which touchwiz ver should I take widgets from for cm9? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First of all I'm a noob so please excuse what may seem like a simple question. I recently rooted and flashed cm9 on my SGS2 I9100G but miss some stock apps. So while looking for said apps I see versions for tw3, tw4, tw4.5, and tw5 (that's the sgs3 nature ux I believe). So which versions do I need? Do the versions correspond to android upgrades or not? If anybody knows which of these has widgets that will work (preferably the latest ones) on my cm9 sgs2 would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

The versions do correspond to the android os. Cm9 is ICS, so unless I'm mistaken, your going to want to pull the widgets from tw5. I'd wait for one other verification of that just to be sure. Hope i helped

[Q] is there any vannilla 3.2 rom for p7500?

Hi friends, i m looking for a vannilla honeycomb for p7500 3g model. I just want to try the pure google experience of honeycomb because somehow i think that touchwiz is not that good. Another thing is i like black menus of vannilla honeycomb over touchwiz's white menus.
And i guess vannilla honecomb is smoother and faster than stock touchwiz. What are your thoughts about this friends?
And guys please let me know if anyone has link to download vannilla honeycomb. Thanks.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
AFAIK it is not available
There is no vanilla HC available because the source code hadn't been available for a long time. Now everybody is working on ICS. So I suggest to leave HC out and wait for ICS.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 and ICS Galaxy Note Apps. [REQ] Please. =D

I'm looking to find/build a compehensive .rar or .zip of all of the leaked apps for the Note (that work on our note) and the Galaxy SIII apps.
I've looked far and far again to find out what works, but some claim to work right out of the box, and some supposedly work better than others. So. If you have them available...please post a link to whichever thread contains the app that you've found to be the best.
I'm looking for things like:
Wallpapers
Ringtones
Notification Sounds
Other Sounds
Accuweather
Accuweather Widgets
S Memo (or S Planner....i can't remember which one was the latest one).
S Voice
Video Editor
Gamehub
S Suggest
Flipboard
Crayon Physics
**If i missed any, let us know! But more importantly, YELL at me!
The goal is to throw all of the ones that work with the note together into a .zip or CWM flashable.
**I'm aware of phMod...but those require, and only work with certain roms.**
Lets get these together please! Without us working together, we'll all be running different versions of these apps.
It would be a huuuuugggeee help to the community if you can post where you found the app your using, or the file itself if it's already available for download in multiple places. If it's unmodified, there's no need to fret soo much since we can all pull them from a stock Note or SIII ROM.
Unless your version is better, or different, please don't post dupicate apps.
=D Lets make something nice for us all, because traveling to 10 different threads to find apps that may, or may not be the best version available is not good for any of us.
I too would enjoy a zipped CWM flash able file. I would have flashed phMod but I don't want TW as my launcher.

I don't mind touchwiz...but for those of who rum CM9 or other non-compatible ROMs (i'm sure it's a big portion of us), or for those who'd like to manage our applications, it'd be nice to just have the apk's and other necessary files in one place.

ICS GalaxyS2 looks different than previews - why?

Hi, I just upgraded to ICS and I noticed that many of the new changes in ICS are not available or look different on GalaxyS2. Is this because of Touchwiz?
I also tried swiping along to get to the "widget" area, to no avail.
Also, I tried pinning a calender widget to one of my home screens, but it doesn't have the updated Google widget. It just has the Agenda widget. It has the "contacts" widget that looks like the updated ICS google version, but no cal.
What's up with this?
I'm new to Android so my apologies if these are no brainer questions.
Thanks!
Are you sure it actually updated? Go into Settings/About Phone and under "Android Version" what does it say? If it doesn't say 4.x.x then it didn't actually do the upgrade. Otherwise...IDK. lol

Lol...well i could say Google touchwiz, but not sure you would. The reason its different is because Samsung puts their own launcher on their phone that customized the look and feel of the phone and creates their vision of what your phone should look like. In short most around here agrees it sucks. If you want a more traditional look either download a new launcher like nova or start learning how to instal custom rooms.
Everyone get ready for a flood of these kinds of threads. Now we get to play clean up as the masses that for some ungodly reason updated via kies instead of downloading a cwm zip. Or waiting. Or not upgrading at all. I wouldn't care except now there's gonna be 50 bajillon new threads. Sigh.

Hah! Well I know how annoying these post can be, so thank you for the constructive responses.
I'll try out the launchers. I tried GoLauncher, but of course it's not exactly like the regular Google OS ICS ver. I 'might' try custom roms..
Thanks all.

For an ics look alike launcher you want either nova or apex in the market, both are good

Yea att, aside from putting the touchwiz skin, removed some features like nfc. Its mostly an internal upgrade although most people expected it to look something like the gnex ui

[Q] Swipe to remove notifications

Is there a way to add swipe to remove notifications feature on froyo based roms?
I know froyo is totally outdated now but there might be very few who may be still using it like me..
the code for gb was given because cm7 had it which is for gb...so they just ported the codes ...dont have a idea but froyo never used it.............

Request to Devs...

I don't know how to build a ROM but in recent days there have been releases of parts of the new ROM for the international version that work on our device like the stock/news wallpaper, TW, new Media app etc. Is it possible for someone to package these together as a CWM install?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
I just installed the updated Gallery App from it and it's pretty awesome. Touch Wiz is the best...
Assuming they read this, would it be possible for the Devs to port the SGS3's lockscreen to the Note? I know that the AllianceROM for the N7000 got it ported, but nobody else seems to be interested. I'd love to get those app shortcuts included on the Note without having to rely on something like WidgetLocker.

AOSP use this lock screen. Try CM9 or CM10 based ROMs.
