wow, thanks for making it easier to forget about the Nexus 6 that Verizon wont say a word about
Some bugs I've noticed:
Locking/Rotating the screen results in a hatchy pattern of black pixels

The keyboard didnt work for me by default, I had to check to some really obscure option in settings for it to work(This problem might just be limited to me though)
I'm just amazed we got Lollipop at all, and I know things can only get smoother and less buggy from here. Thanks sbrissen!
Going to give it a try and will let you know how it works.
This may come across as a stupid question but are you referring to a kitkat compatible recovery like the latest Philz or latest CWM or an actual "kitkat" recovery?
Thanks in advance.

Wow... lolly pop is super smooth. Like butter. I had an issue with getting the keyboard to pop up at first. The camera only works in selfy mode and crashed when I tried video. I also live in central Pennsylvania so after I sent one text, it wouldn't send anymore. That can be fixed though on my end, I think. I also couldn't hang up on a call. All in all though great start.
Will lollypop get the theme engine like CM? I think that was the only thing I would miss in it.

I installed with twrp 2.8.1.0. Could not get keyboard either. Had to go into language and input and turn on hardware keyboard. That made the keyboard start popping up. I'm also getting the black pixels during screen rotation. So far it looks like there's no way to disable the capacitive button lights either
Pretty darn awesome that this is out though! Thank you so much
Only big bug I have encounter in an hour or so of playing around is that it cannot connect to the rear camera, only front facing, as glockman4519 stated. And also the keyboard bug, but that's only on the first boot so far.

Found another bug, or maybe I'm just dumb, but I cannot get the heads-up notifications to do anything. When you have the screen on and you get a text or a phone call, the notification will pop up along the top, and I can only swipe them away. I cannot tap them to open the app, I cannot press the 'answer' or 'ignore' buttons that pop up on the phone call notification. I tried tapping, double tapping, swiping up. Nothing. I can only dismiss the notification by swiping left or right.
Anybody else experiencing this? Or am I doing something wrong?

Still no keyboard for me. I didn't see any option to "turn on hardware keyboard". When I clicked on the item under "hardware keyboard", it popped up a window saying "configure keyboard input method" or something like that. I configured one, and then hit the back button till I got back to my home screen, but still couldn't get a keyboard to pop up. I'm using Nova launcher, if that makes any difference. And trying to use Hacker's Keyboard....

On a separate note, I noticed I wasn't able to send or receive MMS, which lead me to investigate, and I do not have any mobile data. Phone calls and SMS work fine, though.

Weird, I don't remember seeing that toggle. I'll re-backup my current cm11 and restore to cm12, see if I can't find it. Thanks.
Ah, yes, there it is! And it's working fine, now! Woo woo!
Some people were saying the back-facing camera wasn't working. It seems to be working for me.
But GPS definitely wasn't working... so here I go back to cm11

I couldn't get the main camera to work. The front, or the one used to take selfys is the one that comes on by default. And there was no way to turn the camera around. This was on my phone and your mileage may differ though.
Give it some time though as this is the early release and will have bugs. I have to say again though that the smoothness of this rom is unreal.
Tried everything, verified md5, wiped it raw, tried newest Philz and TWRP. Cannot get this bad boy to boot. Just bootloops over and over again. Sigh.. This build don't like my phone.
pixelation during rotation is fixed, it was some legacy graphic code that got merged that fixed it. Working on stabalizing ril, gps, and some other fixes.

I need someone to be my guinea pig and give this build a try. I no longer have the device but think this great device deserves this great ROM.

Rev. 2 http://d-h.st/mId
Not sure if this will fix dpi issue. I dont have a hdpi.conf file that doesn't have a nav bar. Might need to make one if this doesn't work.
Rev. 3 http://d-h.st/qI6
A attempt to get hardware button layout straightened out. DPI issue unresolved. Use Hybrid settings.
Rev. 4 http://d-h.st/iqW
Possible dpi fix.
Rev. 4 http://d-h.st/rzS
Finally figured out what the real dpi is. Should be allset. check gps to see if recent cm sources fixed issue.
Rev. 5 http://d-h.st/8xn
2.9.5 updates.

