[RESOLVED]WiFi problem after .28 OTA - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hi,
I used the downgrade hack from .21 to .15 for root my prime then used voodoo OTA root keeper everything went well when I re-update to .21. Then the OTA .28 arrived then I updated everything worked great until I installed Titanium backup for backup all my apps and settings in order to unlock bootloader for flash custom ROMs. My root worked perfectly until I run titanium that said my device wasn't root, I used file manager with root access and could modify some files and set permissions for others.
So I tried to momentary un-root my prime but voodoo kept telling that my prime was rooted. Here the problem begins I no longer can connect to any WiFi, when scan it show a high WiFi signal then when try to connect I get stuck on "obtaining adress IP" with after few minutes a notification telling that can't connect due to a poor signal. At home my box is at 2m from where I try to connect from and until now I always got a full strength signal. I also tried to connect on a coffee I use to go and I have the same problem.
I did a factory reset and tried to re-root my prime with the last methods for tf101, 201 and 300. I did both tool and manually with adb but I got error with debugfs.
My prime only have 2 months and I would like to know if someone know a way to resolve this problem and avoid to have to send my prime at Asus. I wanted to downgrade again but seems that now it only can be done if have a root access.

Have you attempted a) reset your router and / or reserve IP based on your Prime Mac address. Might kick it into action - let me know

Thanks, I tried already and also used static IP, don't do a thing. At first I believed something was wrong between my router and the prime. My Xbox and HTC Sensation XE could connect. The problem doesn't come from my router as I can't connect on other routers too.

Do you know how can I do a hard reset? As the bootloader is locked I don't see how can I flash .28.
EDIT: hard reset is another word for say factory reset so I already did it.
EDIT 2: Ok, thanks for your post. I made a manual update by downloading the right Firmware.
For people who could have this kind of problem with a corrupted root.
First make a factory reset of your tab.
Second simply go to ASUS website then download the firmware for your tab, well check on /settings/about tablet your build number (WW, US, etc..) and your current version .15 .21 .28.
When you finish download extract it then put it on a SDcard. Put the SDcard on your tab when it is ON then after preparing SDcard you'll see an icon look like a warning on the notification. Open the notification then click on it and follow the instructions. then when your tab reboot everything should comeback to normal if it's only due to a firmware problem.

Ongoing relentless bluetooth crisis

Hello I don’t know if anyone might be able to help but if theres any senior members that reads this and can shed any light on my problem, I’d be very grateful. First a little info on my phone and root:
In the bootloader it says ***TAMPERED*** ***UNLOCKED*** JEWEL PVT SHIP S-ON RL, HBOOT- 1.12.0000, RADIO-1.02.12.0427, Open-DSP-v25.o1.32.0405, eMMC boot. The rom that was loaded on the phone was an HTC build called Viper Rom. When the HTC 'quietly brilliant' screen comes up, underneath in red text it says "This build is for developement purposes only Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permission. Failure to comply may lead to legal action." There were no issues with the bluetooth for months. My Bluetooth started disconnecting roughly 3 or 4 weeks ago and I have tried almost everything I can think of to try and fix it. First checking the three Bluetooth headset devices I use on other devices and they show up no problem. The perplexing thing that I recently found is when connectin via USB and opening all the files on the phone, there is no 'root' file that I can find anywhere. What I have tried:
1. Soft resets
2. safe mode restarts
3. factory resets
4. Bluetooth fix/ repair app
5. Change wifi frequency band from 'auto' to '2.4'
Now all of the 5 things above that I have tried worked one time and all stopped working within about 2 hours. Some almost right away the bt was disconnecting- even though it would re-connect, soon that stopped. From that point forward I have done the following:
1. Downloaded and flashed the 'Team Venom's version of Viper Rom 2.0.0.
The rom worked fine. but no BT. Another member on XDA suggested flashing the latest Mean Rom based on the HTC update 2.13.651.1. Did so, no BT. Then I flashed the latest Viper Rom 2.0.2 also based on the update and no BT. My next step was flashing a rooted version of that update that Max (Mikroms) posted on here. I did a factory rest, wipe cashe, wipe Dalvik cashe- six times before doing so. I Thought bricked my phone, it was bootlooping. I held down the power button for two full minutes then let go and then held down the power and vol down buttons and luckily the bootloader came up. I again did a factory reset, cashe and Dalvik wipe and reflashed the Viper Rom 2.0.2 again. which is the best rom I have ever used. This time some of the viper Tweak aren't working of available but everything else works fine except the BT.
I found out a couple of days ago there are a couple other people having a similar problem. I called HTC and they are aware theres a BT problem and are working on a fix which could take weeks. I dont know how I would get this fix since my phone is S-on. Another senior member has told me I can get S-off on the phone since I have 1.12 Hboot. I will be reading up on how to properly do that but was also told that that wouldn't have anything to do with the BT. I see it as being able to get updates, fixes and other stuff I have read about 'S-off'
After reading online, I found something about fixing bluetooth with logcat but didn't quite understand it. I do have an app on my phone now called aLogcat but do not know how to use it. I also went through the Play store and came across an app called 'rSAP- Bluetooth SIM Access Profile'. I then read the reviews and it sounded like the fix. Instead of spendingt the $12.49, I downloaded the trial version. An error came up "System file library not found. Is the an HTC/Samsung phone?" with no means to reply. The first clue about the problem is that the BT system files are not there, empty or blocked somehow. The only other things I can think of are:
Finding a stock rom, downloading/ flashing latest stock RUU.
Finding and copying the bluetooth system files from a friends evo 4G LTE phone that is a couple months newer.
I will be contacting my BT headset manufacturer and see if I can find out what should be on the phone for files since HTC wont or dosen't know what they are. Is there anyone out there in the developement world that may know how to access and copy the BT software on the phone or have any answers or suggestions moving forward???
Thanks in advance for any info,
TJ
in the same situation!
Ok anybody have any ideas? My Bluetooth stopped working as well on the last couple of builds of cm10. I tried restarting normally, also by holding the power button for ten seconds, clearing cache, clearing dalvik cache, I've restored a nandroid, and even got desperate and completely changed kernels and ROM OVER to mean ROM. OH and tried fixing permissions. It seems like the original post said, the files aren't just plain there! I cannot find anything on the web so far that allows you to flash a specific "Bluetooth installer". Please help if you got any ideas! Thanks!

