You can use an existing mod (here) and replace the icons in SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-xhdpi.

Hi
Thanks for the advice, I have managed to decompile, edit & recompile a modded apk. There is one problem though, The battery icon seems to default back to the previous icon & returns when i reboot?. I believe there is some sort of fix for this when running ICS???

SystemUI and Framework-res APKs? (Update: LTE icons found)

Can someone supply me with their stock Framework-res and SystemUI APKs?
EDIT: Look what I found (attached as a zip file). LTE network icons. Pretty interesting. For anyone that wants to pretend they have LTE connectivity, the icons are there.

These are from Stock framework and systemUI? If so, we can use these in the UOT kitchen for battery mods, etc, right?
Yes these were the stock Apks. As for ur other question I don't want to assume anything.

Yes you can. However, if your framework and systemui apks are different from the ones in the first reply, you'll lose any changes you made (if you made any).

I'm still on stock and haven't made any framework/systemUI changes, so I should be good to go, Once I root, I can start working on some battery mods

why would this be, cuz i messed around with framework and systemui then used like root explorer to go place it back into /system/app/ it should work as per the changes right?

If someone modified their apks and used the stock ones to add a battery mod, for example, the result would be a completely stock framework with the modified battery. This would cause them to lose any changes they made to the framework (outside of the battery mod) before they replaced it. Same thing applies for the SystemUI and anything else. To avoid all of this, the best choice is always to use apks directly pulled from your device.

[MOD][MINI/MINI PRO/LIVE][Xperia Nero v1]Statusbar Widgets,Customize as YOU WANT !!

This Mode is only for Gingerbread ROM and is no more maintained !
Same Mode is Availble in my ROM NeroICS with every thing working
GPS crash fix and network toggle is fixed now with 15 toggles...
I have read a lot about users comments to know how to make Power widgets for statusbar and how to customize them.
And finally got solution over it ! Its similar to the statusbar from CyanogenMod BUT this one is more cool in look !!
You can add remove and arrange the power widgets in statusbar as you want and also apply settings without reboot ! This is for Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i) Users with Android 2.3.4 OS as i have tested it on my SK17i
It also worked on Xperia Mini and Live (Tested by users...)
Active users can try at their own risk ! And please report if it works....
NOTE : I am not responsible if you damage your device by my work ! AND DON'T HESITATE TO HIT THANKS BUTTON IF YOU LIKE MY WORK AS I HAVE MODED IT FOR SK17i !!
Instruction for use :
Firstly extract "Xperia Nero v1 (Power Widgets).zip" anywhere you want and follow these method.
Method 1 :
1] Install QuickPanelSettings.apk
2] And Just Copy " Xperia Nero v1.zip " directly to SD CARD and flash it using CMW
And you are done !
Method 2 :
1] Install QuickPanelSettings.apk
2] Extract " Xperia Nero v1.zip " copy SystemUI.apk from "app" folder and framework-res.apk from "framework" folder of extracted files.
3] Put them anywhere in phone memory before you replace original files using adb or Root Explorer etc and change permission to
R W -
R - -
R - -
4] Make backup of original SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk and then copy the apk that you put in phone memory just now.And reboot
And you are done !
Sorry For Orange colored pics but actually its BLUE Color NOT Orange !

Yes you can use it with UOT kitchen and I can say it would be better to re modify these apk file as you want instead of porting look of old SystemUI.apk, as it takes more efforts than redesigning
thanks for reply. I have tried using this in UOT Kitchen but when i flash it back on to my phone the status bar widgets are gone. ANy ideas?

This might be due to 2 reasons first is you might have added header or carrier lable that will cause you to loose power widgets
or the layout, choose mdpi layout and make sure tou haven't added any non compatible widget icons like blue icon pack...
rest it shouldn't happen as i have tested them on uot before i answer you
method 2 does not require unlocked bootloader right? just rooted phone?
update - my UOT Kitchen'ed version of framework and systemui works if i perform a factory reset and then apply. but then i lose all my stuff, so i have restored my backup. I have tried wiping dalvik cache and then flashing zip but that applies my theme but without toggles :-s I'm so confused

No method 2 needs only rooted phone to use root explorer or similar software to copy apk files
These software requires root access...no need of unlocked bootloader..

