Not really sure but has to do with USB.
On one PC I couldn't finish flashing(same problem, stuck at different %) until I used USB port on the back.
On my PC I also use front USB port, and didn't have problems, maybe 1/100 times it stuck, but yesterday it was every second flash failed, until I restart my PC, even then it stuck one time, and after that, it was all ok.

Hey guys,
I have an x10i that just went dead one day, I thought it needed a software re-install so I did it. Now it wont turn on and I just get a quick green blink and a vibrate when I turn it on. Ive flashed it 10 times via sony update too and pc companion and flash tools. I dont know what to do, any help would me much appreciated.
Download SEUS from Sony and flash. Make sure it is fully charged and make sure you are using the right USB cable and try using several different USB ports on your computer if the first one doesn't work.

Thanks for the response, I have a fully charged battery and just re-flashed with still no luck. What did you mean about the "right usb cord" ?
Thanks again.
I mean reflashed with SEUS (not PC Companion) and by right USB cord, I mean the one that came with the phone. Or if you have the possibility, try another one.
Tried with 2 different usb cords and on 2 different cpus. I think Im S.O.L
One more question, after a flash how long does it take for the xperia to boot up?
During a flash with SEUS it tells you when the phone is rebooting....same with the Flashtool.
Screen turns on...still black...then Sony logo, then your bootlogo followed by desktop.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmX-IYNYqL8
Is it successfully flashing using SEUS or flashtool? Does it actually flash and then not boot? What does it say when you flahs using the flashtool?
But again, if the flashtool isn't working, you are going to have to use SEUS to get back to scratch. Run it as Admin...let it boot up and do nothing to the phone for at least 2 minutes. Do not swipe or move a thing....let it settle down.
Some of you people who ask for help really don't provide much information at all.
To me it looks like a wrong firmware problem... version you have installed isn't the same as kernel.
I would flashtool....root....turn off phone....SEUS full reflash....

When the flash finishes up it says to turn on the device and the start up may take some time, Ive let it sit for hours and still nothing. IDK what the hell is wrong with it.
K well I give up. Ive tried 3 more times using a cpu with xp and still the same thing.
If any one else has had this problem please let me know.
looks like the faulty motherboard issue to me, some users are experiencing this problem, if you have warranty get a new phone if don't then i don't know what else can you do :/
Great. I have no warenty so looks like I'm screwed.

Is there any way to fix the mother board issue ?
Dont mean to beat a dead horse but....... HELP!!!!
Friends,
I had put MIUI ROM on my Vibrant and recently thought of reverting back to the stock ROM.
So I went to download mode, selected the pit file and T959UVJFD.tar and started the process.
The process started and never progressed from caches.rfs. After waiting for an hour, I removed the cable. Now if I turn on the device, it just shows the image of a mobile device, an arrow and a computer.
I tried to flash it again. I can successfully go to download mode, Odin still recognize the device on COM port, but never flashes! Its stuck at the cache part.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was trying to flash the device from a Windows 7 machine. I did not run Odin as admin at first(forgot actually), but further attempts were using admin privileges.
Tried with Heimdall also, but nothing happened.
Please help...
easy~ ^_^ This happened to me many times, it just wouldn't flash... gets stuck at one of the sequences.
1 - take battery out [put it back in but don't power on]
2 - turn on odin
3 - Press volume +/- and plug usb cable.
4 - Try flashing again.
ps - if something still gets stuck, try a different usb port
ps2 - THERE IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT ^_^ You wont brick it. I have gotten all kinds of weird signs.
Dont Worry its happen
Anyways

