Working ICS 4.0 in SONY ERICSSON W8/X8

Hello Guys i found that sony ericsson w8/x8 having a ics 4.0 working rom...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363903
why? cant lg p500?
(sorrry for my poor english)
Sorry, but i cant resist it any more - why the ****ing hell do users keep comparing and asking the same questions over and over !? It's already been said - we can't fully port ICS because we need new things from LG and Qualcomm, same is the LG optimus, xperia x8, nexus one. Why don't you people read the thread contents fully before crying to your mother and before jumping to conclusions?

before ask, please read some threads about p500 or use the search button.
ics is not released in a official way, even google, codeaurora, cyanogen, motorola and samsung are fixing a lot of bugs,
so you cant currently expect a working version. and, if you read on your link url, you should know even the X8 isnt realy
working.
Can you stop being childish? You think it's easy to dev? Source code for LG Isnt out. Go read the dev thread for ics dev. I dont wanna of topic but please you guys are asking stupid ques. Just stop asking andy and wait patiently for the rom.

Jelly Bean source code released for AOSP

Hello
Good news ..Jelly beans source code has been released for AOSP .
Heres the thread link
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-4-1-jelly-bean-source-code-released-to-aosp/
Waiting for jellybean to be ported to NEO V
Hey, here's an idea: Why don't you read around on the topic of porting AOSP ROMs instead of spamming things about Jelly Bean that everyone has already seen. I'm pretty sure any of the devs already knew about this long before you. Even the link you gave says don't pressure the devs... it just doesn't make things faster or better. Do something productive. Sorry for the negative post but someone had to say it.

Sony Xperia S will get vanilla Android as a Google experiment

couldn't find any thread related so far.... believe me I checked a lot.(Mods, you can remove it if the info is duplicate)
link here ... http://www.theverge.com/2012/8/18/3250768/google-experiment-aosp-sony-xperia-s
msg from JBQ ... https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/android-building/zji_sQGN9Oo[1-25]
excerpt: This past week there was a little-noticed by very interesting development in the Android Open Source Project. Google's Jean-Baptiste Queru, who has long been the main source of AOSP developments from the company, kicked off "An experiment" with the Sony Xperia S. Google is looking to work with the community to directly support the Xperia S within the AOSP in a manner that's similar to how Google works with Nexus-class devices. Although the project is in very early days, if it's successful we could see more and expanded support for non-Nexus devices come directly from Google and the rest of the Android Open Source participants.

The fact that the device gets a Nexus status makes it something great. I would really like to try this rom when it becomes available. In the git, you can find contributions from freexperia also. waiting for a bleeding edge Jellybeans.

I don't think it gets true Nexus status, in that the updates get sent and developed by Google. Correct me if I am wrong on this.
This is a great initiative by Google!

Sony Xperia S added to AOSP

Good news
The Sony Xperia S is being added to AOSP as the first experimental device:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/sony-xperia-s-added-to-aosp-as-experimental-device/
Check out the dev discussion forum (if you're interested in contributing or just learning how to build a complete ROM from sources (like I am)):
https://groups.google.com/d/topic/android-building/zji_sQGN9Oo/discussion
This should really amp up development for our device. :good:
XDA-Developers video mostly musing on why they have chosen to add experimental devices:

Ohh man,
I literally searched General and Android development for "AOSP" and came up with nothing
Maybe cause it's an old post. I'm sorry for failing at search

The Xperia S will get updates directly from Google, just like the Nexus phones.

Not exactly that. For now, it's only a project.

Indeed. But if it comes to fruition, the idea is that.
The experiment is just to see how difficult it would be to add an unsupported device to AOSP without having to make changes to core components of AOSP. I don't think Google will ever maintain updates for this phone, being in the NXT series from Sony, it comes with their own UI.

A few tweaks will make it fit for XS I guess...

i want to ask if we will have problem with dev cm10 for xperia p after sony release the jb update
if they release it then we have all the needs libs and sources am i right
Please dun spam with such unnecessary questions.. if u would have followed the forum properly u would hv knew the answer already..
After JB release u need its sources also to be released for a rom made from source and if sources not released the porting of rom fully will also be a hell of a job...

Such lame questions and irresponsible attitude of not searching the forum before posting sumthing like this is highly not accepted....
And this the reason many of such threads are not unanswered...
As far as people who want to contribute, they do it anyway unlike you ..
I have had my share of bullets have u???
