Can you guys tell me what problems you're having after updating to ICS.
I have the following;
- no more lock screen lock and unlock sounds
- Go SMS Pro pattern lock no longer working
- Volume+ crashes
- phone app crashes
- contacts app crashes
- sms notification sounds not working
Hey! I have none of these issues. After reading this, i started realizing that my lock sound was fine too. Then i went to settings to check and it turns out it was just deselected. Turned it on and tested it out. It works but it is really low volume. I'm sure there is a way to turn it up. I had to put my ear to the speaker to actually realize it worked. Everything else is fine with mine.....at the moment..

I have not had any of those issues. But it certainly seems like most of them are related to specific programs which will require the devs to update those apps.
When you go into Settings under Sound the box is checked for Screen Lock Sounds? Yet you get nothing?
Had no issue with my phone app or contacts. I have no issue with my sounds. Even my CustomSMS tones are working perfectly.
My upgrade was perfect. I have had no issues and my phone is smooth as silk.
Same here. This is the most stable ICS so far. Ofcorse it has to be since its official release. But I also have NONE of the issues stated above. Rooted. Removed bloated. Running Apex Launcher. Smoother than a baby's butt.

Settings>Sounds was the first place I looked. everything is at max volume and all boxes checked. still no lock sounds.
only Go SMS and Volume + are 3rd party. the lock sounds, contacts and phone are system related and should be working but they are not.
I have been using stock. Before the upgrade, it was the smoothest phone ever. After upgrading to ics, I see leggings, quite annoying. Is it possible to remove the update and redo it?

I was getting a few FC's, but I then wiped Dalvik/Cache, used RM and fixed permissions(I did a pretty rocky restore to stock rom and didn't wipe user data). I gutted bloat APK's and its running much better.

Adding, that for the lock sounds, it does work, its just VERY LOW. Go into settings - > sounds -> Volume and crank System to the max. you can hear it when locking a few seconds after doing it, but its so low even at max.
I did have problems with the contact app FCing but its prob because I also flashed the 15 toggle mod and the sgs3 stuff (neither worked). I reflashed the rom and no more fcs.

Someone already responded that there is volume, it is just ultra low. Have you tried doing a factory reset?

this isn't so much a problem but wtf with the touchwiz and not being able to have drag and drop folders like stock. that was one of the best features.... at least they left the ability to pulldown the notification shade on the lockscreen though... although they did take away quick access to the camera. stupid TW
I love it!!!! At 75% battery after an eight hours of use so I think that's quite rocking. My only issue is that the default messaging app is the most laggy thing I have ever experienced but I use go SMS anyways so not the worst thing to happen.
Other than that, it seems really stable, fast, and responsive.
Dull Colors
Overall I love the ICS update. Phone is definitely snappier. The problem I'm having is that my screen is more dull looking than it was before. The colors just don't pop the way that they use to for the wallpapers and videos. I changed the brightness all the way to 100% and that helped a little but it's still not where it was before the update.
Anyone have any ideas?

Don't know what that is but I'm not rooted so I'm guessing no.