In order to do so I nees to lock the bootloader. I cannot get the bootloader locked! Idownloaded the sdk tools theyre installed. When connecting my phonew in bootloader mode through the usb it does not show up on my pc. I rebooted the phone then connected, selected disk drive, then booted into bootloader. Of course during the switch my pc chimed a disconnect sound then a connect sound.so it dropped my connection through disk drive thus blockng me from accessing my phone through the bootloader on the pc. I have spent 4 hours at this this evening so I can return this piece of crap back to spint and I cant even relocked it...Whats even worse is when going to my c drive on my pc there is no android sdk file at the top....Any suggestions?

[Q] wifi tether showing errors

I am having troubles getting the wifi app to work on my evo 4g. I changed the setting to generic ics/jb (wlan0) and it worked after initial root. Now not at all. Says error loading check log. Shows up and I can connect but than the phone's 3g is just blank, (not lit up) As soon as I turn tether off my 3g lights up. I have not flashed any new roms, I'm running 3.15 and hboot is 2.09. Main reason I rooted was for wifi!
It shows tethering now running; done.
enabeling ip foward; done
enabbling nat rules; failed
configuring ip; failed
starting app; failed,, All the way up to loading wifi driver failed, loading the driver actually passed! Anyone? Thanks in advance. I tried searching for a answer. I really did. Brad

My wifi is fine. If you uncheck the "connect to best available network" It will stay in 3g/lte. mine was toggling off but after I did the uncheck, it fixed that. I can actually see the android tether under avaiable networks, I can connect, laptop says connected to android, but no info sent! Says to diagnose connection! So frustrating cause I know it worked b 4!
oh
Oh if that. Are u o. Jb if so that is a bug in it I've herd that there working on it but I don't know
First off. Thanks to the Mods for moving this thread!
What I did was relock, unroot. reinstalled all drivers for htc, for some reason my pc would not see my phone, than unlock again, re-root and I went back to the 0.99v su. After i did all this origanaly my wifi was great, than flashed the new 2.3 or 3.2 supersu and lost it! Made me sad...
So hope it gets fixed cause if I click on supersu app it wants to reboot if I try and update, or thatswhat happened initially.. I'm typing through my evo now ...

Wifi not connecting on Asus Memo pad 10.1

My tablet will not connect to ANY WiFi network anymore. Everything was working perfectly, but had to send the tablet to Asus for RMA because it would not charge anymore. But now, when i connect to my wifi network it just says its saved and does not connect" I figured maybe it was an issue with my network, so I went out and tested it with other WiFi connections. It can scan and detect everything, but the same thing happens while trying to connect to anything. My Sony phone and laptop are able to connect to everything perfectly, but the tablet will not, even to the networks which it has previously connected to.
Things I have tried:
Deleted all networks by using the "Forget network" option and tried connecting again.
Tried "open" type networks without any passwords.
Rebooted the tablet several times.
Done a factory reset, twice.
Tried to analyse logcat data.
Anyone else know a fixs for this problem? Or do i have to rma it again..

