how to you set custom ringtone and notifications?
im getting the phone in the mail and i would like to know so i can get it all setup tonite. thanks

Hi Guys,
I have been using Ringdroid for a while now...this app is real good. I have added my personal ringtones to my contacts and notifications.
Everything is working except sms tone. Everytime i get a sms same system alert plays. Have i done something wrong? What setting do you have to change to put your own sms tone??

Go to messages - menu - settings - change it there, the sms tone is different to the notification tone.

I don't know how many people use Whatsapp, but I've been trying to get custom notifications for my contacts. You can assign custom ringtones and custom notification sounds to your contacts on the contacts app, but in whatsapp, you can only select the ringtone. Has anybody been able to get whatsapp to use the notification sound instead of the ringtone?
Before anyone suggests it, I dont want to use a notification tone for the contacts ringtone. I use custom ringtones a lot to know when I need to quickly answer the phone or if I can let it ring and call back later.

I believe not as the developer for whatsapp has not implemented this feature.

is there any way to set a custom NOTIFICATION tone for individuals in whatsapp? somehow you can only set a custom ringtone, but that ends up playing the entire thing whenever i get a message.
I have set custom ringtones to a few contacts which work fine. But when they send me a WhatsApp message, it gives their custom ringtone as a notification instead of the WhatsApp tone i have set. Has anyone else had this problem, or know how to solve it?

I always used custom sounds for my email. Now with the update they are apparently gone. How can I control the notification sound gmail and texts make when they come in now?
The panel I used to control them before, is now gone.
