Not sure if anybody else has had this issue, but I have Auto-Sync turned off, and have it set to NOT backup Pictures, Videos, Music, or Documents. However, Backup Assistant Plus still gives me a notification every ten minutes or so saying it's "Synchronizing [Pictures, Videos, Music, or Documents". Anybody know of a solution? It doesn't seem like I'm able to disable it from the application manager. Thanks guys.

Wrong thread but you can disable it. Go into apps and you'll see a disable button once you click one ba assistant

Can confirm that this does not solve the problem. Switched everything off and it still pops up "syncing photos/videos/documents" periodically. annoying.
Can anybody find a solution for this? It now not only shows up every few minutes saying it's synchronizing, but every time I upload a picture it says auto-upload complete. I have already gone through and completely disabled Backup Assistant Plus, and it is set to not synchronize anything.

Hello all,
Its getting very annoying: everytime I pinch out on the homescreen to get to the homescreen selection section, a voice is saying some stuff I cant even understand, even in silent mode. Its getting me sick!
How can I disable it? Looked for it everywhere! Someone has a clue?
Thanks in advance.
Am I the only one with this problem? No one else?
I dont have any sounds when pinching on the homescreen.

Me either as far as I know your not meant to get any either?
Have you added an app as an accessibility service? Maybe Lightflow or Tasker? You can either remove those apps as accessibility services or you could use another launcher. This is a known bug which doesn't really have a perfect solution yet.

I had the same issue yesterday and i solved it
At first i thought it was driving mode(since that reads out things while you drive) then i checked accessibility settings and i disabled talk back(i think).....but that still didnt work.
Found out its lightflow....Has something to do with the app.I think you can disable it but i just removed the app completely and the voices stop
I'm still waiting for my s3 so can't check whether that does the trick or not but the developer of Missed It! said to check that both Talkback and Install Web Script (both in Accessibility settings) are set to off

I've had this problem too and I don't have Lightflow installed. For me, the solution was to go to Settings, Accessibility and under Services turn off 'Addons Detector' which I had installed.
So, perhaps it's anything installed in the Services section causes the problem. A bug perhaps?
Yesterday I installed Captivating(Xperia Themed)[Milestone 4] on my i777, and love it so far. I have one problem with Facebook notifications. This phone is used for work, so I have not had any FB notifications on it for over a year with approx. 10 different roms that I have tried out. Everytime I have had no problems making sure that the FB did not notify me for anything. Well I am getting them now for stuff even with the options taken off in the app. I have checked all other options in Xperia as well and nothing will stop them. I tried un-installing and re-installing and restarting but nothing is working. Is there a hidden setting somewhere in the Captivating Rom that I dont know about? Any help would be great.

my phone specs are on the attached pic. Nevermind, I am too new with no posts so no outside links....

Everything you need is right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2155732
sephhi has pictures , and descriptions mentioning facebook is integrated in that them! so figuring out a way to turn it off means asking yourself:
Is Sync On? How many places are there for turning sync on/off
What is under account management?
Is there a setting somewhere in the theme that overrides all the other setting inside the app?
I did a search in the original thread with nothing found there. I then broadened the search to q&a and then all of the i777 forums. I have disabled Facebook from syncing in the app and also in accounts. I have spent hours in every setting looking and there is no other Facebook setting. That is why I am asking if anyone else has had this problem. If not I'll re flash the ROM and start over.

I'm not using that ROM, I'm using CM 10.1, but I would assume this feature exists in most/all JB ROMS...
Have you tried turning off "Show Notifications" in the App info setting?

I have disabled both the facebook app notifications and the actual facebook settings as well. I also have disabled sync in the android settings in accounts as well with no luck...
Installed the RC2 update and so far no notifications for FB! I am a happy camper again.
Hi all. Does anybody know how to fix this issue? It's driving my girl crazy.
She gets a picture MMS, views it, and then hits the 'back' button to go back to her messages. But instead of going back to her messages, it opens the Gallery! WTF? LOL
She says it's been doing it since the most recent update, but I remember her talking about this months ago. So I think it may have been the first update.
Can anyone help with suggestions? She's on the Stock ROM.
Thanks!

Questions should go in the Q&A forum. I would think that somewhere along the way when your gf chose to open a pic in mms...The S4 asked her what app to use and if to use only once.. I suspect this now the default and I'm not sure how to reset the default.

Sorry about the wrong forum. I realized that a few minutes after I posted.
Ahh, good call. Maybe if I go to Manage Apps and clear data in either Gallery or Messages, it'll fix the problem. The question then is will she lose her texts or photos in doing that?

Hi,
I just got a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 recently and am having problems with push notifications for apps such as Whatsapp, Facebook messenger, LINE and so on. I have spent hours trying all the suggestions out there multiple times as to how to fix it but it still doesn't work. This includes:
1: Disable power saving mode.
2: Disable 'destroy activity' function.
3: Check Notification settings
4: Setup notifications for each App in settings.
5: Ensure app has notifications enabled.
6: Enable Autostart
7: Disable data saver and enable dual data on all apps.
8: Commit apps to memory.
9: Customise power saving settings.
Even after doing all this, I am still unable to receive messages and calls from apps in real time. I use another phone of mine to call myself literally 5 seconds after closing the app and still my Xiaomi phone does not register the call until I manually open the app and get a missed call.
Can someone please help me with this. Thanks.
I enabled Autostart for all the messaging apps and apps i need to run in the background and everything is working great for me.
I get calls from whatsapp all the time and everything working great.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I have literally every single app enabled for Autostart just in case but still don't receive anything until I open the app manually. Tried reinstalling the apps and rebooting multiple times too.
With what apps you are having this problem? Me for example I don't have any problem with whatsapp but with Skype sometimes I don't get notifications because miui kills the process in the background which is very annoying.
I hope xiaomi will fix it in miui 9 (if we'll ever get this update on our rn4 anyway).

I tried the steps in this guide and everything is working for me. It was mainly gmail that wasnt notifying of new mails unless I opened the app itself.

It works sometimes for Whatsapp and LINE but only sometimes, which doesn't make any sense. I'll get a notification for a message normally once and then won't get anything for awhile and be bombarded with missed messages when I open the app manually again. Doesn't seem to ever work for Gmail or Facebook messenger.

have you tried going to developer settings and disable "MIUI Optimizations" ?
For WhatsApp I just go to recents and lock the app.

Welcome to MIUI notification problems...
I sure wish I had of read about these problems before I bought this piece of **** redmi. There literally is nothing that fixes it.
I have the Google Photos app set to be managed manually in power settings but the pictures still do not sync when I take them with the camera. I need to manually open the app to get the sync to start.
Ive been reading around and it seems on other phones modifying this option fixes the issues, but not on the mate 20 pro.
Is anyone else experiencing the same?
Same problem as you. Still there on Android 10 beta.

Damn, was hoping Android 10 would fix this issue. I wonder why its happening, turning off the battery saver features allows all my other apps to function in the background.
I think it's an app issue, it's also happening on other devices of mine such as Xiaomi. At some point I'll try rolling back to an earlier version of the app and see if it's working.
You all obviously didn't get the memo or notification that Google photo no longer backups automatically.
This might help..

This is not related to what we are talking about, we're not worried about anything to do with google drive. Just the Photos application auto-syncing in the background - works on some phones and not others.