This is an app I've been working on for a couple days now. I know its not a original idea but its something I wanted and therefore I had to make this app
Reboot on button press
Reboot to recovery
Reboot to bootloader
Hot reboot
Power off
Schedule reboot
Works on Sense
REMINDER! This is a BETA release which means there may be bugs in the app. Use at your own risk.
There may be a problem with the app that makes it bootloop after a couple of days. I think I've fixed this issue but just in case, use the widget! If you phone starts to bootloop, hit the disable button and it will stop. If this does happen (bootloop), please let me know in the comments.
Keep in mind:
The icon is generic (only colored blue) and will be changed.
All menu options *should* work.
Disable/Enable schedule works.
Menu - Settings - Backup and Restore works (for me).
Menu - About - works lol.
Menu - Setup - setup the schedule (same for button).
Menu - Quit - does what it says eh?
Only functional (enable/disable) widget works.
Press the "hot reboot" button before scheduling (requires its own SU permission).
Anyhow.. with that said, I would like testers for what does *work* so far thanks!
Reboot Scheduler 10/15/2011
Changelog:
10/01/2011 - Initial release.
10/05/2011 - Enable/disable widget works perfectly now, fixed the bootloop issue (hopefully).
10/11/2011 - Works on HTC Sense now. In fact, should work on any ROM (so long as you're rooted of course). Fixed issue with setup button on HTC Sense. New landscape button layout. Changed enable/disable widget background to transparent black.
10/13/2011 - Added ability to change the background color (in settings). Added checkbox option to disable/enable confirmation screen when hitting reboot buttons (in settings). Added power off as an option and button on main layout and ability to schedule shutdowns. Fixed landscape layout for our phones (no more scrolling).
10/15/2011 - Had issues reported with bootlooping after 4 or 5 days. Re-wrote the alarm manager code to have hopefully fixed this issue for good. (I wasn't setting my Calendar event with the current system time in milliseconds, my bad! lol). Make sure to uninstall old version before installing new one!

Found a bug! If you set the repeat daily and it reboots, on second reboot (I believe) it will boot loop (at least it did on my phone). Must have made a mistake in my calculations when setting the time for next reboot (that's what I get for programming so drunk lol). So uninstall the app to be safe or disable schedule then reboot normally to be safe. I will re-post on here once I fix it.

Got the problem resolved, added hot reboot option. Uploading and will post new app here soon. Oh, and a reminder: if you're going to set hot reboot as the scheduled reboot; you must first hit the hot reboot button and accept the SU permission. In other words, hot reboot first before scheduling so it gains the SU permission.

So far all functions work perfectly. I will keep u posted about the possible bootloop in a few days or so. Good job on this app, its clean and smooth.
Edit: used several times without a hitch. Will keep u posted as to whether any boot loops occur over the next few days.
Edit: day two: worked flawlessly no bootloops.

Just intalled this today. All the reboots work properly as far as i can tell. I think this is a great idea. I find my phone needs a reboot once in a while and why not let it do that while I'm sleeping.
Here are 2 observations that i had.
When i go to set the time for the schedule the number wheel is very unresponsive. I running the latest miui(10.7). It was very difficult switching the time. Shouldn't be a huge deal now that i got the time right and shouldn't have to switch it again.
The other is i use no frills and when it goes to set the values upon booting up it states, "values not set, unclean shut down". And again probably not a huge deal either as i set the max a 806mhz so its probably not any different running without it. Its just I've been having really good battery life lately and don't want to change anything.
Once again great job on this and thankyou.

That's very strange. On the set time dialog, the TimePicker is standard (un-modified android widget). I'll be flashing MIUI later today and see what I can find. As for the unclean shutdown, it really is lol and unfortunately is the only way I can for now.

Ok. Yeah its the standard time picker that i have for any other app. When i try to spin in slowly i have to do it 3 times to get it to move 1 number. Sometimes i can flick it and it'll spin but who knows where it's gonna land. I understand on the unclean shutdown. Thanks.

Maybe that's something with MIUI. The TimePicker allows you to press the + and - buttons to add and subtract hours/minutes or enter the values with keyboard. I don't know what you mean by spin.. I can press and hold a button on sense and it will keep going up or down in value but there's no spinning that I'm aware of.

First like to thank everyone who worked on this! Especially for getting it out so quickly.
For the most part everything has been working really well. Using this as a daily driver right now.
Couple questions I have though. I am running the apex launcher that was included as well as the MIUI lockscreen. About 25% of the time when I turn the phone on I get the stock lock screen then the miui lockscreen. tried disabling the stock lock screen. that worked until I rebooted the phone then i had no lock screen at all. Re-enabling the swipe locksceen brought it back but still get the stock swipe away screen randomly. Guessing this is an issue that will have to wait to be resolved with a custom ROM?
Also having an issue with apex. Sometimes when hitting the home button from any app it goes to a completely blank screen. I can see my wallpaper but that's it. Have to hit home again to actually get to home screen.
Anyone can point me in the right direction to turn haptic feedback off on the keyboard? I can't seem to find the option anywhere.
One last thing I'm noticing, when I'm scrolling with the s pen in the browser, it just randomly zooms in. Im sure I'm not hitting the button or double tapping. Anyone else getting this?
Thanks,
Shrubbry