Make sure you do a restart and possibly try a different USB port. I've had this happen on my PC and my Macbook Pro.
Thanks guys
Downloaded the Vibrant toolbox, reinstalled the drivers and flashed again...
Worked this time...
What a relief!
Murphy's law is with me tonight. Tomorrow, I'm meeting someone who wants to buy my xperia P so tonight I plugged out my sim-card, deleted my stuff on the sd-card and did a factory reset. When I rebooted the device to check if indeed everything was deleted, my pc didn't recognise the device. I tried on an other pc but no reaction. I hear the connecting sound and get a notification on the pc that says "usb device not recognised". I tried installing the drivers via SUS but that didn't change anything. I then tried if my sim-card worked but the device gives a notification: the simcard could not be recognised. My simcard is working correctly as it works in an other cellphone. I then thought I could install titanium backup to search for an old backup but I can't even get the wifi going. I also installed other roms but I can't mount /system. The device I have is rooted and unlocked.
Could you help me solve this issue?
Can't understand the problem exactly, is the device booting? If it is what does it mean you cannot mount system?
You also say you have installed other roms, that require mounting of system.
What FW is installed?

The device was booting but now it's stuck on the Sony image (before the loading image)
The problem is: the device doesn't recognise any simcard. I can't turn on wifi nor does the pc recognise my phone.
When in CWM (when I try installing a new rom that was already on the phone's sd-card beforehand) I can't mount /system.
I can pick a ftf from my sd-card to install a rom but afterwards the problems stay the same: no sim, no wifi, no usb connection possible.

Can you enter fastboot or flash mode, and do you have flashtool and firmware to flash?

After a lot of cursing and sweating I managed to get it in fastboot, install an ics ftf and now it's updating via pc companion (wifi and pc connection work as before). The only problem that still exists now is the fact that the device doesn't recognise my sim-card. I checked if I didn't put it in the other way around but it's in the right position. I'm sure the sim works because I tested it in another cellphone.
Thanks a lot for helping me
I have never flashed FW with fastboot only kernels.
Maybe it have flashed, TA partition which is normaly not flashed?
Lets see after the update.

I'm sorry it was in FlashMode The update gives me an error but somehow after I rebooted, the sim is now recognised :s
The only problem now is that I'm stuck in JB but I'm doubting to try anything else.
This cellphone has been nothing but random misery to me for the past 6 months The problem with the randomness is that I can't show it to the service centers (they keep on telling me they can't reproduce the problem).

Yea sorry I meant stuck on ICS. It's 2AM now over here so I'm getting a little bit tired I think I'll be able to find an ftf for JB with the search button tomorrow. Anyway, I thank you for your help I'm glad I found Flash tool to fix my problem.
Hi there, I have a problem. I flashed a ROM and i guess it also flashed a kernel, while im on a locked bootloader... uh oh. The phone can still charge the battery and I get to the SONY logo but nothing after that.
I have tried plugging in a USB cable with VOL - but then windows tells me it cannot recognize the device. I have installed the flashtool drivers and PC companion drivers but no go. Any help would be appreciated.

Here is a recovery guide
I have tried this method. My problem happens when connecting the device after setting up flashtool. Windows tells me the device could not be recognized (device descriptor request failed), the phone flashes a red led when i plug in the USB cable and then green for a split second right after. then blank nothing, and the error shows up on my desktop.

It's hard to remember, my phone was in for repair for an entire month, but because of one chip on the back plate they deemed the issue a physical problem and didn't cover it under warranty.
I think I was trying to flash back to eXistenz but I believe I flashed a kernel by accident, slip of the hand I guess. I went to restart the phone and it became frozen on the SONY logo. The phone is LB. I just need a fix!

i think Envious_Data is right, flashing a stock .ftf with flashtool should fix your problems as flashing wrong kernel shouldn't hard-brick your phone, only soft-brick.
But since you can't get your phone properly recognized on the pc you either have a bricked motherboard (i don't think that's the case) or you are having driver issues on the pc (most likely). maybe try flashing on windows xp?
I agree with the above
Phone keeps rebooting while it's on charger , and doesn't turn on if i remove it from it
as in this video watch?v=k3Y93FjEqdw
it was off for long time and i was trying to use it again

When I was trying to do it , it totally doesn't allow the tool to connect while battery is in the phone , I opened the phone to disconnect it and tool worked
but still no luck ,exactly same issue
You should try with the older version of flashtool as well(worked with an SP, same issue)
If that doesn't help, your motherboard might gave up