I'm downloading now, will throw you some feedback after I have it installed
EDIT: Ok here's my review, first thing off the bat I noticed was the screen size was too big, tried setting the DPI value in build.prop and reboot but it stayed the same. Everything else seemed to run really smooth otherwise, if you can change the DPI to the s2 default I think this rom would then be superb I also wouldn't mind helping you troubleshoot, I'm not a noob to this sort of stuff, so just let me know, I restored my backup but I also have a backup of this rom too...
Im more than willing to help test.I recently gave up a much more "powerful" and well known newer device in favor of a new i777.I am at your disposal

Alrighty guys I have another attempt in o.p. Let me know how it goes.
Got this up and running right now and it works great, no force closes or bugs . Can make calls and use Wi-Fi. One thing though when it first boots up you need to go to the hybrid setting and change the dpi and your set. Also one thing, you cannot press and hold the capacitive keys for different commands they can only be.set for one touch action and there is no option in the setting to add the search key so it's basically blank. I'll post a screen shot after I test it out more.
Here you go

Thanks for getting back to me. The new repository has a whole new way of dealing with hardware keys Im still working it out. Were any of them set to anything at first boot? Also I tried to set the dpi to 213 I take it that didn't stick? Do you remember what it was at before you changed it?

http://d-h.st/qI6 Tried setting hardware soft keys correctly.
The capacitive keys were as follows menu was set as menu, home to home, back to back, and search key is blank but does vibrate when touch. In then setting for the keys I can change the normal key presses but you cannot set the long press key options since they wont work.
The DPI was set to 360 for system and apps, all I did was enable the hybrid mode, rebooted, changed DPI to 213 system and 215 apps and made sure to change the ui mode to phone. It can change to phablet and tablet modes as well. The only issue I have is the search key , and long presses that don't work yet.
This rom so far is awesome and runs smoothly, also battery drain is non existing, though I do have a extended battery, but thanks and let me know if you need more info.
You have a new beta tester! I'll get some screenies for you soon.
Edit:
Initial DPI needs to be lowered. I think it's defaulting to around 350. Should be the low 200's.
Is there a reason Play Store isn't included?
Also, and you may know this, GPS is broken due to upstream CM changes. Might want to note that in OP as this is a feature a lot of people rely on. Maps seems to work, but other apps that use location can't get a lock.

EDIT 2: Ok you guys may have noticed that the Play Store displays too big when you load it up, to fix that just go to DPI Groups in Hybrid Properties, then add Google Play Store to the 213 DPI Group and that will fix it, I've also got my system DPI screen size fixed This rom is shaping up to be pretty good, nice job RBMacgregor

If the play store is not included its to keep the peace with google. They have done a lot for us and doing what they ask is the least we can do. It was in there at one point but may be pulled. As for the gps I was not aware its broken. I'm not too familiar with this device I'm just trying to get this build straightened out for my girlfriend who has the phone. Do you know what the deal is with gps? Is there a fix available or a commit I can revert?

Ok. I don't think this will do it but I need someone to install this and tell me if there is a nav bar along with hardware soft buttons. http://d-h.st/iqW

HTC One Illusion Rom FAQs
How do I enable HALO?
Go into settings. Under Illusion System Settings, select interface. You will find Halo Options. Here you can turn on halo, and tweak the way Halo works.
Where is my Data toggle in the notification pane quick settings panel?
As of right now, the only way to toggle data is through the Data Usage menu in settings. A fix is being worked on for this. I believe the problem exists in quite a few ROMS for the One.
Why isn't my NFC working?
Don't worry, all you need to do is flash the file at the bottom of this post title NFC Fix. This fix was pointed out by @Pony Express.
How do I enable/Disable CRT animations?
CRT off animation can be toggled under Illusion System Settings>Display
How do I access Google Now?
On the HTC One, the HTC logo is NOT a button. However, in the Illusion ROM (and some other ones), the strip above the logo has been modded to work as a button. Long pressing that stip will give you instant access to Now
Are there any other Bugs I should be aware of?
Not sure if it is mac only, or whether this will occur on PC as well, but if you connect as MTP, mac does not recognize it. ADB and PTP work fine. It is only MTP where this issue occurs. At this point, I feel the issue is with Macs being unable to recognize the MTP protocol. I was able to work it on a PC.

Great rom. I just flashed an hour or 2 ago and I have had no problems. Is it possible to get rid of the background on the halo bubble? Also, it seems like whenever you uninstall an app, a pop-up comes up and says "settings has stopped." the app still uninstalls but just a FYI. Nothing major.

