[Q] Epinter CM10.1 Questions - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For the life of me I can't remember how to 1) change the weather on lock screen to show Farenheit instead of Celsius and also, 2) how to keep screen on when charging.
Can someone remind me how to do this on this ROM please?

For # 1 you were dead on. For #2 I only see timer intervals, I do not see one for stay on while charging.

You can install the new version of the clock, it's called chronus and has more customization options

Not sure, but inside cm settings there aren't any option to do that? Or you can activate daydreams

Hi everybody !
I have 2 problems with Epinter ROM actually (it's an amazing ROM by the way !!).
First, in the e-mail app, when I want to switch between my accounts with the drop down button, the app crash automatically (I had to install Gmail instead...).
Then, I just realised that calls don't work in another country. I just moved country and I can't call or receive any call from anybody (it worked in my country). Only the messages work and I absolutely have to make calls
I'm pretty sure that the problem comes from the ROM (or the kernel-2014_03_21_23_51_cm10_1), because I had the Neutrino 3.02 before, and I never had this problem.
Thank you in advance !

So to summarize - you're running an alpha-stage experimental ROM, and then you complain you have problems you didn't used to have on a stable ROM.
Clearly you either didn't know it's an alpha-stage ROM (in which case you should have done much more reading before any kind of flashing), or you don't know what "alpha-stage" means and who it is intended for.
If you want full functionality, stay away from any 4.0+ ROM. This has been clearly stated countless times in dozens of threads.

Well ok... Where do you see that I complain... ? I just ask if somebody had this kind of problem and resolved it... Is it wrong ?

It just comes off as complaining. Sorry if I misunderstood. Still, like I said, this is an experimental ROM, it changes almost every day (the kernel does anyway), there are countless variations of it (based on what kernel you're using), so it is probably too volatile and unstable for anyone to give you any usable advice.

Yeah maybe it seemed to be a complaint because it's when you need something there is always a problem (moreover, I'm not a native English speaker as you've probably seen).
I understand perfectly that I'm running an alpha ROM, and by the way, I was surprised to see how it works good ! I just wondered if I missed any option which could solve my problem.
Anyway, thanks for the answer ravilov and congrats to the developers :cyclops:

Hi. I'm also running 10.1 with kernel from 03.27 (recently updated) and experienced some lag in flappy bird. I know it is not a big deal (unless you bet with your friends on better score but i did not have this issue on topsmart 2.3.7. I used to have a kernel from the 10.1 rom from december an that combiation also had this issue. Do you have any information why is it lagging? To be mosre precise, i experience the lag when tapping the screen. Sometimes the game is stuck even for about 1-1,5 sec. Your ideas are much appreciated!

Its that awesome thing that was just discussed above yours. ANY 4.0+ ROM with 3.1.10 kernel is ALPHA STAGE, meaning EXPERIMENTAL and has bugs, not necessarily intended for daily use (NOTE: I've said this before, the kernel is nearly at an official Beta Stage, so that daily use part is the general advice, not necessarily the case with us). If Flappy Birds, which is a game and not an absolute necessity for our device to work properly, is an issue or a "I gotta have it" type thing, downgrade back to stock.

He's right, but for the record, flappy bird runs perfectly on atrICS, as always has, despite the kernel version

I never got caught up in the popularity of that game, so I will say that I did not know that.

CyanogenMod9 on GT-i9100

Hi everybody from tapatalk. Recently I have installed the last Nightly Builds from cyanogenmod9, and when i unlock the screen, automaticaly the screen turn on aigan! I have testet all of options on settings, and I found nothing about it.
Someone know the solution?