Since you didn't specify WHICH keyboard...those buttons are the settings fit each keyboard
Also remember, it's an alpha build, based off of a leaked firmware, that the leak itself has bugs in, a completely bug free experience isn't to be expected
I can help with the blank homescreen issue, I think. Goto Apex Settings / Homescreen. You will see options to set the number of screens AND, which screen you want to make your DEFAULT screen (when you hit the home key). Set that screen to one that's not blank, (the one you use the most) and I think that will fix that issue. As far as miui locker, I have not had that issue your describing, yet.

Unfortunately, pressing the Home button does nothing for me... I have to restart to get the Apex Homescreen to display.

I am having power down issues it freezes and also when I try to restart .Everything is great other then this part.
This issue should not be on alpha 2.......i could restart and reboot many times with no issue what so ever. but now that i am on the Collective build 4 i do have the issues that you speak of. i just hold the power button to do a reboot now you can use the hotboot options if needed.

K9 will not work with my primary gmail email.
No wifi button in the pull down header.
Screen only 4 icons across.
Text msg icon will not refresh after looking at a text. Have to turn restart the phone for #of messages to disappear.
Google Voice widget only works sporadically. Rarely downloads the audio.
I hope some if not all of these are solvable. But so far I've had not luck...

All those quick buttons on the pull down header and NO wifi.. that's mind boggling to me too. I'm waiting for root and some roms to fix that I guess.
4 Icons across.. I loaded up Nova Launcher. This huge screen has way too much open space stock. With Nova I added another column and row of icons. Looks much better!
I'm having NO issues with the txt message icon refreshing after opening a text. I did notice that my brother's Note 2 (on sprint) has this little bubble that appears on the lock screen above the app message icon.. a small bubble that's pretty clear that has a "1" in it for the new message. I couldn't find that on my phone.
I can't comment on the others.. I only use Gmail and don't use the GV widget.
I've been using Nova Launcher to change my grid and app drawer (decided on 5x6 I think). The same should fix your notification count for unread SMS/emails/calls.
Beautiful Widgets has a toggle widget for a ton of stuff, Wifi included.
I like the native Gmail app. Love the widget.
Not much of a fix for any of your issues, but they're good alternatives until we get rooted/ROMed.
I like Nova Launcher but I don't like losing some s-pen functionality. I'll stay stock till rook comes along. I want to add functionalty, not lose it.

That's not so much S-Pen functionality as it is a function of the stock Touch Whiz launcher on the Note 2. It's similar to losing some of the Touch Whiz widgets when using a third-party launcher. So yeah, by using a third-party launcher you do loose some from functionality from the stock launcher, but you retain full S-Pen functionality.
Personally, I turned Page Buddy off as soon as I received the phone because I found it annoying. But I can see how it would be useful for some people.

Does it work with any accounts? If so and not Gmail it's probably configuration. K9's pretty popular so if all N2's couldn't use it to access Gmail I'd imagine more people would be complaining. I know it's a pain in the ass but you may want to hard reset your device and see if any/all of these issues are present without your apps on it. Not all apps play nice with JB.

The WiFi toggle isn't there on the Verizon version of the Note 2. Instead of the toggle, we get the annoying ongoing notification about WiFi seen in the attached screenshot. Verizon did the same thing with the Galaxy S3.
Is there an app that makes your data connection look like a Wifi connection? (jailbroken iDevices had something called 3G Unrestrictor). That might solve the stupid popup.

That won't get rid of the ongoing notification. When you connect to WiFi, it changes to say that you're connected to WiFi. It stays there regardless. The only way to permanently get rid of it is with root.

