Thank you for info

Sorry to say this but search is very usefull..
Its almost impossible to destroy the phone until you do very stupid things.
Try to hold power and volume up button until you feel vibrates.
If it does nothing use the same method until you feel three vibrates.

i have searched other threads before posting so i appologise if this has already been said in another thread that i have not found.
Anyway sometimes when i press my powerbutton to turn the screen on it it does nothing. sometimes if i keep hold of it for a secondd or 2 it works or sometimes i have to wait 10 seconds or so for my phone screen to turn on. or sometimes i press it and my screen comes on for a split second and then goes back off then i press it again it comes on haha
its not really a big deal but it sometimes gets annoying if you want to do something on my tg01 quickly and my tg01 power button is been slow to turn my screen on or just been a general arse
my power button is not sticky or anything and works fine and it does this on all roms i find. it doesnt happen all the time just a few times a day.
anyway if any one has any ideas id be more than happy to hear them thatnk you jonny

I'm afraid that this "problem" is not related with ROM. I have two and both have the same behaviour with different ROM. When it happens, a trick is push the camera button.
Hope this will help you....
ohh so its not just me then cheers for the tip and thanks for the quick reply
Hey guys my tab has been working great for weeks iv never dropped it or anything it charges brilliantly, its not rooted and it does not have a custom rom on it as i only use it for work today out of the blue it turned off and will not power on i connected it to the charger and nothing happens iv changed the charger and still nothing happens iv held the power button for 15 seconds plus and that didnt work and finally iv held the power button and touched the screen, still nothing worked

Thanks for your help matey
I don't know what's that lol. Sorry but I can't help you with it. Given that you're stock and unrooted, you might wanna send it to Samsung to fix it.

No worrys i think ill change the battery or something haha. Iv got no warranty. A downliad jig forces your device in to download mode to be used with Odin lol
If you find anything else let me know matey i appreciate your help
All depends on what the "deadness " is......
Could be dead dead, or could be screen dead in which case stuff is happening but you can't see anything happening.
If you have already had device connected to a computer that has the appropriate drivers installed (talking windows here) open device manager on the computer then connect the tab and see what, if anything happens and might be detected... That would show tab is working but you cannot see it... If nothing happens immediately once it's plugged in, take a fairly long press on power button and see if anything is detected then. A long press on power button (15 sec+) would put tab in apx mode which actually shows nothing on screen but again device manager would show it (this is used for nv flash). At least this way you'll know if it's dead dead or "just" something else...
Btw eushaun99 is a great and helpful dude here and has my respect but I think he gave you a bum steer via a typo with his button pressing...I think he meant press power button and volume down for boatloader, not "power and power" as he wrote, so that is worth a try also... Am I ok with that eushaun99?

Thanks, you are also a very helpful person on the Q&A section and definitely have my respect as well. Unfortunately, I can't help this guy so it would be very kind of you to take over from here.
You're right, its volume down, not power down. Oops

I have same issue too. My GT7500 starts only if I warm it till >45°C using a hairdryer or putting it under the sun (here in Italy very hot). But it's only for a normal boot, not in case of reboot when it goes all fine.

That sounds to me like the battery is tired, very tired and needs some help to produce current required, or a faulty connection somewhere. Once the tab is running the whole unit would tend to self heat so will reboot ok. Most fails are the opposite and are heating faults which is why someone came up with freezing sprays to track down which circuit comes back to life when cooled. Have you noticed any reduction of time that battery lasts between charges ?
Ciao

No, it didn't change. This thing lasts since november and it's very annoying 'cause I have to pay much attention to not shut my tab off, elseway I have to get the hairdryer again and so on...

What does it do/not do when it doesn't start? Blank screen? Nothing? Bootloop? Freezes?
sent from my still superb Google I/O 7510 (xda hd)
Nothing at all. I keep the power button while warming the tab and when it decides it's enough it starts with the normal boot screen (samsung galaxy tab etc.)

Brilliant!! That's a far quicker way than normal where people drain the battery by taping down the power button to drain battery to achieve reset.... :highfive:

[Q] Please help! Stuck in Bootloop, power button "stuck", no download mode!!
I believe this has to do with the phone thinking the power button is constantly being pressed...
I'm looking for any advice. My s3 suddenly went into a boot loop this morning. It powers on for a few seconds and turns itself back off.. Doing a little research, came across similar issues online caused by the main board going faulty and the phone thinking the power button is constantly being held down.
I know this because I can remove my battery, put it back in, and without even touching any buttons, the phone will attempt to power up.
I'm currently rooted and can't get into download mode for more than 3-5 seconds before it turns itself off. I was only once able to apply the perfect pressure by squeezing the side of the phone which allowed it to boot normally, but about 30 seconds later, the power menu appeared by itself and it turned off a few seconds later.
Has this happened to anyone else?? Anybody know how to go about fixing it??

