Does anyone know where I can find a complete list of possible xml variables for the theme files?
As of right now, I'm mainly interested in all possible values for theme.mtz>com.miui.home>theme_values.xml but a complete list would be just as well.
Thanks

I was trying to use the visual layout editor and it says "LayoutLib is too recent. Update your tool!" What does that mean?
I'm not 100% certain but it sounds like the visual editor is attempting to do something that your version of Eclipse doesn't support. The visual layout editor should be part of the ADT plugin for Eclipse. I think your version of Eclipse might be backlevel or something? What version are you running? You'll probably need one of the recent releases like Helios or Indigo.
If you have a newer release of Eclipse then you probably need to ask the Google folks that create the ADT plugin what on earth that means...
I had yo update my ADT to 12 (or something like that) so that the visual editor would work with the updated sdk.
need to know waht eclipse version u have because some oldest versions rent supported anymore , other thing u need to update ur adt then , go to help then choose updatesoftware then a new small window will appears , choose add then add this link:
https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/

Hey, brayann16k, this worked for me! I tried the update function and a few other things I found on the web, but this one worked! Thanks a lot, I'm very new to developing for Android and the visual editor will be of great help finding some important relations and understanding the layout xml structure.

Click to collapse
One thing to consider when developing is that xml defines the layout, and java determines what each of the elements (buttons, images, etc.) does. Look up thenewboston android tutorials on youtube. Theres 200+ videos and he covers every topic imaginable
I would like to create a theme for sense 4, but i don't know how to start...
Is possible to create an apk since sense already support themes?
Where can i found the stock theme to begin with?
As you can see i can edit images, i just don't know how extract and repack the theme...
Can someone help?
PS: just to be clear, i want to make a theme for sense 4, not a sense 4 theme for something else..
Thanks!
I am very interested in making a theme for our awesome AOSP ROMs that we have so far. I am only familiar with the normal or old way of themeing.. I have never made a theme chooser theme before. I have never used Eclipse, I usually just extract with APK Multi-Tools and change XML with Notepad ++ and edit icons with Paint.NET. I have opened a few existing t-c themes and realized I don't know anything about this stuff.. lol Any good guides out there you could point me to? I tried to Google the subject and all the threads just have themes to download, can't find any guides. I have never made an apk from scratch before.. don't know if that is where I have to start?
**EDIT: May have found a better place to start

Any other suggestions are welcome.
Above post says to use androidian.apk as a template which I think is only in CM7, anybody know what the cm9 equivalent is?
**EDIT: May have found a working template for CM9/AOKP XHDPI/HDPI.. Will give it a try

I spent the morning making Redirections for touchwiz to be compatible with xthemer.
For those who know what your doing feel free to download the redirections, unzip, then open with 7zip and copy to the android.xml in your ported theme.
I ported crimson cobalt this morning, and here are the results.
Running: Novella Rom
For More Screenshots go HERE
Last but not least here is the link to the Redirections. Also make sure you visit the G+ community and thank Ruqq for developing xthemer.
You will also find links on the community page on how to install and use xthemer.
I am currently waiting on permission from the developer of Crimson Cobalt to share the apk.
Finally, I'm sorry for the sloppy op but I've been on the computer all day and I need to get up, just wanted to get this out there so we could get some more themes ported over for our Note's.
Upon researching further, I have found the the stock dialer needs some work. The # 1 is a different color than the rest and "contacts" isn't properly theming. Probably a few edits need to be made in the redirections xml. I will be working on these issues plus I will be flashing a stockish rom (something I never do) just so I can ensure that all of the issues are ironed out. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Epic! Love to see the finished product

Hello, I would like to customize the phone more to my preferences and I would like to edit the systemui etc, I've tried looking for systemui, but just couldn't find it, I am using aosp extended, and when I looked for the systemui.apk in the system folder, its just not there. I used to work a bit with those things a few years back, but I don't know if its different because miui is maybe built differently or just android changed the way files are compiled or anything. Anyway, if someone could shortly explain to me how to edit miui/any custom rom system files, or give me a guide that fits miui, I would really appreciate it, thanks.
anyone pls? :\