Wow. Sorry guys. I just assumed simple stuff would be unmolested from the international version. VZW seems to enjoy adding their special touches to their versions of various devices.

I've had 24 hours with my new Verizon Note 2 and it's been very frustrating. Coming off the N7000 I figured it would be a breeze to set up, not the case at all. Without getting into exporting and importing, some of the issues I've been having include the following:
K9 will not work with my primary gmail email.
No wifi button in the pull down header.
Screen only 4 icons across.
Text msg icon will not refresh after looking at a text. Have to turn restart the phone for #of messages to disappear.
Google Voice widget only works sporadically. Rarely downloads the audio.
I hope some if not all of these are solvable. But so far I've had not luck...

For the wifi notification just longpress it and hit app info. It will take you to android system. Force close it and the wifi notification will be gone until you reboot.

As for gmail, my other gmail accounts work with K9. It's just my primary one that doesn't. I deleted it from the gmail app and retried but had no luck...

Just use a home switcher app and switch simultaneously between tw &nova.
I'm gonna try this.
I'm gonna switch my default to tw and delete all screens except 1 of course. But stay on nova. Then when I pull out the s-pen hit home and go straight to the buddy Page.
Either that or create an entire Page in nova with s-pen apps & their corresponding widgets.

I think this deserves its own thread so more people will be able to get a better view of the Vodafone Kit Kat update which i got today as an OTA ( D80220A DE 16GB ).
1. Auto brightness works perfectly (although it's a bit dark in low light conditions, maybe my eyes have to get used to it)
2. Knock on is instant, works perfectly and it's 100% accurate and successful (led light flashes cyan instead of white)
3. Auto account sync now works perfectly(it used to refresh randomly)
4. Battery life is actually better
5. Some apps run faster and they have the 3 dot option which first appeared on 4.3 I think?
6. Locations services and gps have merged to a single toggle button but you can still switch to different modes. Also more battery efficient.
7. White icons on status bar and transparency for status bar + front touch buttons on apps that support it
8. Updated LG applications
9. On screen phone application added (allows to control phone screen from the computer while on wifi) and preinstalled Google Drive app.
10. Camera photos are saved by default in a "camera" folder instead of the 100LGDSC.Camera(old) contains the old photos in gallery.
11. No knock code and no ART options available.
12. In application settings there is a separate "Disabled" bar next to "All" listing the disabled apps (Which is very convenient)
13. Printing added on general settings
14. 4G works normaly as before
15. The font on some apps is bigger
16. Weather animation now working properly and without lag on the lockscreen
17. Camera autofocus seems to have been improved, especially in video recording
18. No more stuttering on menu animations while something else runs in the background (i.e. When a chat head pops up or the weather widget refreshes)
19. Option in settings for turning on or off the led notification light for downloaded apps
20. Aspect ratio correction was removed from the settings (I can't find it so correct me if i'm wrong)
21. Two new FM radio widgets available

Issues:
1. "com.google.process.gapps has stopped" error showing up after each boot
(Note : Reportedly a hard reset fixes this)
(Note 2 : I confirmed that SwiftKey causes the error and it should be resolved by an app update.
Vote for the bug here: http://support.swiftkey.net/forums/...stions/5560697-foreclose-on-lg-g2-at-t-kitkat)
2. The Bluetooth process is running even when off but i don't see high impact on battery life as others mentioned.
Eventually people will report the issue and it will be fixed in a future update.
3. Noise and hissing when playing music with earphones and the stock player.
4. Sometimes, when plugging in the headphones the sound comes only from the the phone speaker and only way to resolve this is by rebooting.
(As for the lower benchmark scores after KitKat i've never tried it and i couldn't care less)

Additional thoughts:
This update is more like an "under the hood" job ! Phone feels smoother and stable overall, many small issues have been sorted and a few details here and there were refined and polished, resulting in a stock Rom the way it should be done. In short words I'm very satisfied.
Feel free to ask me questions
Regards!

