacing the phone with a different model. Trust me, I went down this path with the Nexus and the S3 - magical firmware updates were dangled by fanboys saying they would come and fix the issue but the firmware updates came but they never fixed the issue.
If you want better signal, you could buy a different phone or get a femtocell repeater. TRUST me, I would love a magic bullet to fix the issue but there isn't one. On the plus side you'll get a ton of helpful posts from people saying they never have issues or you must be doing something wrong.
I dont know what is up with all ur phones, but my signal is much better than my old Galaxy Nexus/RAZR M. I am getting 2-3 more bars of 4G at work. At home it use to be only 3G, but now im getting at least 2 bars of 4G. I don't even turn on my WiFi anymore at home or work.
bars dont really mean much...
i have had some odd issues where i will be in home depot or grocery store trying to look something up and it will fail; market doesnt work, browser doesnt work. phone calls and texts (over gvoice so data) wont work.
the razM i had before this was solid. my GF still has the razrM and we were at grocery store other day and if you went the their app there was a coupon to add and the s4 was refusing all data again.
i had similar issues with an old HTC Dinc2 and it was then i started using an app "restart connections" to get data back but it doesnt fix the issue on the s4 i have. if i reboot the phone data comes back.
i have also twice now went to use gmaps and it it attempts to look up an address for 3-5 min and i finally restart the phone and go back in and find the address ASAP after reboot.
something funky is going on and i havent taken the time to try and look at syslogs yet...
i am running the stock MDK rom (rooted) on VZW
reception is odd

I'm in a difficult reception area in the middle of manhattan. Funny thing is that I almost always have 4G - even in my house. At the same time, I never have more than two bars of signal in my house. I have occasionally had trouble making calls (I think the tower I'm reaching is too busy), but once connected, no one has complained and dropped calls are rare.
I don't understand this and don't know whether to complain or not because although there are almost no bars, there is reception that is pretty good. So I've left well enough alone.
This phone gets decent reception for me. Dropping from 4g to 3g is new for me after coming from an htc rezound though. My rez NEVER dropped 4g in my city anywhere. Guess radios is the one thing htc can do right. My s4 drops to 3g in multiple areas sometimes. Hopefully Samsung keeps getting better with their radios and they'll have me as a customer for more years of they do

This is basically the same issue I have. Only a reboot/data toggle won't fix it. I had two bars(not that it means much, I didn't look at the db) and it kept saying it was communicating with the tower via the green/red up/down indicators, but I couldn't access any data services. I moved my car approximately 500 yards to the south and viola, data again. I don't get why I could make a call, but I couldn't access data.
That being said, it's still better than my Gnex for....well...everything. But I would say worse than my Rezound, Bionic.
i ended up flashing the modem with the ME7 version, while keeping the rest of the ROM on the original MDK. that was about amonth ago and i think ive only had to reboot 1-2 times because of data drop.
I checked many forums on web and see a lot of people complaining about bad reception, call drops etc. on Galaxy s6 Edge
Also here there is 2 topic opened by members .I wrote one of them but no one gave me even a clue
My network signal really sucks, especially while on wcdma/3g mod. So one of post on web says Samsung had changed their anttenna system thats why. Some of says its about modem part.
Most of post wroten about in May and June so whats happened to this issue. How did you solve? Or what is the problem is it software or hardware related.
Thanks
I have a new 925F on T-Mobile in the US and I have also noticed this issue. Signal strength is much worse than on my prior device (HTC One M7). I have been toying with flashing the T-Mobile modem on my device and seeing what happens, but am afraid of what might happen...don't need a shiny new brick. I have tried several different ROMs, including the one from the T-Mobile sub-forum that is no longer being supported with the same results.
Anyone have any ideas, or know what would happen if I flashed the 925T modem on my 925F device?
like i said there is to possiblty causing this issue. Samsungs new antenna system or hardware problem.People were complaining about it a few months ago and ı am curious what happened their device or they used to live with it?
Have to say have the same experience... I actually carry an iphone 6 (for business reasons) as well - same network (AT&T), and without exception:
- the iphone has better reception in the same location (more bars, faster internet, more reliable internet)
- the iphone connects faster when the plane lands (and I fly alot)
- the iphone keeps reception in places where the S6 loses it
Frustrating, as I'm the opposite of an iphone fanboy, and using the phones next to each other shows me Samsung needs to do more work in this area!
The only reliable solution to SLIGHTLY improve things is to restart the phone a LOT
I have had to switch to 2g/3g only because my S6 edge has little or no signal on 4g and it uses about 3% per hour of battery on standby. I also have an iPhone 6 and both are on the same network(EE in the UK) and I never see anything under half bars on 4g but most of the time it is full bars. I have had the phone replaced and had two sim swaps but it is still no better.
The camera on the S6 is fantastic but the rest of the phone is a lagging stuttering piece of sh!t. I sold my Note 4 and Moto X 2014 a few weeks ago in preparation for the Note 5 but it is not sold in Europe. On the bright side the S6 is better than the G4 I tried for a few weeks.
today i went to service to ask replace the device, explained my issues after one hour they told me the problem solved by flashing new firmware i am sure the problem persist because i had newest firmware and flashed it before. So we have to live with it i guess its not a problem for them .
i have noticed that only Edge users complaining about it and not sure but i guess i read antenna is short on Edge.
I received my new XA Ultra from Amazon yesterday. Popped in my SIM and started setting it up. It had two software updates out of the box, so I applied them, then started installing apps. I noticed that my cell connectivity would completely drop (no bars), then come back. When I checked in the Access Point settings, the option to discover carriers would appear, then disappear.
I assumed it was some kind of software corruption, so I factory reset, but it continued doing it. I also tried pulling the sim out and putting it back in several times. I can only assume that I somehow got a defective unit or that one of the software updates applied the radio incorrectly. I processed a return with Amazon and have a replacement coming later this week.
I hope Amazon doesn't turn around and resell it through warehouse deals. I have received a few devices from them that they clearly didn't test and I was very explicit in my comments for the return. I'm just hoping that my replacement doesn't exhibit the same issues because I'm not sure what else it could be. It's not my SIM. All of my other phones stay connected to AT&T just fine in the same spot.