Same issue - any resolution?
I purchased two refurbished ASUS MeMO Pad Smart 10.1" tablets from Groupon - $109 each - in late Sept 2014. Figured it was a good deal so I jumped on it: I would have one for myself and one for a gift (for my father). Mine has worked without any issues, but I finally gave my father his tablet today (Mar 1, 2015 - yes, six months later) ... and I cannot get his tablet to connect via wi-fi. I've tried all the same steps - from the initial setup to trying other wi-fi locations to doing a factory reset. Nothing is working.
How can I fix this???? Please help!!
I just had the same problem reinstalling the stock rom.
It was a permissions problem caused by the su executable blocking che permission change, I solved installing a selfmade custom zip via recovery, ispired by this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-asus-memo-pad-8-me180a-ww-3-1-0-42-t3027620

My system worked for my MemoPad, but I have no idea if it's compatible with your model...
It's a simple script who changes the permissions, it doesn't install anything, so I don't think it could do any damage...
The problem with original rom was about "set_metadata_recursive" function not existing, so I had to list all files from the directories and call "set_metadata" on each one.

[Q] Galaxy S III i9305 Wifi Problem

Good day,
I have a samsung galaxy s3 i9305 LTE and I have been using this device without problems for around 2 years now. It runs on Jellybean 4.3 baseband version i9305zhucnb1. It has been running on this firmware for a couple months now ever since it has been rolled out. The problem is, the WIFI suddenly stopped working. Never had this problem before and I actually never had any problems with this device ever. Whenever I turn on WIFI, it detects my home networks and other networks wherever I go but whenever I try to connect, it just shows saved secured, and sometimes authentication error after a couple of attempts. I have other WIFI devices at home and all are working perfectly. I tried forgetting the networks and I am positive that the WIFI password is correct. I tried to restore the device to facroty settings hoping that it would work. I tried accessing my router and I'm sure my device isn;t blocked. I even configured my routers to only accept the mac address of my device and block all others but still wouldn't connect. I tried rooting my device via odin but my device blocks root access and shows the error message "an application attempted to access system on your device without authorization. this attempt has been blocked.". I tried rooting it to try flashing custom roms. I also tried dialling *#0011# to configure my wifi but it still does not work. I don't think that the problem is my firmware because I had it for months and it didn't update before the issue occured. I was also about to try downgrading it to an ICS stock rom since I can't root it to try custom ROMs. I've been trying to fix this for days now. Can you guys give me a step by step instruction on how to fix this if it is at all possible? And maybe give me a link where I can download ICS or lower stock ROM's for this device. I think I have to use a TGY firmware, though I don't have an idea what it means. Thanks!
Wifi module
Maybe you've dropped your phone and the WIFI module loosened, and it can't work correctl?

Maybe it's time for factory reset? I know that's the easy solution and most complicated but you should do it from time to time.

i decided to have it checked by a local technician and according to them, this was still a software issue. i dont know what to do anymore. they insisted that i should just keep flashing stock roms to fix these. already tried flashing the 4.3 tgy jellybean stock rom so i was thinking of flashing other version stocks. can anyone give e a good link where i can download tgy stock roms 4.1.2 or even ICS stock roms. I also am having problems with rooting the device. it gives me error message "an application attempted to access system on your device without authorization. this attempt has been blocked." after flashing autoroot in odin. my knox is not installed. thanks.

dont know
the first time i brought this to them is when i attempted to flash an incompatible firmware. they also did not fix it. they said they dont have any available stock rom for i9305 and told me to download and flash one. mayba im just gonna have to look for a different technician when i have free time. so for the mean time, im trying to look for other fixes. btw, i tried downloading a tgy 4.1.2 stock rom and it does not flash successfully. for now i'm thinking of rooting and flashing custom roms. but whenever i flash auto root. it gives me the error message "an application attempted to access system on your device without authorization. this attempt has been blocked.". i tried updating supersu still the same thing. i manually installed root checker and says it does not have root access and it shows the said error message again. what should i do with that? Thanks

[Q] LTE Fix through adb Possible?

I am using LTE kindle fire hdx 14.3.2.6 and I was wondering if there is a way to fix the LTE of the devices after using HDXPOSE. I tried uninstalling every thing and factory resetting but no luck at all. Can it be fix with ADB by chance. Wifi works fine no problem. Also cant update it says update failed. when I tryed to up date through wifi. Even if there is not thanks for help any way. PS. I know it was entirely my fault. Oh I see the network AT&T pop up and full bars, but no internet access bin like this for a few months now as I had given up back then. Thanks any way if there isn't a way.

Oh I have tryed KFHDX+Toolkit+Source but no success.
In order to update, you have to enable updates through the HDX toolbox, and you will probably need to wipe it. There are directions around here (look in the general forum). Then, the update should go through. Do not forget to uninstall the exposed framework first. Good luck.
P.S. After you update, you will not be able to root again for a while.