same here, and when i dial a no. the phone restarts....this was my first try...n m highly disappointed...i think cynagon is just an over hyped mod n nothing more than tha....
without codeworkx and his team's work you wont have ANY aosp roms
did you undervolt or chagned cpu settings?
or maybe its a app u installed thats overloading the phone
one more thing
cm9 is in nightly phase you cant complain on that
edit: looks like a recent patched messed the build
it is due a fix in time
I tried custom roms for the 1st time yesterday and have to add I am a bit disapointed in CM9. Utmost respect to the creators and the effort they are putting into this.
Here is my list of Issues.
1. No task manager
2. No file explorer (IO on the Play store is ok but not close to the original with works best)
3. Contacts look a bit meh
4. No sliding on contacts
5. No Samsung Dive support
6. The kb is way to small and with my big hands i keep on pressing the wrong keys
7. When I phoned myself from a other number there was no voice coming through on either end
8. .... Uninstalled
There are still a lot of work needed on CM9 from what I could tell and using the latest Nightly build was probably not the right thing to do. Nightly build was from yesterday.
This is in no way to reflect negatively on anyone but just my person opinion and what I experienced
Your personal opinion is bit flawed....
Forget about Samsung stuff and way things work In aosp.
So slide to call that's touch wiz.
Keyboard is Android, not cm9 scad works pretty well you have to get use to it.
If it was your first time flashing than I say please do a full wipe, including formatting system.
Cm9 is very capable of daily driver without any major issues.
Don't get me wrong. It looks awesome. And its very quick and stable from what i could see.
Thats just my personal preference. No point in being rooted if you cant get to the files. CM9 with the default File Explorer would have made it a very different story for me. Task manager is also somewhat a very nice to have cause I install and uninstall a lot of apps on a daily basis and without it is just meh.
It all boils down to personal preference.
left touchwiz for months and dont miss it at all

Contacts look just fine and work just fine.
You have ics task manager
File explorer is not bulletin in aosp, just put one that you use.
Calling and receiving works just fine too.
You certainly have issues with the flash, reflash after full wipe
Full wipe = format cache, data, system, internal storage, dalvik
Try another ROM
There are tons of different ROMs out there. I've tried all sorts but never a CM9 nightly because they warn you it might be broken and tell you not to complain about it.
Try something else and download a decent task manager. A lot of ROMs have one built in but I always revert to ES File Explorer.
It's all about testing and finding out what's right for you. You can always go back to TouchWiz if you want.

No, i dont change any CPU configuratin, and I dont know how to undervolt or overvolt CPU. I'm using Siyah Kernel 3.2.5 (released recently). There's something in ExTweaks to fix my problem?

there is a voltage menu
use the values from kernel test thread
for the phone issue wipe the data from contacts and dialer
You'd receive better support if you posted your query to the CM9 Discussion thread. ;p

Has anyone found a way to enable boot animation sounds on cyanogenmod9? I have read everything I can and have tried everything I have read but still cannot get this to work.
cm9 wallpapers
hi guys!
i'm using cm9 stable and i think is very smooth and fast and looks good too.
i have a question.
i want to remove the static wallpaper, not the live w. or cm9 wallpaper, but the stock wallpapers in 4.0.4 firmware.
but i can't find them using RootExplorer or TB.
can someone help me to find out?
thanks a lot
I've flashed CM9 on my S2 & its very stable & I seem to like almost everything EXCEPT Battery.
It discharges very fast. I end up charging daily.
I browse internet on wifi like for about an hour in a day & the rest of the time I explore the phone settings/features for a couple of minutes.
Voice calls - about 30-45min a day.

How to use the CPU voltage settings ?
How do I know which one is best for my phone ?
The Governers seem to be self explanatory & also when choosing a governer from the menu the CPU Max/min changes accordingly.
But I would like to know the technical details.

Fast boot..which I've come to expect from almost all slim builds.
Been awhile since I used slim..forgot about the DPI difference. Might be worth noting in the op.
No theme support..again, been awhile..lol
Super Smooth transitions, fast responsive browser
I think I would run this as a daily..just from initial look. But I must have theme support and I would also have to change the DPI..but that would be easy enough.
All in all..nice build. I'll stick around and see how it develops..but for right now I'm going to give you're aokp a swing.:good:

I was thinking of changing the dpi from 182 to 210 but wasn't sure if users would want that, so I'll make a note of it in the op. thanks for the tip. i honestly don't think any slim builds will get theme engine, users have been requesting that for ages and hasn't happened.

+1 what peterson65 said. the way i do it is via "root explorer" (the app) navigate to system change permission to r/w open up build.prop and look for "ro.sf.lcd_density=182" and just change 182 to what ever like (320 is stock), save after making the edit and reboot to see it the change sticks.

Hey, I flashed this ROM today. Very nice looking and feeling, but I'm having one major issue. When I go to unlock my phone (hit the power button to turn the screen on), the screen doesn't turn on. The button is working. The capacitive buttons under the screen light up, but the actual screen doesn't turn on. I have to hit the power button 2-5 more times.
Anyone know what is up and how to fix it?

you need to use an app to raise cpu speeds this rom doesn't have that feature built in, I'm using "setcpu". what do you mean not compatible? i just installed it fine, if you obtained it from gapps that might be why.

Installing SetCPU now. I'll let you know if that works. For Hangouts, it wasn't in Gapps. I'm trying to get it from play store, but it says incompatible.

