Hi, I just bought a HTC Raider - from Bell Mobility (Canada) and I need to revert it back to the stock firmware, currently on Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.2.1
I have no idea where to even start, I have read a bunch of "walkthroughs" on this forum but most of it was lost on me, ie. no idea what rooted is, or kernal is; so thinking it maybe easier just to ask for help.
I have managed to find the stock firmware here hopefully someone will be able to walk me through, or show me which guide to follow (I have read a few guides and none of them seem to have a similar processes)
Thanks in advance

Hi, I followed the instructions on this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=553534
Hello!
I have recently bought HTC Desire HD, branded with T-Mobile logo on startup and bloatware, but otherwise unlocked (no sim-lock, no network lock), and I did a terrible mistake and updated it from 2.1 I think, to 2.2 and then to 2.3, software number 2.37. Now I want to root it and install custom rom and I realize that it will be much more complicated since I now need to create a goldcard and then downgrade. I read all the threads about downgrading and temp-root and goldcards and I'm asking, if anyone can help me out here by just being online on Skype when I'm doing this, because there will be questions and something can always go wrong and I don't want to wait hours or days for somebody to just tell me "your question has already been answered, use the search option". So if anyone who has already rooted a phone, preferably several times, preferably a branded phone and with 2.37 software, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm not a newbie in computers, also used to work on web design and I'm currently a photographer residing in Tallinn, Estonia, so nice to meet you fellow XDA member who is willing to help me out. I can donate some money, if everything goes well, that is not a problem at all.
rooted and flashed CM7 nightly, thanks to HTC Inspire/DHD Hack Kit V12.3 and fellow friends here on XDA!
i need someone to help me out. im new to android. although im not a newbie in the sense that i have some technical savvy to pull this off with the proper guidance, im just new to android and rooting in general.
i cant seem to find the information i need in one location and without bricking my phone. So if anyone can answer these question for me.
1. i have an att variant One X, can i root it? firmware 2.2
2. can i install Cyanogen10 with jellybean 4.2.
3. can i revert back if i dont like or it ATT gets off their behind and releases JB for my phone.
4. is it fairly easy to root?
5. how? i cant seem to find a definitive guide.
TIA.

Hi all,
I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII which is on 3UK and I'm finding it quite slow and I'd like to start with getting rid of all the software I really do not want which comes bundled with the operator software, there is tons of it!
As I can't uninstall any of it, I understand that my options are to live with it, or root it.
I'm afraid I have no idea about rooting at all and wouldnt really no where to start. So... where do I start? I do not really need the phone to do anything fancy I just want the bare bones so that I can install what I want on it, not what someone else wants me to have on it.
Can I load the Samsung firmware onto it with no additional apps? This would be my ideal solution... Failing that, I guess i'll have to root it, but I also understand that I have to choose a ROM...
Can anyone point me in the right direction of a good basic tutorial to get me started on this?
Thanks in advance!
You just have to Flash an unbranded rom I guess..then full wipe and you are golden
.Check the thread with the polish 4.1.2 rom

Hi Gavin, rooting is always a good option as it enables you to begin to exploit the potential of your device....however it is not necessary to do what you are suggesting.
The latest unbranded UK rom XXELL4 and the information you require is all in Faryaab's thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25922191&postcount=1
You can flash the stock rom using Odin software which is also available in the same post.
If you wish to root there are also other pre-rooted roms available to flash via Odin elsewhere in this general section. The key is that the latest UK unbranded rom is, as I say XXELL4
Hi, thanks for that clarification, just the info I needed!
Alright, ladies and gentleman, I have an issue that most of you will know way better then me how to fix because I have not a clue.
I have a Verizon Galaxy S3 that I would like to use a local SIM card in for international use, however I have run into the issue of it not being able to work and I'm told its because I need to upgrade Android. I'm running 4.0.4 and it is rooted. I guess I need the latest update... However I'm deployed to Afghanistan so using data is out, and the internet is very spotty. So my question would be, what is the best way to go about updating? and would that solve my issue? Also, will I have to unroot to upgrade, and how do I get root back?
You don't have an i9300, so nothing here can help you.
