I recently moved to a Custom ROM and now I'm living freely. Just one thing I miss from back in TouchWIZ is the music player. I loved the 'Share via Bluetooth' option to play the songs via my car stereo system using Bluetooth. Does anyone here know of any application that supports the same thing? It'd be good if there could be any. Thank you.

Hello Folks,
This is a problem that I had on the venerable HTC Touch Pro, and hoped I wouldn't have an issue with an HTC android phone - but have been sorely disappointed.
I've been trying to find a quality media player for audiobooks - but any media player I've tried has questionable bluetooth performance at best. Sometimes I'll be able to control playback via A2DP for a while - but eventually I'll find that pressing the button on my headset will kick off the stock HTC Music player and NOT the software I'm using.
I've tried removing the Music widget, and changing settings in the music player, clearing data - etc.
How can I prevent the stock music player from hogging the A2DP connection? To be honest - the only grief I have with the stock player is that if I use a lot of other apps at one time, the music player will lose it's spot within a file. Which is a pain for audiobooks. I'd greatly appreaciate any help.
Well - I never found a solution, but I have found a good work around that seems to fix the major issue I had.
I got rid of the music widget, and cleared out all data from the app. Then added a wav file that was just one second of silence. I created a new playlist - and added only that wav file. I played the playlist, then closed out of the app.
Now - I use Akimbo for audiobooks and enabled the bluetooth controls. This way, Akimbo responds to the A2DP controls as I wish - and I suspect the music player does so as well. But the Music player plays 1 second of silence and then stops.
It's not the most elegant of solutions - but it works. I can fully control Akimbo via my headset and don't have to worry that the Music player would play over it.

Nice find, looks good so far. I haven't found a music player that I really liked yet, hopefully this is the one.

Click to collapse
Player Pro does this.
Agreed +1 on player pro (current player with sense skin)
Also use the folder option as well...so that option won me over entirely
I think there is like one more player that offers a folder option (trust me I went through them ALL) but cant think of it to save my life...might of been miui player??? idk?? dont hold me to it...
I think Mixing had folder option as well. I started using Player Pro a couple years ago and never looked back.
It's good but i prefer poweramp

It has a nice interface, but messing with the EQ too much causes it to hang. And if music is playing, you can't control it in any way, the only solution is to force close the app.
I usually just use Amazon MP3 to play music. The stock Blur player leaves a lot to be desired, and Google Music doesn't (seem to?) differentiate between cloud and local playback. With Amazon MP3 it's real easy. Plus, I buy music from them and I've ripped and uploaded my CDs to their cloud (and to Google's, it's nice to have options, heh). It isn't a great player, but it's reliable. And while I enjoy music, I don't play it on my phone often enough to need a fancy player.
But, thanks for the link, it was fun to try out.
I've noticed that all the main features of any music playing on this phone (sharing to other devices, playing with voice commands from S Voice) all use the Samsung Stock music player. (which is actually very good... but I have 100 Gb of music that's all in the cloud, no way I'm gonna fit that actually ON my phone)
Is there any way to get S Voice or the phone in general to consider Google Play Music as the default music player? I can OPEN it with S Voice... but I still have to mess around with the screen. Not much use if I'm driving.
Also, is there anyway to share music from the google one to things like the wireless receiver they brought out? I know you can from the Sammy Music & Video players but wonder if you can from others.
Cheers!
Hello all, I was wondering if there was a rom that I could put on my xt912 to make it strictly an mp3 player, I want no other functions on it. Basically an ipod but a razr instead seeing as I have no other uses for it. Any info would be appreicated
If the phone is rooted, you can just delete all apps you don't want or need. I believe you still need a ROM on there. Doesn't have to be a custom rom, stock should work. I would delete email, and all other apps, just leave the play store and a music player or Spotify. If you get Wi-Fi, it is better than an iPod because you don't need iTunes. Can download music from anywhere.
I am having a moto e, rooted and installed cyanogenmod 13 on it. I want to use this phone as a music player only. Want to have something like , when i turn on the phone, only the music player is opened, no homescreen, nothing else etc. just start the phone , you start a music player, lock the screen. Unlock it, and you will just see the music player only, no navigation. Can you develop something like that. Put music to it using usb connection to pc, and listen to it on the phone, like a music player.
Thanks in advance, anything linking to such thing is appreciated.
Regards
Arun
