hello i just found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1714354, it look like is the international GS3 version, so could we expect something like this for US versions soon, also US version could be using the same or every single carrier could have them own.

Hey !
I'm loving my 10.1v but as this tab's owners will tell you, we are not well treated by Samsung and/or Vodafone and have to rely on xda to get up-to-date ROMS.
ROMS are not many, two or three mainly...not that we need much more but you can tell it will never be a much-filled section. Unless...
...I was wondering if there is any way to work on a 10.1 ROMS compatibility. To be more specific (and I'm asking to devs here, or people skilled in the dev field) : what is exactly needed to make that compatibility come true, if that is possible in any way ?
Our two or three ROMS are based on P7500XXKG7 and P7500XWKHD ROMS. I would love to know what is needed to port those ROMS and how could we turn this in an automated process in order to allow 10.1 to 10.1v compatibiliy...
I may be dreaming here but hey, I have an HTC HD2 as a daily phone, so to me, everything is possible...
Hi,
I'm looking into getting a Galaxy S2 at the end of the month when my upgrade comes due.
I'm currently using an HTC Legend, which has been brilliant, especially since I rooted it. One thing I did find was that due to hboot version on the legend it was impossible for me to get "S-OFF" - I originally thought this s-on s-off thing was common to all android phones but having searched all the hits I get are HTC.
What I would like to know is if there is anything similar under a different name on the Galaxy S2 / Samsung phones that I need to be aware of? or is it just a case of rooting it to get full control?
Many thanks guys
insanimal
Its comes with unlocked bootloader(s-off in htc)
Their are many variants like i9100,i9100G,i777,etc
Make sure you get i9100 international then you are able to use every rom here
Brilliant, thanks I didn't realise they meant the same thing.
Also thanks for mentioning the different versions of the hardware! I've just had a look and I guess as I'll be getting it direct from Vodafone UK I should be alright.

Hello everybody,
I am new to this forum (props to all for their contributions). I just wanted to know whether there is a chance that the Galaxy Players (I have a GP5) will have an official update to ICS ? I've looked everywhere (Samsung HP, google), I can't find any information about it.
Does anyone here knows anything ?
(Sorry, in case that I'm not in the right forum group)

there is an ICS release in the development section, just look at the CM9 or AOKP threads, those roms are both ICS based.
Very unlikely that there will be an official ICS upgrade. Samsung is having a hard enough time updating their flagship devices like the Galaxy Note, and they've already said the original Galaxy S will not be getting ICS. The Galaxy Player 5.0 is essentially a 5 inch Galaxy S (same cpu/ram) so i doubt it will ever come.
Yeah man... as the other users have said, no chance of original ICS for our player. I imagine even the new Galaxy Player plus won't receive it. I've been using android for a long time on many devices and android atualizations are a pain. Fortunately, we have XDA. =p
There is nothing official from Samsung - though they have said that there is no room in ROM for ICS and Touch Wiz and Samsung seems to be intent on not losing Touch Wiz. Most would have no problem losing Touch Wiz and Samsung is making a wrong decision not to support these relatively new units with updates.
At this point if you want ICS you will have to rely upon a ROM from a site like this. The last thread that I saw here about the ICS ROM for the 5.0 was that it was still in development - there is a beta that is being troubleshooted as there were features that were not working yet.
Hey all. I searched for an answer to this question, but haven't really found a solid answer. And i'd like to know before doing something that might mess up my new delicious Galaxy Note.
So I just got a T-Mobile Note yesterday (T879) and I rooted it. But when I looked in the T-Mobile dev section, it was pretty sparse. Then I saw that the AT&T and International ones had so much more content.
So, are the ROMS made for the other Notes compatible with the T-Mobile Note? By compatible, I mean, 1) they won't brick my phone, 2) my radios and HSPA+ will still work, 3) generally stable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You can use +any+ roms in this development section. Some of the roms will make your phone run super slow, but I don't know which ones.
You can use the Canadian roms, but they make the phone real laggy too.
You can use the N7005 rom. Its the internatiinal version of our model.
You can't flash any roms or apk's from the international note N7000 -- that will hard brick your phone.
Hi,
So I have been a member of this forum since I had my first HTC phone (the Inspire). Recently (maybe a year or so ago?) I got my HTC One X+ (AT&T) and I was looking forward to custom ROMs since there were numerous problems with them on my Inspire (look at my past posts). I am running Elegancia 5.2.0 which is still based on the 4.1.1 Jellybean. I want to move to a custom ROM with a 4.2.2 base, but the only things I find are international versions of the ROMs. Have developers completely just forgotten the AT&T/ Telus versions of the phone? Why is no one developing ROMs for both versions of the phone anymore? Is there anyone that is working on an updated ROM for the AT&T/ Telus version? I understand that developers are dedicating their time to produce these ROMs, but why has the other version of the phone just become completely forgotten?
Sorry for the rant, but I had to get this off since it has gotten agonizing not being able to run the newest Android OS with a custom ROM since no one produces anything else except international versions. Thanks for reading.

If on anyone blame it on AT&T. They have not released to us the 4.2.2 update. Devs are always with us and still developing amazing pieces of work... you just have to read to see.

All the problems can pretty much be blamed on the carriers almost exclusively. There are devs who would make a updated rom if they had the source. As for porting international ROMs over, as was common practice for the Inspire 4G and Desire HD, there are apparently hardware issues that come up that devs either can't fix, or just don't want to spend unneeded time trying to get working. (Like LTE)
In short, yell at ATT and/or Google and the manufactures for allowing carriers to hold up updates to fill it with crapware.

Thanks for explaining it to me guys. It just is annoying me to death.
i have also bought a htc one x+ instead htc one x international version (even though both were of same price).. didnt see the development ratio 1st and now i m regretting my purchase...
nothing much to test/play arround only elegancia and venom XL :crying:
Yeah, from what I understand it's got a lot to do with the hardware. Seems very few phones are using the tegras, etc. and as a result very few devs end up with the device...basically, it's just much easier to develop for the more standardized hardware so those are the devices the devs gravitate to. Add on to that very small number of devs that there's no s-off, no 4.2.2 update, etc. and you have your reason.
I was also hoping to have more to play around with on this phone, but unfortunately that seems highly unlikely. As time goes on we'll probably see less development and fewer devs rather than the other way around.
It's not forgotten about