Did you check before purchasing that it would connect to I'm guessing by AT&T US network's I know yours are different to ours in the UK. I've not had any problems with my normal xa but I'm in the UK

It's definitely fully compatible. It even downloads the correct APNs, but then they just disappear and the signal drops completely. I get full LTE speeds when it's working and nothing when it's not. I also tested a T-Mobile SIM and, while it holds onto the signal longer, it does the same thing (drops completely).
I plugged the phone into a computer and did a complete software restore, which didn't fix the issue. At this point, I'm sure it's either hardware or a really bad ROM update. I'm hoping it's hardware, because if not, that means that the replacement will have the same issue after applying the software updates to it.
This is my second Sony xa ultra with the same issue here's what happened
Purchases from best buy didn't setup until I got home had 2 update applied them signal drop and reset constantly I figured it was because I have bad reception in my area but the more I looked at the phone I noticed the build quality on the metal bumper wasn't sealed in some areas so I grabbed the packaging and headed back to Best Buy keeping note of the signal issues as I drove there (disconnected from WiFi of course) I noticed the signal did not drop connection at all on the way to Best Buy return the phone and explain to him the issues that I had at home with the signal and also wasn't happy with the build quality defect so I returned it and exchange for another one immediately popped the Sim in it downloaded my APN and I had LTE drove home no drop issues connected to wifi installed the two updates then I drop issue return

The replacement model I received from Amazon did it as well. Right out of the box, before updates, it was dropping the signal. Are you on AT&T?
I watched it really closely. I think I know what's happening. It's not falling back to HSPA. When the LTE is too weak, it simply drops completely until it can reconnect to LTE. If you set it to HSPA only in the mobile networks menu, you will never lose your signal. I tested it with both T-Mobile and AT&T with the same results.
This is a pretty major defect.
You might be on to something, yes I'm also on AT&T.. but I can't find HSPA in mobile network should it be GSM only or LTE (preferred)