Elemental does not work with this ROM. I tried it and I got a black screen on boot. I am almost sure this is a universal issue, as I did this on an absolutely clean and fresh version of Illusion. Just a friendly warning.

I have 2 problems with Epinter ROM actually (it's an amazing ROM by the way !!).
First, in the e-mail app, when I want to switch between my accounts with the drop down button, the app crash automatically (I had to install Gmail instead...).
Then, I just realised that calls don't work in another country. I just moved country and I can't call or receive any call from anybody (it worked in my country). Only the messages work and I absolutely have to make calls
I'm pretty sure that the problem comes from the ROM (or the kernel-2014_03_21_23_51_cm10_1), because I had the Neutrino 3.02 before, and I never had this problem.
Thank you in advance !
So to summarize - you're running an alpha-stage experimental ROM, and then you complain you have problems you didn't used to have on a stable ROM.
Clearly you either didn't know it's an alpha-stage ROM (in which case you should have done much more reading before any kind of flashing), or you don't know what "alpha-stage" means and who it is intended for.
If you want full functionality, stay away from any 4.0+ ROM. This has been clearly stated countless times in dozens of threads.
Well ok... Where do you see that I complain... ? I just ask if somebody had this kind of problem and resolved it... Is it wrong ?
It just comes off as complaining. Sorry if I misunderstood. Still, like I said, this is an experimental ROM, it changes almost every day (the kernel does anyway), there are countless variations of it (based on what kernel you're using), so it is probably too volatile and unstable for anyone to give you any usable advice.
Yeah maybe it seemed to be a complaint because it's when you need something there is always a problem (moreover, I'm not a native English speaker as you've probably seen).
I understand perfectly that I'm running an alpha ROM, and by the way, I was surprised to see how it works good ! I just wondered if I missed any option which could solve my problem.
Anyway, thanks for the answer ravilov and congrats to the developers :cyclops:
Hi. I'm also running 10.1 with kernel from 03.27 (recently updated) and experienced some lag in flappy bird. I know it is not a big deal (unless you bet with your friends on better score but i did not have this issue on topsmart 2.3.7. I used to have a kernel from the 10.1 rom from december an that combiation also had this issue. Do you have any information why is it lagging? To be mosre precise, i experience the lag when tapping the screen. Sometimes the game is stuck even for about 1-1,5 sec. Your ideas are much appreciated!

Its that awesome thing that was just discussed above yours. ANY 4.0+ ROM with 3.1.10 kernel is ALPHA STAGE, meaning EXPERIMENTAL and has bugs, not necessarily intended for daily use (NOTE: I've said this before, the kernel is nearly at an official Beta Stage, so that daily use part is the general advice, not necessarily the case with us). If Flappy Birds, which is a game and not an absolute necessity for our device to work properly, is an issue or a "I gotta have it" type thing, downgrade back to stock.

He's right, but for the record, flappy bird runs perfectly on atrICS, as always has, despite the kernel version

I never got caught up in the popularity of that game, so I will say that I did not know that.

Seeing this makes even me happy. Anything specific you had to cherry-pick for proper hardware functions?

I still have to use Evervolv's vold to get it to properly mount the sdcards, pull qcom/gps from CM, and I did have to make a new omni branch of device/vigor which I just pushed to my github. Outside of those three things, everything came from the team vigor repo and straight from Omni.
Hey, think I might test this one. Can you give me a sense for battery life? Maybe similar to Evervolv?

Honestly, I don't really know. I know all the device configurations that I use specifically are the same. So unless some of the built in apps are pure battery hogs, I can't imagine it being that much worse.

Thanks... I just flashed it and I'll let you know what my experience is like. Thanks for giving us more options!
Ok, here is a report from a person running a SIM'less setup. I have data and MMS, working well. I got one freeze with the pull down shade hanging (had to do a battery pull). There is still a little oddity with the camera / gallery setup... the gallery froze up once with me and was a bit laggy at times. The camcorder did record but would not play back the video I recorded or a video I already had on the SD card from a previous recording. Oh, and the capacitive lights do not work... the buttons do, just not the lights.
Otherwise, this seems like a pretty smooth ROM and hopefully, these few oddities will be ironed out with time. Also, I love the boot animation! Thanks!!!