Cleared Store data. Same thing. Also tells me it's incompatible when I check from the desktop web Play Store.
Also, I don't seem to have root? I thought that any custom ROM would automatically have root access. What do I need to do to get Root so I can use SetCPU?
Thanks for all the help!
Thank you so much for continuing to build for our notes. Appreciate it very much! I love my note, and hate to give it up. . Be a few days before I'm able to load this, but when I do....

Some bugs I've noticed:
Locking/Rotating the screen results in a hatchy pattern of black pixels

The keyboard didnt work for me by default, I had to check to some really obscure option in settings for it to work(This problem might just be limited to me though)
I'm just amazed we got Lollipop at all, and I know things can only get smoother and less buggy from here. Thanks sbrissen!
Going to give it a try and will let you know how it works.
This may come across as a stupid question but are you referring to a kitkat compatible recovery like the latest Philz or latest CWM or an actual "kitkat" recovery?
Thanks in advance.

Wow... lolly pop is super smooth. Like butter. I had an issue with getting the keyboard to pop up at first. The camera only works in selfy mode and crashed when I tried video. I also live in central Pennsylvania so after I sent one text, it wouldn't send anymore. That can be fixed though on my end, I think. I also couldn't hang up on a call. All in all though great start.
Will lollypop get the theme engine like CM? I think that was the only thing I would miss in it.

I installed with twrp 2.8.1.0. Could not get keyboard either. Had to go into language and input and turn on hardware keyboard. That made the keyboard start popping up. I'm also getting the black pixels during screen rotation. So far it looks like there's no way to disable the capacitive button lights either
Pretty darn awesome that this is out though! Thank you so much
Only big bug I have encounter in an hour or so of playing around is that it cannot connect to the rear camera, only front facing, as glockman4519 stated. And also the keyboard bug, but that's only on the first boot so far.

Found another bug, or maybe I'm just dumb, but I cannot get the heads-up notifications to do anything. When you have the screen on and you get a text or a phone call, the notification will pop up along the top, and I can only swipe them away. I cannot tap them to open the app, I cannot press the 'answer' or 'ignore' buttons that pop up on the phone call notification. I tried tapping, double tapping, swiping up. Nothing. I can only dismiss the notification by swiping left or right.
Anybody else experiencing this? Or am I doing something wrong?

Still no keyboard for me. I didn't see any option to "turn on hardware keyboard". When I clicked on the item under "hardware keyboard", it popped up a window saying "configure keyboard input method" or something like that. I configured one, and then hit the back button till I got back to my home screen, but still couldn't get a keyboard to pop up. I'm using Nova launcher, if that makes any difference. And trying to use Hacker's Keyboard....

On a separate note, I noticed I wasn't able to send or receive MMS, which lead me to investigate, and I do not have any mobile data. Phone calls and SMS work fine, though.

Weird, I don't remember seeing that toggle. I'll re-backup my current cm11 and restore to cm12, see if I can't find it. Thanks.
Ah, yes, there it is! And it's working fine, now! Woo woo!
Some people were saying the back-facing camera wasn't working. It seems to be working for me.
But GPS definitely wasn't working... so here I go back to cm11

I couldn't get the main camera to work. The front, or the one used to take selfys is the one that comes on by default. And there was no way to turn the camera around. This was on my phone and your mileage may differ though.
Give it some time though as this is the early release and will have bugs. I have to say again though that the smoothness of this rom is unreal.
Tried everything, verified md5, wiped it raw, tried newest Philz and TWRP. Cannot get this bad boy to boot. Just bootloops over and over again. Sigh.. This build don't like my phone.
pixelation during rotation is fixed, it was some legacy graphic code that got merged that fixed it. Working on stabalizing ril, gps, and some other fixes.

ROM is built from current LS source and uses the CM Themes engine. I have another build using RRO Layers but frankly speaking RRO layers is sketchy at best IMHO and not yet ready for prime time without serious refinement. I built this as a hobby project because the SMT-900 has been sadly neglected by devs and because I'm a diehard LiquidSmooth fan. I hope you like it as much as I do. None of this would be possible without the time spent, hard work and dedication of the following devs:

I tried an alpha build of this about 6 months ago and I found it very impressive, notably with the built in Adiutor, with a 10% less footprint than CM. However, at the time I couldn't get my SD card to work, why I had to abandon. But, I will definitely try it now when it's up as a beta. I have really high hopes for the potential of this ROM./arc
It booted up smoothly, supersu and adiutor are pre-installed as system apps, proceeding installing Xposed and all my software (+4GB)...
Everything seems to run very smooth and the unit is very responsive. I will play around with adiutor a little, trying to find some optimal settings.
Thank you very much for bringing this up.

