I have been having an issue with dropped calls of late. Unfortunately, the more important the call, the more likely it is it will be dropped at the worst possible moment.
It seems like the call begins to degrade a bit and then blip, gone. I have an Airave and never had issues with my EVO 4G.
Any ideas?
Geesh, this is getting out of control. That is 4 dropped calls in an hour .
No problem here

I have different aftermarket radios in both cars. Phone is synced up to both. I can receive and make calls through both, but when trying to return a call just missed it will not go through the radio even though its still connected. Anyone else have similar issues?

I'm having serious problems with bluetooth. I can talk on it for sometimes five minutes, or sometimes 30 minutes, and I just lose connection even though it says its connected, I hear them in handset for maybe a free seconds then the phone hangs up. Getting really annoying. Same boat as you mainly.

Hey guys
I have a very strange sound distortion (not a regular one). Sometimes at a very random frequent, my phone produce this strange sound distortion its like an electric surge sound. It happens during calls as well as when playing media files. It just block the source sound from media files or voice from calls. Sometimes it goes by it self (it stays for some seconds) and sometimes I have to pull the battery to fix.
Things I noticed,, it happens on stock rom as well as cooked roms. My evo is GSM version bought from UK. I have a feeling that it happens from the network but im not sure
Any help would be appreciated
edit: It happens when I touch the screen, the sound distortion comes if I flip my finger left and right the distortion get stronger until there are no sounds at all.
edit2: It seems turning airplane mode on then off solve the problem for good period of time (phone been working good for more than 10 hours now without this problem occuring again, but I know it will come back :S )
come on guys

You're upset because people didn't respond to you for two hours in the ass hours of the morning?
But seriously, it sounds like poor grounding on a speaker or the touch screen or something. Might want to get a replacement. It'll probably get worse over time.
We have different time.
Anyway I found that turning airplane mode on solve it for a while.
I'm not sure what is it right now :S
Is it touch screen, radio, speaker or even stock kernel.

I would still look at getting it replaced. That could be some bad shielding on the speaker if you're not getting buzzing when the radios are off.

Thanks m8,
It's hardly reproduceable after turning the airplane mode on and off. It's working good from my last reply.
I don't know what to do when I ship it back. As it may not happen without a sim card.

You should be able to exchange it under warranty. Usually they don't require you to send the sim card back, I don't believe.
Second day with no problems after using airplane mode.
I can't return this device if I can't reproduce the problem.

keeping it on airplane mode doesnt solve the problem and besides you can make or recieve text messages or calls? Pretty much rendering the phone useless. take back to store sounds like a hardware problem.

I dont keep on airplane I just turn it on then off right away.
I've had the amaze for two weeks now and for the most part love it aside from a few nagging issues.
1) Headphone jack is sensitive to movement (music will cut in and out sometimes if i am walking with it in my pocket)
2) Can't receive pictures. (I've set up my mms to have a max size of 3500k but still not able to receive anything)
3) My signal will cut out randomly for minutes randomly even in places that i usually have full bars. It doesn't just say no signal but my "mobile network" option says its off and its greyed out so i can't try to turn it back on.
Any one else having these issues or have any suggestions? thanks.

Update.
1) The headphone issue of the sound cutting in and out only occurs with some headphones, so I'll just need to find a pair that work fit perfectly I guess. But it made still need to be fixed by sending it in.
2) After calling in, Telus tech support were able to work there magic and fixed the MMS problem. They said it sometimes happens when a new phone is just activated.
3) As for the signal, I found out that these new 3g, 4g phones only use the HSPA+ networks and cannot use the 2g (CDMA/ GSM) network to save battery. The 2g option is there to be used when roaming they said. That doesn't solve the random loss of signal but it has occurred for a while now so hopefully it won't happen much more. Hope this helps anyone else that might be having the same issues.
The only issue I have is the case that Tmobile provided, the hole for a typical headset and power/usb was too small.
I ended up getting the ibeats from beatsaudi. Sound awesome and fit fine, the only issue I'm having with those is the buttons for vol up/down/call dont work due to the fact thats its made for iphone. But other than that their awesome.
Maybe i'll try those on for size. Hopefully i'll find some cheaper ones that work though in the meantime because those aren't cheap.
Bose on ear headphones are amazing.

Amazing as in amazingly bad for the price. I'd Recommend AKG or Sennheiser. Failing that even some V-Moda's would be a good deal. Personally I use Custom made triple driver In Ear Monitors, and the Amaze, with the DSP running, is extremely good indeed soundwise. FAR better than the Ipod Touch I sold.

SECOND UPDATE
Turns out my headphone jack was defected, so I exchanged it for a new amaze, and so far so good.
As for the network connectivity, for TELUS users we don't have the option of 2g, so when I had the settings as wcdma/gsm my guess is the phone was trying to connect to the gsm network but when it couldn't connect it left my phone unconnected to any network. So far with the settings as wcdma only I haven't had any issues. I will see if this will stand the test of time.
I am having 2 of the problems you listed.
On the bus this morning, not only was it cutting out, but completely disconnecting and stopping the playback. As i put my hand in my pocket, I hit the play button and offensively heavy drum n bass started blasting. So good external speaker from what I can tell
I find I will have full coverage, and my texts will not go through. I will try out wcdma only and see if that helps.
I haven't tried receiving picture messages yet... :/
I guess I will pop by Wind on my lunch break and see if the headphone jack problem happens on another phone.
Make that all 3 issues :/

definitely take it in sooner than later to see about the headphone jack, because although they don't always advertise most companies have a 30 day grace period where you can just trade it in the store for a new one instead of shipping it off and waiting weeks for htc to look at it.
Some people say that some phones are just going to be defected since they are so new, so hopefully if you swap it the new one will work good like mine did.
Ask the tech person to do some initialization for your phone that should be able to receive mms afterwards.
As for the connectivity mine still loses signals from now and then, I guess i'll just have to live with it for now and avoid those areas as much as possible. Good luck
I tried the headphones that came with the phone and they work fine, so I guess I just have to be careful which headphones I use, and try out any before I buy them.
I went in to ask about the MMS, and learned my "unlimited everything" plan didn't have MMS... odd. I should still receive them when someone sends them, and I don't. They told me to go to another location *sigh*.
Update on the loss of signal problem, it only happens when I'm in my basement. I had someone call me while I had 3 bars, and I got a text saying I was about to have roaming charges. I think this has more to do with my provider than the phone. To combat this, I'm just going to leave my phone upstairs and access it from my laptop when I'm in the basement. I'm having problems rooting my phone, though... but that's for a different thread.

Yeah, I noticed on engadget the phone didn't come with them either. I guess Canadians get headphones?
It gives me full bars and good speed, but my messages won't send. Soon as I unplug the airave and hit resend text it works. I appreciate any help that comes my way
Airave killed my my WiFi,I tried unplugging it yesterday and my WiFi worked how it should of. With my 3d my WiFi did the same thing it would timeout like one second into a speed test. The thing is my phone is Tue only one that suffers in the family.
And on my phone there was no difference with my cell signal when I unplugged The airave.

That happened to me yesterday. After an Airvana reboot and a few phone reboots, it seems to be working just fine now.