I'm not sure if this is KK related or it has been there before but when I receive an incoming call while I'm browsing a small window pops up with the caller info and 'answer' and 'reject' buttons so you won't get interrupted by calls if your doing something which is a really nice feature!

Wao this is a very positive review regarding update. Seems like it was well worth the wait.
I'll be very glad if Auto Brightness is working fine now.
Two questions
1. Opening threads in messages app seem to take a second in JB. Any difference felt in kitkat?
2. Photos taken as portrait come out as landscapes in PC and have to set them as portrait again in windows. Kitkat solves this?

1. Not sure if it's a second but doesn't seem to have changed for me
2. It's the same, but I think this is due to the way Windows Explorer handles the photos.

anyone know how to get rid of bluetooth running in background even though its not on?
I found that the rotation on home screen from portrait to landscape is smoother.

there was a suggestion to choose only bluetooth from the battery saver items and turn it on immediately but i tried that and it doesnt woek.
Can you try swiping the navigation bar downwards? I saw a video about a KK review on G2 and he can hide / show the nav bar by swiping gesture. Please confirm?
The bluetooth service doesnt seem to run on the Korean version guys.Maybe they fixed it?
I found another issue guys tho i dont know if its only on my end:
When using the quick window case there was supposed to be music controls when playing music with the stock player,no?
Anyone that can confirm this?

The keyboard didnt work for me by default, I had to check to some really obscure option in settings for it to work(This problem might just be limited to me though)
I'm just amazed we got Lollipop at all, and I know things can only get smoother and less buggy from here. Thanks sbrissen!
Going to give it a try and will let you know how it works.
This may come across as a stupid question but are you referring to a kitkat compatible recovery like the latest Philz or latest CWM or an actual "kitkat" recovery?
Thanks in advance.

Wow... lolly pop is super smooth. Like butter. I had an issue with getting the keyboard to pop up at first. The camera only works in selfy mode and crashed when I tried video. I also live in central Pennsylvania so after I sent one text, it wouldn't send anymore. That can be fixed though on my end, I think. I also couldn't hang up on a call. All in all though great start.
Will lollypop get the theme engine like CM? I think that was the only thing I would miss in it.

I installed with twrp 2.8.1.0. Could not get keyboard either. Had to go into language and input and turn on hardware keyboard. That made the keyboard start popping up. I'm also getting the black pixels during screen rotation. So far it looks like there's no way to disable the capacitive button lights either
Pretty darn awesome that this is out though! Thank you so much
Only big bug I have encounter in an hour or so of playing around is that it cannot connect to the rear camera, only front facing, as glockman4519 stated. And also the keyboard bug, but that's only on the first boot so far.

Found another bug, or maybe I'm just dumb, but I cannot get the heads-up notifications to do anything. When you have the screen on and you get a text or a phone call, the notification will pop up along the top, and I can only swipe them away. I cannot tap them to open the app, I cannot press the 'answer' or 'ignore' buttons that pop up on the phone call notification. I tried tapping, double tapping, swiping up. Nothing. I can only dismiss the notification by swiping left or right.
Anybody else experiencing this? Or am I doing something wrong?

Still no keyboard for me. I didn't see any option to "turn on hardware keyboard". When I clicked on the item under "hardware keyboard", it popped up a window saying "configure keyboard input method" or something like that. I configured one, and then hit the back button till I got back to my home screen, but still couldn't get a keyboard to pop up. I'm using Nova launcher, if that makes any difference. And trying to use Hacker's Keyboard....

I couldn't get the main camera to work. The front, or the one used to take selfys is the one that comes on by default. And there was no way to turn the camera around. This was on my phone and your mileage may differ though.
Give it some time though as this is the early release and will have bugs. I have to say again though that the smoothness of this rom is unreal.
Tried everything, verified md5, wiped it raw, tried newest Philz and TWRP. Cannot get this bad boy to boot. Just bootloops over and over again. Sigh.. This build don't like my phone.
pixelation during rotation is fixed, it was some legacy graphic code that got merged that fixed it. Working on stabalizing ril, gps, and some other fixes.