This shouldn't happen, though you try following steps
firstly extract my apk files from my work (systemui and framewor-res both)
Upload them to uot and modify as you want
download and extract the modified uot files (systemui and framework-res both) and replace your origianl apk files from phone memory by giving properpermission as mention above in method 2
Reboot and it should work ...
and be sure you don't mess with header and carrier label through uot ! Cause i have restricted them in my work for stability.

Did it gave you any glitches or else ? cause it worked on Mini as told by one user...
And if you want to revert back to old look then just replace SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk of old rom with proper perimissions that i mentioned above and you will get your old look back... (I hope you had made a backup of these files or Nandroid backup before you used my work )
I noticed a small problem in Quick panel

It's not easy, you need to recompile framework-res.apk. But you can use UOT Kitchen, it's online tool to change icons in framework-res.apk: http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/

[GUIDE] how to make battery % icon remove AM/PM ,remove battery text on the left

as most of the systemui here are without battery percentage icon or with left text percentage and alot of people asks to remove it and make the battery percentage icon holo circle
I thought a simple guide will be handy to everyone to mod her/his systemui.apk as he like.
so here we go:
1- to make the battery icon update every 1% without decompile apk:
open ur systemui.apk with winzip or winrar (don't unzip)
go to res\drawable and replace stat_sys_battery.xml & stat_sys_battery_charge.xml with the attached compiled.zip
go to res\drawable-mdpi put 204 png's (battery icons you wish attached holo circle for example )
close winzip
and your apk is ready don't work every time so please skip this and go decompile method 2
2- to make the battery icon update every 1% remove the percentage text on the left of battery icon and remove AM/PM clock
decompile Systemui,apk
battery %icon
go to res\drawable and replace stat_sys_battery.xml & stat_sys_battery_charge.xml with the attached decompiled.zip
go to res\drawable-mdpi put 204 png's (battery icons you wish attached holo circle for example )
remove the percentage text on the left of battery icon
goto res\layout\status_bar.xml open with notpad++ or Editplus 3
find android:id="@id/battery_text" add this line after it android:visibility="gone"
save the new xml
remove AM/PM clock
go to res\values\integers.xml
change the forth line to be like this <integer name="config_clock_am_pm_style">2</integer>
save the new xml
recompile and enjoy
the following samples based on serajr [App] Xperia T Tabbed 'n' Grid Toggles SystemUI ICS .587 FW - MDPI so thank him if u like them
SystemUI with 1%circle
my personal SystemUI screenshot attached
I'm just a noob messing around so use the guide on ur own risk (always keep a copy of the original systemui.apk)
press thanks if it helped

why u didn't find intager.xml???
you have to decompile ur Systemui.apk to find that file
anyway I didn't try to remove the clock but I think u can remove it by deleting the following line from: res\layout\status_bar.xml
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.policy.Clock android:textAppearance="@style/TextAppearance.StatusBar.Clock" android:gravity="left|center" android:id="@id/clock" androidaddingLeft="6.0dip" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:singleLine="true" />
I may try to do that for u when I have time

If u like any battery icons on any systemui.apk download it and unzip the apk
then go to res/drawable-mdpi and copy them to ur SystemUI.apk
if the desired apk was not mdpi use Image Resizer to resize them
or google for icon packs.

For statusbar icons, you don't need to worry about resizing them. As long as the icons are in the right drawable folder, the phone will resize them automatically. Which is very handy.

To make it transparent
1- Decompile SystemUI.apk.
2- Open res\layout\status_bar.xml
3- There you will see a value like android:background=FF000000
4- To make it translucent type 5F000000 instead of FF000000 or to make it full transparent type 000000