Hmmm... Interesting. Time to start debugging I guess.
The initial camera problems I had were all permissions issues. I'll have to take a look at all that stuff again and see if there are more.
Camera issue is fixed and I might have the capacitive lights issues sorted too. I've got to wait for the build to finish.
Edit: Capacitive button lights issue resolved. Build uploading now.
Only installed it last night, but so far so good for me. Had some troubles with getting root initially, but after installing SuperSU a few times/different ways and a couple reboots I eventually got it straightened out. I did a full wipe including int/ext sdcards and also went back to TWRP 2.6.3.0 so maybe that had something to do with the root thing?
My capacitive buttons are completely dead, they quit on me a month or so ago. So I actually prefer the lights off anyway since the buttons don't do anything. That's good news on the camera though- haven't tried the camera at all yet.
New ROM uploaded, links in OP updated.
Just flashed. Looks good, so far. One thing I do not like (and pretty much the only thing I don't like about Evervolv) is the keyboard. On every other ROM, the AOSP keyboard had all the long-press options for special characters. These ROMs do not. I tried installing the keyboard apk from another ROM and it worked fine until a reboot when it would revert back. Maybe it's a CM thing and that's why these ROMs don't have the keyboard I want. I guess I could install a keyboard from the Play Store, I just usually like to leave the keyboard alone. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Thanks. I really want to try and either enable some kind of setting or be able to install a keyboard from another ROM and have it "stick". But I will take your suggestions under advisement. :good:

My bad! Looks like Omni does not include a super user app by default. They recommend SuperSU.

I'm going to look into building it in, I'll update the OP with this now.

Either I'm blind or they magically appeared. I would prefer the long-press options were different colors. Something to play with. BTW, the customization options on this ROM are awesome!

Flashed a while ago as soon as it popped up on AFH. Really liking it so far, pure AOSP with few usueful PA features like peek, immersive mode, etc. Doesn't feel bloated with customizations like other roms. Can't comment on battery life yet obviously. No crashes or bootloops in this short time, and performance is reallyyyy nice. Awesome job, really appreciate this rom.
awesome! Thanks!

Works on both. Should be CDMA since it's ls990 but works for me on T-Mobile as well, also my brother who lives abroad flashed it on his ls990 and it works with international GSM just set network mode to Global and add APN.

So far so good. I've had it running for less than a day. Thanks for the hard work! I'll post if any issues arise.
A few questions:
1. Is there a way to set the power consumption?
2. Is there a way to have the screen lock not require the user to press the check mark after entering the pin at the block screen?
3. This a stupid question, I can't figure out how to add additional home screens.
Thanks!

I don't know about one and two, but power would be in the power settings, and quick unlock would be in security. You can hold down on the home to add more.
There might be something wrong with my install. I tried all your suggestions before I posted and I don't have any of those options, Including holding the home Upton for extra screens. Not sure if it's just a me thing. Thanks for responding to my post BTW.

PA probably doesn't have those features then, but the home should work. What home are you using?
First thing I notice is that the Theme Engine is not working. When I click on Themes, I get
Not a deal breaker, but not great.
A lot fewer tweaks than others, but that will be OK if it's more stable.
Would like to be able to modify the Navbar. Would like to be able to set system profiles. Nothing critical, mostly looks, but some efficiency as well.
It would also be nice to have the ability to change wallpaper without a reboot.

P.A is typically light when it comes to features, they want everything to feel like a seamless nexus experience and any features they do add its presented in a way where it feels like how Google will offer it if they ever happen to import such a thing.

I'm not saying it's broken, so hopefully I won't be ignored, but- after setting this up and getting it to look a lot like I wanted, I got a message that my phone wasn't rooted. Strange. So I flashed the SuperSU zip provided. I noted the message that it could take a while and not to interrupt the process. It's been about 45 minutes. That seems a bit long for this type of thing. I obviously haven't been able to flash the Bump script. My phone was rooted before this... any suggestions before I pull the battery? All I have now is a blank screen and blue/red flashing LED.
I was impatient. I pulled the battery. I got into recovery and flashed the Bump script. After a few more seconds of blank screen and flashing LED, I got the LG boot screen. Strange, no Android boot animation. Then right back to my normal screen like nothing happened. Everything seems to be working correctly. Yay me.

I'm glad you got it working. The bump script is essential. Systemless root modifies the boot.img and unbumps your device. It will not boot without the script.