When you take out the battery, wait for a few seconds before putting it back in. If it turns on automatically then this might be hardware issue and needs repair.
Yes,it turns on automatically...i have disassembled the phone and checked the power buttom and it seems to work right,i can't understand where is the problem
Edit. OK,the problem is that the power buttom is hyper sensitive..can i do something to reduce the sensibility?

Replace the power button, it is worn out.

I am having the same problem and just saw this thread. Thanks.
Is the power button known for wearing out on the phone? I take good care of my s3 afaik. Maybe it's time for a new phone.... =(

Happens from time to time. Maybe if it dropped or been pressed too many times.
Hi brainstrust,
Big fan of the site, long time reader, first time poster.
In early May I purchased my H860. It's worked very well for me since then, the only gripe being a lack of rootability. I figured the silver lining to this would be that it would be more difficult to mess up something important and cause the phone to brick. Unfortunately, that hasn't proven to be the case.
Last night, I attempted to unlock my phone. It wouldn't respond to either touching or pressing the fingerprint sensor / power button. I hadn't been doing anything with it earlier that night, it had probably been sitting on a bench for an hour or so idle. Assuming that the batteries were flat, I plugged it in to charge. It immediately showed the "LG Life's Good Powered by Android" splash screen, which stayed on for about 10 seconds. The screen then went blank for a second or two, and the splash screen came back again. This cycle repeated itself till the battery was pulled.
I have tried leaving the phone to charge overnight, assuming that perhaps the battery is so deeply discharged that it doesn't even have the juice necessary to turn on. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to charge the battery without the phone automatically turning on. It's unclear whether this is an issue with the phone's software or with the battery not charging. I have attempted various button combinations to get into recovery mode but I have been unable to do so. By holding the up volume button while plugging the phone into a PC I was able to get into download mode, but then the rebooting cycle began again after about 20 seconds.
I have the option of sending it back to my retailer however I will be without the phone for at least 2 weeks. If you guys have any ideas, I'd be very grateful to hear them.
Hi - enter Recover mode:
Press and hold Vol- and Power button. If you see the LG Logo you have to (fast) let go the Power button and (fast) press it again.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately instead of going into recovery mode, the phone continues with this rebooting cycle.
Then you pressed false or to slow.
Put your Batterie out of the Device and then in. After thats try it again.
(Sry for my english)

If you have the cam add-on you can charge the battery without the phone, obviously you have not. Doubt that is the problem though. What happens when you plug into pc

An empty battery appears with a circle in the middle, as if it's thinking about starting to charge, then the rebooting cycle starts. Same thing happens if I plug it into a power socket.
Try to boot into fastboot mode. In this Mode the Phone can charge.
When the device is OFF, press and hold two buttons, the Power button and Volume Upbutton in the same time for several seconds. In the same time, get the USB cable and use it to connect your device with your computer to create a connection. When you see Fastboot / Download Modemode is being displayed, then you can release those buttons.

Hi all,
Just thought I'd update the thread as the matter is now resolved. I gave up and sent the device back to the supplier, and they have diagnosed some kind of mainboard failure. I've had a refund processed and am back to using the Nexus 5. I'm hoping to upgrade to the new Nexus when it comes out.
Thanks for all your suggestions
This was definitely a hardware issue. The LG bootloop strikes again =(
Hello.
I get the Samsung Logo loop while I'm trying to turn on my smartphone. Phone was rooted several months ago. When i try to go to Download Mode it shows sign that I should press Volume Up or Volume Down but this screen disappears immediately and phone is trying to turn on again and shows Samsing Logo in loop. Is there anything I can do?
Sounds like the phone may have a stuck power button.
You could try to fix it by carefully removing the rear frame, cleaning around the power button with pure isopropyl alcohol, and then quickly pressing and releasing the power button using a bit more pressure than normal to see if that solves the problem.
By "stock" he means 'stuck'..
Yes, I meant to say "stuck", not "stock". My apologies.
Thanks for replies guys. I will do it in several days because i don't have time now. I will let know, thanks.
I cleaned it with alcohol and it helped. I have already ordered a new button. Thanks for help.
common problem, you can also carefully "bang" the power button to get it going again.
Yes, it works for now but I would like to have reserved button. Thanks for answers.