It should be something like "GSM/WCDMA Auto" or "WCDMA only". Basically anything without LTE (except CDMA).
I'm honestly just glad to finally have someone else confirm. The chances of having two defective units in a row are extremely slim. Really liked the device otherwise, too, especially for the price.
I tested it for hours. I never got a disconnect on HSPA when I had that set. I just wasn't willing to live with that restriction.
Me as well!! phone is perfect for the price I paid out of pocket I had a BB gift card. I've been shopping for the right phone for a month now I've had about 5 phone from 700 to 200 bucks the expensive ones we're worth the price and the cheaper ones didn't feed my power craving I'm pretty happy with this one for the moment, thanks for the tip
This may be an AT&T SIM related issue.
I have T-Mobile and with my T-Mobile SIM I have no problems. I tried my friend's AT&T SIM, downloaded the APN, rebooted, and sure enough signal drops just like you're experiencing.
I'm having the same exact issue as previous posts with my Ultra. I purchased the unit from best buy the day it came out and using it on AT&T. I love the phone but the issue with completely losing connectivity is a bit annoying. Called customer service and they gave me the same website to fix software issues. Just curious as to why I'll be in same location without movement and then all of a sudden lose my signal.
I have the same problem using cricket wireless which is using att's network, lte signal comes and goes, this is becoming really annoying, is there a fix for this already, or should i return the phone
So I just got off the phone with Sony and they said I would have to send in the phone for repair leaving me with no phone. I've had issues before with phones and the companies just send you a new unit with a box and return label to send back defective unit. The rep said maybe my provider would give me a loaner phone.... Smh Looks like it might be time to leave Sony. Maybe I'll have better luck with the Lenovo Phab Pro 2 coming out next month.
Same issue here, right out of the box today.... Using AT&T reseller and I would have to agree that it is an issue as was mentioned earlier where the phone is somehow not able to fall back on to HSPA on a weak LTE connection so it just completely disconnects. Strange thing is where I am using it (at my desk in my office) I never had an issue of LTE dropping off with other brands of phones. As soon as I left the cell area and started using it at home or at another location further away I had no dropped LTE signals. I think Sony support will be useless unless we can somehow get past the standard support desk. They told me they have no higher support I can be directed to, that I would either just do a software repair (which I assumed correctly would not work) or send it in to service. Not sure what I am going to do at this point, cannot have my phone jumping out of service every 2 minutes during the work day. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
EDIT: upon further review (using LTE discovery App) it appears that "some" At&t sites are having issues staying connected with LTE band 17 on this phone. I drove up to one of the sites the phone has issues with. It had a solid, strong signal within 1 block of the tower and band 17 still disconnected the radio completely. As soon as it reset and moved to band 4 it stayed on without disconnecting until I moved away from the site far enough for band 17 to kick back in. At that point it continued to disconnect every 1 -2 minutes until I moved the phone mode into HSPA preferred. I don't know what to say about this, band 17 works great on 2 towers within 10 miles of here, but some others and this tower causes the phone to go into a fit. Clearly the phone has LTE issues as any other ATT LTE phone on band 17 I have used in this area has always worked just fine. Anybody have an opinion on this???
I have what I think is the issue, now if we have any way to get this information to anyone who can actually do something about it. I have 2 sites by my home that the phone works flawlessly on LTE... no dropped LTE signal whatsoever. Here is the difference... they are band 17 ONLY sites where the sites my phone is unable to hold a LTE signal when the At&T site is broadcasting both band 4 and 17. That would explain why the rest of the sites around where I work do not maintain a signal either. We need to all contact Sony support and somehow get this information thru to them. The issue is the phone clearly being unable to handle a site broadcasting 4 and 17 which I think is a majority of them.

It's still not falling back in HSPA like it should. If it has difficulty with an LTE connection, it should not drop connectivity completely.

Agreed, but keep in mind that my XE ultra was 1 block from the tower with incredible LTE signal strength and it still completely shut the radio down and restarted. This is not for lack of signal but a complete inability for it to handle a band 17,4 tower. Although it would be great if it just moved into HSPA, that would mean your phone would be in HSPA 80% of the time, even when the LTE signal was completely adequate for the area. This clearly is a defect that makes the phone basically unusable (as it continually shuts the radio on and off) until Sony can figure this out. My concern... there is no way to talk to anyone at Sony that can do anything about this until they get enough support complaints directly related to this issue, this could take months not including the time they need to program an update and fix. Very frustrating.

Frustrated with this as well, hopefully sony fixes this problem more sooner than later
Received an update yesterday and I can't confirm 100% but it appears I haven't had as bad connection (popping in and out). I'm in Houston btw.
I got the update and so far phone has been working fine
The latest updates from sony fixed this issue.. so happy and enjoying it now
