i everyone. I have a big problem.
I was developing an app. and i debugged it on my phone. i finished debugging it and locked my phone.
some hours later im at my work and i wanted to check my phone only to discover that it wont show anything at all!
the screen's backlight turns on, but nothing is there. i could hear that the phone worked since i got a message. but it wont show anything.
my phone is an Xperia S. rooted. i uninstalled the app via ADB.exe thinking that might be the problem. i dont remember what developer options i set before dfebugging if that can be an issue.
what can i do? please help me.
I would assume that you have done a battery pull(?).
If you have to my knowledge you can't easily change the developer options through ADB so I have some bad news for you, a hard reset may be your only option.
There may be a more expert user who could shed a little more light on this though.
Can you boot into Android recovery, or do you have a CWM recovery on your device?

Funny, very funny. but this is a real issue and it is a pain in the ass to deal with.
I understand, but as far as i know noone can help you, so something had to be done to make the things funnier ^^
I don't have this problem and the problem is only on 101. By setting the brightness in auto mode or higher may solve the problem.

I recieved word from ARCHOS support today:
Re: [Ticket#201174289] Support request: ARCHOS 70 internet tablet - 8 GB
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we have heard of others with this
issue. We will be sure to pass this information along to our software engineers
and hope to have this corrected in the next firmware release.
Thank you,

Hopefully this means that they will fix the boot issue and the sleep issue.
I was getting this issue even before updating so, nothing has changed on my end.
Hey thanks for reading, a couple of days ago , my wifes phone got stolen, i had the find my phone app installed in it but i always had my doubts as i always thought that if someone like me finds a phone and wants to keep it, they could just master reset it and erase any gps traking apps and have a new phone rigth? well thats what happened, tiefh turned off the phone right away and the phone never showed up neither on google device manager nor the find my phone either. Anyway , a person that works on a cell repair shop told me, he has his phone setup in a way that if you do a factory reset or even if you flash the phone, once the phone has acces to the internet, it will install the gps back again and tell you where it is.
So i was wondering if anyone has any idea wich app or how to do such thing. Thanks for your time and pardon my bad grammar and english.
PS: i wonder why google dosnt have something like the icloud where you can lock your phone to it via imei, that way if it gets stolen you can just lock your phone and tiefs wont be able to use it. I know google has my last imei, so i guess is posible for them to track my device to see wich other account is using my phone.

With root access Avast Mobile Security has this kind of features as far as I remember. It keeps a protection after a factory reset or a firmware installation.
BTW Apple produces the devices so they have a control on the IMEI (IMEI is a hardware data and not software). Moreover you should probably be able to contact your local authoritizies to blacklist the IMEI.
Hope it helps.
ill give that atry, the reviews dont look good but most of them look to be because people dont understand that there are 2 kinds of the same app, one for normal users , the other for rooted users. Thanks alot for your help. Any other options out there?

Broken to the point where the touchscreen doesn't work? If so, then there isn't much you can do, unless USB Debugging is already enabled, and even that depends on which update it's on, to whether or not you can access it with a new PC without accepting the key on the phone if trying to connect via adb. If the touchscreen still works, then there is a variety of ways to retrieve texts.

Short of replacing the screen, nothing else to do, unfortunately.
Yah, I'm just wondering my ZTE ZMAX Pro z981 is randomly rebooting.. seen it when it's on the charger and when it received a phone call today on ATT.. ?
I mean I figure it must be just bad hardware or background programs that I disabled? cause I dunno.. I figured I might try a factory reset and see it's better.. don't know if that will mess up my unlock but I'll assume it'll be unlocked as well after?
I have not given it root or even put on a rom.. this is just mostly the default software that doesn't have a update as far as I can tell..? I disabled some background programs via the utilities for programs in android.
There is no legit root for the Z981 Metrobloat float.

Don't brick your phone trying right now. Now t worth it. Now as far as the problem this phone has aside from that is the open firewall, I recommend hitting up the app store and loading the free "No Root Data Firewall" I swear it's like the only app that's free that actually does something great. It locks the wall in with the VPN, you will have to grant it permission to do so, and deal with it nagging you for a daycorcso until all the appropriate apos have auto access but it will put an end to the reboot issue your having fr sure

Forgive my ignorance if this question is posted in the wrong place. Recently I've purchased an Asus Padfone X when I accidentally demolished my Nexus 6p. I've rooted, custom recovery and successfully installed cm13. For reasons unknown to me everytime I downloaded anything I would get a persistent notification whether I cleared then or not.. It seemed as though seconds after i cleared it that it would pop right back up... So I did the logical thing and turned off notifications for downloads. That had the negative side effect of not knowing whether the download started/finished/progress of it. Now when I turn on the notifications... they don't work at all... so even though it says they are enabled I still don't receive any.. Any help would be appreciated.. or even if someone could point me in the right direction.. thank you in advance