My fault,I had forgotten it was a system app.
Rom is working great & it's flying! So far, everything I've tried works well.
Is there a way to fix the 3 second delay when waking the device?

I was just wondering the same thing about the wake-up delay.
Also, the Kernel Adiutor seems limited to view settings, am I doing something wrong?

Kernel auditor seems to be working fine for me.
Update : I raised the minimum frequency to 300MHz & that helped the delay with waking the device.

Sure, you just click the 3 line menu in the upper left, click on CPU, & three columns will appear. Touch where it says cpu minimum frequency in the left column & all frequencies will appear. Than you click the one you want to use. I hope this is what you're looking for. If not, let me know.
Great nickster, many thanks, I will try it once I'm back on the ROM, currently I'm trying out the SlimLP. What app are you using to tweak the CPU is that one?

Hows the battery life on this? I am currently on the CM 5.1.1 and it isn't so great (since 5.1).
Also, does one need to update the firmware before proceeding? I would assume so.

I don't think it matters what firmware you're on actually. Battery life is the same as it is on cm which for me has been pretty good.
Can anyone confirm if Citrix Receiver works on this ROM?
Thanks

Tablet freezing
I have an app that is causing this ROM to freeze. It is Nascar's mobile Raceview app. The app is VERY graphic intensive in that it use GPS to track the position of 43 race cars on the track and display full color animation of the cars during a race. You can choose any one of the 43 cars and zoom in on its image and follow it and the cars close to it around the track. And you can also change to pont from which you are viewing the cars. Almost as if you had a drone with a tilt and zoom camera.
My question is, is there anything I can do in the settings to keep it from freezing? I've used the app on tablets with far less capacity than the Tab Pro without any problems. And i've used it with other ROMs on this tablet without problems.

Flashed a while ago as soon as it popped up on AFH. Really liking it so far, pure AOSP with few usueful PA features like peek, immersive mode, etc. Doesn't feel bloated with customizations like other roms. Can't comment on battery life yet obviously. No crashes or bootloops in this short time, and performance is reallyyyy nice. Awesome job, really appreciate this rom.

So far so good. I've had it running for less than a day. Thanks for the hard work! I'll post if any issues arise.
A few questions:
1. Is there a way to set the power consumption?
2. Is there a way to have the screen lock not require the user to press the check mark after entering the pin at the block screen?
3. This a stupid question, I can't figure out how to add additional home screens.
Thanks!

I don't know about one and two, but power would be in the power settings, and quick unlock would be in security. You can hold down on the home to add more.
There might be something wrong with my install. I tried all your suggestions before I posted and I don't have any of those options, Including holding the home Upton for extra screens. Not sure if it's just a me thing. Thanks for responding to my post BTW.

PA probably doesn't have those features then, but the home should work. What home are you using?
First thing I notice is that the Theme Engine is not working. When I click on Themes, I get
Not a deal breaker, but not great.
A lot fewer tweaks than others, but that will be OK if it's more stable.
Would like to be able to modify the Navbar. Would like to be able to set system profiles. Nothing critical, mostly looks, but some efficiency as well.
It would also be nice to have the ability to change wallpaper without a reboot.

P.A is typically light when it comes to features, they want everything to feel like a seamless nexus experience and any features they do add its presented in a way where it feels like how Google will offer it if they ever happen to import such a thing.

I'm not saying it's broken, so hopefully I won't be ignored, but- after setting this up and getting it to look a lot like I wanted, I got a message that my phone wasn't rooted. Strange. So I flashed the SuperSU zip provided. I noted the message that it could take a while and not to interrupt the process. It's been about 45 minutes. That seems a bit long for this type of thing. I obviously haven't been able to flash the Bump script. My phone was rooted before this... any suggestions before I pull the battery? All I have now is a blank screen and blue/red flashing LED.
I was impatient. I pulled the battery. I got into recovery and flashed the Bump script. After a few more seconds of blank screen and flashing LED, I got the LG boot screen. Strange, no Android boot animation. Then right back to my normal screen like nothing happened. Everything seems to be working correctly. Yay me.

I'm glad you got it working. The bump script is essential. Systemless root modifies the boot.img and unbumps your device. It will not boot without the script.
